Betka River Mouth Sunny Afternoon in Mallacoota 15 April 2023
As the sun sank low in the western sky
White puffy clouds caught the eye
Light trees swayed in the warm breeze
A peaceful day by the river, the mind at ease
Swimmers enjoyed the river's gentle flow
Children laughed as they built castles in the sand below
The high tide brought clear green waves in
Mixing with the coffee stained water from upstream, a mesmerizing spin
Only a few people dotted the wide sandbar
A small coastal vegetation and a path to the lookout not too far
The river's mouth opened up to the sea
A serene beauty, a sight to behold, truly free
As the day drew to a close
A sense of tranquility arose
The river's gentle flow and the waves' lullaby
A perfect harmony, beneath the wide open sky.

Betka River Mouth Mallacoota High Tide 14 April 2023 drone 4k
As I flew my drone over the Betka river and beach, I could see the high tide slowly but surely coming in. The water was crystal clear and reflected the brilliant blue sky above. From above, I could see people on the beach, enjoying the sun and the surf. A few brave swimmers were already in the water, while others were wading in slowly. The waves were gentle, yet powerful, and crashed against the shore with a calming rhythm. As the drone flew higher, I could see the river winding its way inland, surrounded by lush green trees and shrubs. The whole scene was breathtaking, and I was grateful to have the opportunity to capture it from a bird's eye view."
Waves crash and foam,
The ocean comes alive
Betka's river mouth
A sight to revive
Drone soars up high
Capturing the scene
The water and sky
A wonder to be seen
High tide rushes in
Crystal clear and green
The beach a place to swim
The beauty is serene

Betka River Mouth Breakout Mallacoota 14 April 2023 drone 4k
As the morning light streamed in, I headed to Betka to catch the low tide with the coffee-colored river water running out. The sun glinted off the water and white clouds dotted the sky as I flew my drone over the sandy beaches and rocky outcrops. From above, I could see the intricate patterns left in the sand by the retreating tide, and the exposed rocks jutting out of the water like jagged teeth. It was a peaceful and serene scene, and the drone allowed me to capture it from a unique perspective.
Soft sand, gentle breeze,
Morning light with coffee's ease,
Betka River runs out to the sea.
White clouds, sky so blue,
Afternoon sun shining through,
Crystal clear ocean rushes anew.
Dogs playing, swimmers glide,
High tide coming in with the tide,
Betka Beach a place to abide.

Betka River Breakthrough Mallacoota 13 April 2023 4k drone
Last night, nature put on a stunning display as the Betka River broke through to the ocean. The river rushed out with incredible force, carving a deep channel and exposing sand banks and rocks on either side. The brown water mixed with the sea, creating a beautiful blend of colors, while the foam from the waves washed back onto the shore. It was truly a spectacular sight to behold.
As a nature enthusiast and a videographer, I couldn't resist capturing this moment. I took video footage, as well as 360 and 180-degree panoramas of the scene. The 360 and 180-degree panoramas allow viewers to experience the beauty of the Betka River breakthrough in a unique and immersive way.
The 360-degree panorama takes you right into the middle of the action, where you can see the river flowing into the ocean, and the waves crashing onto the shore. You can even look up and see the sky above. Meanwhile, the 180-degree panorama captures the full expanse of the scene, from the river to the ocean, showcasing the beauty of the natural landscape.
It's moments like these that remind us of the incredible power and beauty of nature. I'm grateful for the opportunity to witness and capture this spectacular event, and I hope my videos and panoramas will allow others to experience the wonder of the Betka River breakthrough as well.
https://mallacoota2020.com.au/betka-river-breakthrough-13-april/
The river's been held back so long
Behind the sandy, narrow tongue
But now the Betka's broken through
Its power and force, a sight so new
The rushing water carves its way
Through rocks and banks, no time to stay
Its muddy hue, mixed with the blue
A turbulent blend, a stunning view
The foam it churns, a frothy white
As waves crash in with all their might
The Betka's might is on display
A force of nature, here to stay
The breakthrough's done, the river's free
Its journey to the sea to be
A spectacle that's sure to please
A sight that will forever seize.

Betka River Mouth, closed, will burst through soon 10 April 23
Today, I had the pleasure of capturing a truly remarkable sight: the Betka River Mouth on the brink of bursting through. It was a great sight to behold, and I am thrilled to share it with you.
Flying the drone around the area was a bit of a challenge, with strong gusts of wind that required careful maneuvering. Thankfully, the drone handled it well, allowing me to capture the incredible scene from every angle.
The video showcases the Betka River's clear coffee-coloured water pushing against the thin sandbar, separating it from the ocean. It's a stunning sight to see the calm river water contrasting with the dark green-grey waves crashing onto the beach.
This natural wonder is a reminder of the power and beauty of nature. We must cherish and protect these wonders as we continue to develop and grow as a society.

Walking on Water Betka River Mouth 10 April 2023
The video captures a serene and beautiful scene of a mother walking across the sandbar, holding back the Betka River from the ocean. The overcast grey sky adds a soft touch to the moment, creating a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. As the mother strolls across the sandbar, she casually picks up her son's hat that had blown off in the wind. Meanwhile, her son is playing on the beach, jumping, running, and collecting shells. The image looking across the river towards the beach and ocean reveals the breathtaking natural beauty of the surroundings. Large waves are crashing on the beach, creating a stunning contrast between the calm river and the tumultuous ocean. The mother and son's love for each other is evident in their joyous and carefree demeanor. Overall, the video is a wonderful reminder of the beauty of nature and the love that binds us together.
A mother walks across the sandbar wide,
Her love for her child a constant guide,
The Betka River held at bay,
By nature's force she makes her way.
Her son plays on the beach so free,
Collecting shells with youthful glee,
As waves crash on the shore so wild,
The mother and child, they both smile.
The overcast sky sets the mood,
A moment of peace, a moment of good,
The mother picks up the hat with ease,
A simple act of love and pleas.
The beauty of nature all around,
The river, the ocean, the sand and sound,
A mother's love, a child's delight,
A moment captured, a moment so bright.

