How To Dehydrate Green Onions
How To Dehydrate Green Onions - Dehydrating Green Onions - From Our Garden To The Prepper Pantry
Dehydrating green onions (also known as scallions or spring onions or sibies) is a super simple process, and it can expand your home garden harvest through the winter months.
Even if you don't garden, buying from a local farmer's market and dehydrating those vegetables and herbs just makes sense.

Off-Grid One Pot Sloppy Joe Ground Beef and Rice - Cooking From The Pantry
Another fine video for our 'Cooking From The Pantry - Off-Grid Style' series.
This was a fun, last-minute video I put together as soon as I got home from work.
It's a one-pot sloppy joe with ground beef and I used rice rather than buns. You know, to make it just as unhealthy as actual sloppy joes.
I'm using a one-burner propane camp stove and all of the ingredients came from our prepper pantry.
You can find the complete show notes with links at:

Cooking From The Pantry - Zucchini Soup

Making Zucchini Soup From The Pantry (& garden) over my Backyard fire pit - off-grid style. Practicing our off-grid skills. Firepit cooking using a camp tripod.
This is video #2 of my new category, "Off-Grid Cooking From The Pantry."

Note: In the video, I mentioned canning the zucchini soup. A little research and I’ve found summer squashes, including zucchini are no longer recommended for home canning. It can, however, still be pickled.

Off Grid Cooking - Chicken Noodle Soup
The power is out. You haven't been to the store in weeks. What can you make for dinner?
For close to two years, we've been cooking at least one meal a week from items taken directly from our prepper pantry.
Practice makes perfect. Here we are, pretending the power was out, cooking a meal from items straight out of our prepper pantry. Actually, we're prepping meals for the week, but I'm doing it all on a Camp Chef stove on our front porch.
Today it's chicken noodle soup - homemade and off-grid style with common ingredients I pulled from our pantry. The one exception was the chicken, and I explain that in the video.
Here's the accompanying post, which includes more details and links:

New Gas Can Fix - As Good As An Old Gas Can
Fixing New Gas Containers
Just a short video on what I do to my old gas cans to make them work like the old ones used to.
It's straightforward, but not all gas cans are created equal, so you may have to make an adjustment or two if you decide to do the same type of thing.
As I mention in the video, I have not idea how acceptable, legal, safe, or even smart it is to alter these gas containers, and I'm just showing you what I did.
You do you and, if you decide to fix your case containers, do so at your own risk. I will not be held responsible.

Car Emergency Survival Gear (Vehicle EDC 2021)
I go over the survival gear and car EDC I keep in my vehicles - updated for 2021.
The accompanying blog post where you'll find links to many of the survival items shown:
https://nextstepsurvival.com/vehicle-survival-gear-2021
This car survival kit is what I carry for emergencies here in Michigan. I post videos like this to offer ideas and inspiration - not instructing others on what to do and have. Every situation is different, and the survival gear you carry is a personal choice and decision.
I failed to show what I keep up in the cab. I keep a separate tourniquet (Within reach while behind the wheel), first aid kit, window breaker, seat belt cutter, and a flashlight. I also have gloves, paper & pen, a knife, chargers and things like that.
Mentioned in the video:

EDC Bag / Get Home Bag 2020 - What's Inside?
A look inside my EDC Bag / Get-Home bag. While on a break at work, I recorded a spur-of-the-moment video showing what I keep inside my everyday carry bag that is also geared toward getting me home in an emergency. Call it an EDC bag or Get-Home bag but it is not a bugout bag.
It's not really even a survival bag. My EDC bag does have a little survival gear inside but it is designed for everyday items I might need and gear to help me get home from wherever I find myself in an emergency situation.
We're talking more of an urban EDC bag, not a bushcraft pack. I carry this EDC pack everywhere - every day. Period. I never leave the house without it.
Accompanying blog post coming soon on https://nextstepsurvival.com/ where I'll post any links that are appropriate.

Prepper Pantry Full Tour 2020 - Six+ Months Supply
This is a complete tour of our prepper pantry stored in a 12' x 12' room I built until we get our spare bedrooms back.
You'll see between six months to one-year (Closer to one year) of long-term food storage for my wife and me. We're at the point now where we just need to replace what we use but we do still tend to add more months over time.
I hope this video gives you some ideas and inspiration. If you're just starting out, PLEASE don't let this intimidate you. It takes time and dedication to build this around of food storage but all it takes is a plan and consistent action. Honestly, spread over time it never dug into our family budget and we never use credit.
There's also a saving aspect when you're slowing building up your prepper pantry. It not only allows you to shop sales but you're beating the rise of inflation when you begin consuming it.
If you like this video, please consider subscribing to our channel, Next Step Survival. I have many other videos planned and have invested in the equipment to improve along with my skill.

Prepper Pantry - In Plain Sight Inventory System
This is a short video showing a very simple inventory system I use in my prepper pantry. I call it the "Plain Sight" or "Plain View" inventory system because everything is seen at a glance.
I no longer use apps or notebooks, just my shelving racks, and my eyes. We can see what is missing very quickly and those items go onto our shopping list.
I forgot to mention in the video that the canned meats are mostly labeled 26 cans for a six-month supply of long-term food storage BUT the cans of tuna need twice that due to their small size. So the tuna needs 52 cans for that six-month food supply.
I hope this video helps inspire you and give you some ideas to apply to your own prepper pantry or long-term food storage solution.
