Graphing an Elliptic Paraboloid in 3D
In this video I graph an elliptic paraboloid in 3D both manually as well as using the GeoGebra 3D graphing calculator. An elliptic paraboloid has vertical traces being parabolas and horizontal traces being ellipses.

Graphing an Ellipsoid in 3D
In this video I graph the Ellipsoid quadric surface, whose vertical and horizontal traces are all ellipses. This means that if you cut through the ellipsoid from any angle, the 2D trace will always be an ellipse. Intro to Quadric Surfaces and Recap on Conic Sections
In this video i go over a quick introduction to 3D Quadric Surfaces and recap on their 2D counterparts, Conic Sections. A quadric surface is the 3D graph of a second-degree equation in three variables x, y, and z. I illustrate the most general equation as well as two standard forms that be obtained by rotation and translation (and lots of algebra via completing the square). Quadric surfaces have 2D counterparts in conic sections, which I have listed below.

Graphing Circular Cylinders in 3D
In this video I show how to graph vertical and horizontal circular cylinders in 3 dimensions. The first example is the vertical cylinder with equation x^2 + y^2 = 1. This is just the equation of a circle with radius 1, but since z is not present, the circle extended along the z-axis vertically. The second example is the horizontal cylinder y^2 + z^2 = 1. This again is just the equation of a circle of radius 1 but along the yz-plane. Since the x-axis is not present this means the circle gets extended horizontally along the x-axis. Graphing a Parabolic Cylinder in 3D
In this video I introduce cylinders and quadric surfaces and then do an example graphing out a parabolic cylinder. I first recap on the equation of a plane and equation of a sphere in 3D. A cylinder is defined as a 3D surface that consists of all lines (called rulings) that are parallel to a given line and pass through a given plane. I illustrate this by sketching the graph of the parabolic cylinder z = x^2. Since the y-variable is missing, this means that the parabola on the xz-plane can be extended along the y-axis to infinity. Note that the 2D parabolas are called traces, which are curves of intersection of the surfaces with planes parallel to the coordinate planes. Traces make it easier to sketch the surface, and in some cases are necessary to do so.

Vectors and the Geometry of Space: Cylinders and Quadric Surfaces
In this video I explore the wonderful world of cylinders and quadric surfaces. Cylinders are defined as a 3D surface that consists of all lines (called rulings) that are parallel to a given line and pass through a given plane curve. Quadric surfaces are the graphs of a second-degree equation in three variables x, y, and z. Unlike quadric surfaces, cylinders have 1 of the x, y, or z variables missing from its equation. This makes the cylinder extend outwards along the missing variable. I also go over some exercises and show that the Earth can be more accurately modeled as an ellipsoid, which is a type of quadric surface. This section is part of the Vectors and Geometry of Space chapter in my Calculus book.

Laboratory Project: Taylor Polynomials: Question 6: Example
In this video I go over Question 6 of the Laboratory Project: Taylor Polynomials and this time look at an example on how to apply Taylor Polynomials to approximate the function f(x) = cos(x) centered at x = a = 0. This example involves determining the 8th degree polynomial and comparing it graphically with the 2nd, 4th, and 6th degree approximations. The first step in solving for the 8th degree Taylor Approximation is to take the derivatives up to the 8th derivative and solve each one for when x = a = 0. Doing so we can clearly see a pattern since the derivatives of cos(x) involve alternating sin(x) and cos(x) functions but with varying positive or negative signs. Since sin(0) = 0, I show that the odd terms, given the first term is considered even or zero, all vanish thus greatly simplifying the final formula. The 2nd, 4th, and 6th Taylor Approximations are all simply determined from the 8th degree Taylor Approximation since each successive iteration just adds a new term to the formula. Graphing the approximations all together with the function f(x) = cos(x) and centered about x = a = 0, I show that the approximations gets better and better for each successive iteration especially as the interval gets larger and larger. This is a very careful and detailed video showing how to approach and apply Taylor Polynomials in approximating a given function, so make sure to watch this video!

Calculating 10^0.1 by Hand
In this video I go over how to manually calculate powers 10^0.1, 10^0.2, 10^0.3, ..., 10^0.9 by hand by first using the approximation 10^0.3 = 2. Calculating such powers by hand directly in the same way for multiplication and long division is not possible and requires the use of logarithms or Taylor series. Nonetheless, we can manually approximate such powers by realizing that 10^0.03 is approximately equal to 2 (with an error of -0.24%). This means we can approximate multiples of 10^0.03 by multiplying by 2. For example 10^0.06 is approximately equal to 4. Note that the error becomes double because we multiplied by 2. To get powers such as 10^0.1, we can multiply 10^(0.03 * 7) = 10^2.1 ≈ 2^7 = 128. Then we can divide both sides by 10^2 = 100 to get an approximation 10^0.1 ≈ 1.28. Applying the correction of 7*0.24% we obtain 10^0.1 ≈ 1.2585 which is very close to the actual number 1.2589.

In this video I have uploaded the 6th song titled "Osama" of the music album 1109 by Keor Meteor. This song outlines the role that CIA agent and patsy Osama bin Laden as a perennial "boogeyman" which the US can blame for anything and everything. Legendary radio broadcaster William "Bill" Cooper was the first to see through this farce, and Vice President Dick Cheney said the truth for the first time in his life. After Osama's (alleged) death, all criminal charges were dropped regarding 9/11 (of which he obviously had nothing to do with it) thus making him never formally charged and certainly not convicted even by mainstream standards.