Bekta River Mouth 8 April 2023, drone 4k windy with a rainbow
Today's short drone flight was a bit challenging due to the windy gusts of over 30 knots and occasional rain showers, but I managed to capture some fascinating footage. The sky was covered with many clouds, but the sun managed to peek through for a short time, and I took the opportunity to fly my drone. The Betka River Mouth is still closed, with a thin sand bar holding back a lot of clean, clear, coffee-colored water. The ocean, with its dark green-grey color and small waves, was a stunning sight. Strong gusts of wind were blowing over the river, creating an interesting contrast between the calm water and the turbulent air above. To top it off, a beautiful rainbow appeared on the horizon over the ocean, making the flight even more special. Despite the weather conditions, it was an excellent opportunity to capture some unique footage of the Betka River Mouth, and I'm looking forward to sharing it with my followers.
The river flows, coffee-colored and clear,
Held back by a thin bar of sand so near,
The ocean roars, with waves so small yet bold,
A view so stunning, one can't help but behold.
The wind gusts fiercely, over the river wide,
The clouds above, in formation they glide,
The sun peeks out, for a moment so brief,
A view so surreal, it's hard to believe.
A rainbow forms, over the horizon afar,
A wonder of nature, a sight so bizarre,
The view from above, so enchanting and rare,
A moment in time, beyond compare.

It was a perfect sunny and warm afternoon when I decided to visit South Betka Beach. As I walked along the shore, I couldn't help but feel the calm and serenity that this beautiful beach has to offer.
The low tide had left a wide stretch of beach, exposing numerous rocks that gave the place a unique and natural look. With hardly anyone else around, it felt like the whole beach was mine to enjoy.

Betka River & Beach 28 March 2023 by drone 4k
From the Betka River Mouth car park, I launched my drone into the sky and began the flight, capturing stunning aerial photographs of the beautiful landscape. The clear, coffee-colored water of the Betka River opened up to the stunning green-blue sea as I flew towards the sandbar that blocked its exit.
As I flew backwards, I captured panoramic shots of the entire area, showcasing the unique coastline rocks and cliffs. The gentle breeze and smallish white-capped waves hitting the shore provided a relaxing atmosphere as I flew sideways to the south to explore the scenic South Betka Beach.
Half-tide at the Mermaid Rock Pool, the sand provided more space than the last time I visited. Later, I couldn't resist diving into the refreshing pool and enjoying the experience of the waves breaking into it, giving me a champagne bubble bath.
The drone then flew across the cliffs and dunes to capture the bend in the Betka River before heading back to the beach. With the camera pointed straight down, I flew back north along the beach, capturing stunning shots of the Mermaid Rock Pool at the start of South Betka Beach.
From the north side of the river mouth, I filmed another breathtaking view. I took several 180 panoramas along the way. To top it off, I captured a 360 view of the stunning coastal landscape, which I will post on my blog, www.coota.au, in the next day or so.

South Betka Beach 15 March Autumn 2023
As a local in Mallacoota, I've visited Surf South Beach many times, but each time, I'm still amazed by its natural beauty. To get there, it's an easy 300-meter walk along the beach to the south from the Betka River Mouth car park.
Surf South Beach is a 400-meter long sandy beach that is dotted with numerous rocks and remnants of bluffs. The steep 20-meter-high bluffs along the southern half of the beach provide a dramatic backdrop that makes it feel like a hidden paradise. The crystal-clear water and white clouds in the distance make it a picture-perfect destination.
One of my favourite spots at Surf South Beach is the Mermaid Pool, a small rock pool with small waves breaking into it. It's like having your own private swimming pool, and it's a great spot to relax and take in the stunning surroundings. To get to the Mermaid Pool, you need to wade around the rocks at the end of the beach, but it's well worth it. There's a small pebbly beach and a path behind it that leads to the Mermaid Pool.
I also love taking my drone to Surf South Beach to capture the stunning scenery and create beautiful videos. It's a great place to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life and enjoy the peace and quiet of the secluded beach.
Overall, Surf South Beach is a hidden gem on the Australian coastline that I highly recommend visiting. It's a great destination for anyone looking for a quiet, secluded, and stunning beach experience.

Far-Side of Lake Mallacoota 20 February Summer 23 by drone 4k
In this video, you'll see a breathtaking aerial view of Mallacoota, starting from about 3km outside of the township. The drone flies across the lake, capturing stunning shots of the numerous fishing boats dotting the surface, before reaching the John Bull mark near Rabbit Island. From there, the drone turns towards Harrison's Chanel, passing by Horse and Goat Island and making its way towards the mouth of the lake, where you can see the ocean running in. You'll get a good view of Bastion Point and the boat ramp. The drone then turns back, flying over the Foreshore Holiday Park, which is half-full of campers. You'll get a great view of Captain Stevenson's Point and the fishing boats moored on the bank.
From this incredible view, I've created a stunning panorama print, made by stitching together a series of photos taken from the far side of the lake. I took clouds from photos taken last month. The print showcases the natural beauty of the area, with its crystal-clear waters and lush greenery. The image features a wide-angle view that spans from left to right, allowing you to see the entire expanse of the lake and the town beyond. The town sits on the edge of the water, with its colourful buildings and surrounding bushland creating a picturesque scene.
There are several options available to purchase this print. The handmade original version with a 6x1cm recycled hardwood frame is available for pickup or local delivery and costs $495.
