Franklin Brothers Band @ Phoenix | 100 Days 100 Nights
The popular Franklin Brothers Band from New London, CT mixed up some originals, new material and classic pop covers, bringing a very entertaining, well done show to Pawcatuck, CT’s Phoenix nightclub. I’ll have more footage with some nice camera flyarounds in the next few days from this show. For now, here’s a Franklin Brothers original, 100 Days, 100 Nights, featuring Nichelle Rollins on lead vocals, to start today’s musical feast!
From the Franklin Brothers website: Hailing from New London, CT, the Franklin Brothers Band consists of brothers Jay Franklin (keyboards and vocals) and Carl Franklin (guitars and vocals) alongside a killer line-up of impeccable local musicians. The current configuration includes Dave Cafro on trumpet, Rob Funk on trombone, Cedric Mayfield and Gary Boigen on saxes, Tom DaFaria on drums, Nick Cancelmo on bass, local legend Che Cartafalsa on percussion, and Nichelle Rollins on lead and backup vocals.

20th Century Kids Debut at the Phoenix Sunday May 2, 2021
Comprised of five seasoned veterans of the southeastern CT music scene. Their set list contains music that spans five decades, and ranges from hard rock to reggae to dance music.
The lineup consists of three vocalists, two guitars, bass, keyboard and drums. Sharing lead vocal duty are two of the area's most well-known young singers, Rickie Louise Miller and Brian Merritt. Rickie, who sings, plays percussion and rhythm guitar, is a current lead vocalist in the well-loved dance band Sugar, and previously sang with the popular MA band Fever. Brian was previously a long-time vocalist and lead guitar player in the rock band Wicked Peach. On drums is Mike Winslow, former drummer of the original rock band Incognito Sofa Love, and currently playing drums with the jazz band The Subliminals. Bassist Emily Winters, who also sings backup vocals, has played in a number of original bands in the area, and may even surprise audiences with her skills on violin. Accomplished jazz keyboardist Adam Anderson rounds out the group and adds an edge of originality to all of the well-known cover songs the band brings to the stage.

Mark Urso @ River Song | Rollin'
A great old Randy Newman Song.
I originally heard this on a Mollie O'Brien album.
Performed by Mark Urso
Rollin
I never drink in the afternoon
I never drink alone
But I sure do like a drink or two
When I get home!
Every evening what I do
I sit here in this chair
I pour myself some whiskey
And watch my troubles vanish into the air
Rollin', I'm rollin'
Ain't gonna worry no more!
Rollin', rollin'
Ain't gonna worry no more!
I used to worry about gamblin'
Throwin' my money away
I used to worry about wastin' time
Layin' round the house all day!
But I'm alright now!
I'm alright now
I never thought I'd make it but I always do somehow!
I'm alright now!
Rollin', I'm rollin'
Ain't gonna worry no more!
Rollin', rollin'
Ain't gonna worry no more!