🔺Giza Pyramid Geometry: Squaring the Circle by Length
In this video I show that the Great Pyramid of Giza has encoded within its geometry an approximation for squaring the circle by length. Squaring the circle involves constructing a square via a finite number of steps with only a straight edge and compass such that the square as the same area or perimeter / circumference as a given circle. The Giza Pyramid encodes this geometry in the slope of its middle cross section. Drawing 2 pyramids in mirror images of each other and setting the base length to 1 yields a square with a perimeter of 4 and a circle that is approximately 4. This is quite remarkable, and in my view is likely intentionally designed this way! Pretty remarkable stuff!

Slant Asymptote Lines + Special Case: Rational Functions and Long Division
In this video I go over Slant Asymptotes as well as the special case of finding Slant Asymptotes of Rational Functions through Polynomial Long Division. I actually briefly covered Slant asymptotes in my earlier video, so please ignore my statement in the video in which I said I should have covered this a long time ago, nonetheless I didn’t actually prove the special case in my earlier video. A slant asymptote is just that, an asymptote that is slanted, which is to say neither vertical nor horizontal. In other words a slanted asymptote is a linear function, and a function is said to have an slanted asymptote if it approaches the slanted line as x approaches positive or negative infinity. We can write this mathematically as the limit as x approaches infinity of the DIFFERENCE between the function and a linear function is equal to 0; i.e. the function is approaching the same value of the linear function.
The special case for slant asymptotes occurs for Rational Functions in which the degree (or highest power) of the numerator is ONE MORE than the degree of the denominator. Recall that a rational function is a division of two polynomials on the domain that the denominator is not equal to zero. Thus when we use polynomial long division to divide out these two polynomials, I show that we end up with a quotient that is in fact a linear function, i.e. has a degree of 1. And combined with the fact that the remainder has a degree less than the divisor or denominator, as shown by Euclidean Division for Polynomials, then the difference between the function and the linear quotient is simply equal to the remainder divided by the denominator. Now the limit of the latter, as I show in the video, is equal to 0 because the higher power denominator approaches infinity “faster” than the remainder thus obtaining a 1 divided by infinity scenario, i.e. approaches 0. And this proves the special case and the quotient is the linear function which is the slant asymptote.

True-False Quiz Question 22: Multiplication of Terms of Series May NOT Equal Multiplication of Sums
In this video I show that if we have two infinite series whose sums are A and B, then a third series comprising of both terms multiplied by each other may not sum to AB. I show this by considering two convergent Geometric Series. The first series has terms (0.1)^n and the sum is 1/9. The second series has terms (0.2)^n and the sum is 1/4. Thus AB = 1/36. If we multiplied the terms of each series to form a new series we get a series with terms (0.02)^n. The sum of this new series, using the formula for the sum of a convergent Geometric Series, is 1/49. But this is not the same as the value AB = 1/36. Thus the answer to our question is False.

In this video I uploaded the 4th song titled "Melted Vehicles" from the 1109 music album by Keor Meteor. This song focuses on the many toasted cars, trucks, and vehicles in general that underwent unconventional damage on 9/11. Many vehicles were melted, warped, distorted, burnt out, and even levitated. Some of the vehicles were blocks away from the World Trade Center (WTC) all while nearby trees and paper were undamaged. These toasted vehicles, along with the towers literally turning to dust, point towards exotic directed energy weaponry and the Hutchison Effect.

True-False Quiz Question 20: Subtracting Limits of Infinite Sequences
In this video I show that if a limit of a sequence is 2 then subtracting that same sequence from itself becomes 0 regardless if we start from n + 3 or n. This is because as n approaches infinity, then so does n + 3, that is infinity + 3 is STILL infinity. Thus substracting the two sequences cancel out and the answer is 0. And the answer to the question is True.

Slant Asymptote Lines: Example 1: Rational Function
In this video I go over a quick example on Slant Asymptote Lines and this time look again at the special case, which is a rational function in which the numerator has a degree just one higher than the denominator. The example I cover is determining the slant asymptote line of the function f(x) = x^3/(x^2+1). Since it is a rational function, i.e. a division of two polynomials, and with the numerator a degree of 3, which is one more than the numerator’s degree of 2, we can simply use polynomial long division because as illustrated in my earlier video, the quotient is the asymptote line, and in this case is y = x. Nonetheless, I prove that the quotient is in fact the linear asymptote by applying the definition of a slanted asymptote, which is the limit as x approaches infinite of the difference between f(x) and its linear or slanted asymptote must approach zero, which it in fact does in this case. Graphing the two functions, we can clearly see that f(x) approaches y = x on both the positive and negative infinity scales. This is a very good video into illustrating how to solve for slanted asymptotes for rational functions, so make sure to watch this video!

True-False Quiz Question 19: Proof that 0.99999... = 1 (Convergent Geometric Series)
In this video I show that the number 0.99999.... can be written as a convergent geometric series whose sum is equal to 1. The number 0.99999... can be written as 0.9 + 0.09 + 0.009 + ... which can further be written as 0.9 + 0.9(0.1) + 0.9(0.1)^2 + ... which is just a geometric series. In our case, r = 0.1 and is less than 1, thus the geometric series is convergent and we can apply the formula for the sum, which is just 1. Thus the answer to the question is True: 0.99999 ... = 1. Fascinating stuff!

True-False Quiz Question 18: Convergence by the Ratio Test
In this video I go over a quick question that involves applying the Ratio Test to find that a series is convergent and thus the terms approach zero as n goes to infinity. If every term of a sequence is greater than zero, and the ratio of each next term to the current term is less than 1 as n approaches infinity, then this is merely the Ratio Test for a convergent series. Thus, if a series is convergent, its terms approach zero, and the answer to our question is True.
