These words, have out last evil tormentors, brutal dictators, explosions, raids, trails of tears, and even several Holocaust, just to name a few. These words are eternal. I Pray as we Light up our Hanukkah candles this night and for the next 7 nights, we remember the spoken then printed words of the Maccabean times are not just a story of how HaShem can and will bring His people to victory...... if and when we seek Him and stay right to Him and His Torah. Let this be a reminder of those who have died so that we might be here today to be a light to nations. More than just stories or words on a page or scroll. This is our Heritage and Inheritance. Today we are going to go over our Jewish terminology for the week. This weeks word is: Judeo-Spanish This is an English word. My person JPS dictionary defines Judea-Spanish as .. The romance language spoken by Sephardic Jews, especially in Turkey, the Balkans, and North Africa. Also called Judezmo. When Spanish Jews were expelled from Spain in 1492, they settled in new countries around the Mediterranean; their 15 century Castilian Spanish fused with Turkish, Arabic, Greek, and Hebrew words to create Judeo-Spanish, which is considered the Sephardic counterpart to Yiddish. The term "Ladino" is commonly used in place of Judeo-Spanish, although Ladino is actually the written liturgical language of the Sephardim. I find Judeo- Spanish easier to understand and learn. This is probably because I grew up loosely "speaking" Spanish, but always hearing Spanish. And by Spanish I mean El Paso Tex-mex Mexican/Spanish slang... and you have to go there to know what I am talking about. I had a dream: Oct 2, 2022 I had a dream or vision. My dream woke me in shock. Well, I thought I woke up. In my dream I hurt my right big toe. It was quite painful. I cut it on a stone as I was walking. I did my best to continue to walk. I tried to ignore that pain. When I could no longer stand the pain… I sat down, held my right foot and noticed there was a cut. It was not bleeding. I was confused… was this a cut or did I simply injure my right big toe? I asked my Angel… “Why did he allow me to stream my toe?” I continued by saying, “ I thought you were supposed to make sure that I never strike my foot against a stone?” The answer my Angel gave me was not spoken, but was somehow known in my spirit. “Sometimes a little foot stub is necessary for growth.” I then whined,” But, my toe is cut or feels cut….it hurts!” I was answered with, “Big pain….Big growth.” Hearing this answer was calming to me. I had peace knowing although I was currently in pain… the pain was necessary for what ever part of my early destiny. #thankyouHaShem I replied, “oh ok then… it was fine.” And in my acceptance of the pain and that the pain was for a glorious reason…. Shalom Children of G-d! Welcome back to Marie Speaks G-d’s Grace Bible Study. Today we are going to go over our Jewish terminology for the week. This weeks word is:Maccabiah Games! As someone who grew up playing sports.... I am truly feeling this weeks term and have a deep appreciation for those even try to participate in the games. The discipline it takes to be an athlete is in my opinion almost the same discipline needed to serve int he military or law enforcement. Some many of my childhood wonderful memories involve sports and the wonderful coaches and team mates that I was so very Blessed to have in my life. If I could live a couple of years over again and truly take in the moments.... those sports years would be some. I would also make sure to let those who volunteered and supported us growing up know that ... they weren't just my coaches or assistance coaches; no. In many ways they were my mentors. I learned to give back to my community from my coaches. I learned team work. Which no doubt helped out when I joined the United States Marines years later. I learned to train when in off season and always know may greatest competition was myself. What to expect this lesson? This lesson we will continue in Moses’ of Blessed memory speech to the Nation of Israel before His death and the Nation of Israel carrying on to the Promise Land. This lesson will review the remaining verse of the portion Deuteronomy (Vaetchanan) began at Devarim ch 3 verse 23.
