I've been a long-time general game dev, but I never took the time to really release anything when I made Doom wads. After finding myself with a lot of spare time suddenly, I decided to sit down with DoomBuilder and take a crack at actually completing something for Doom. Specifically Doom 1.
This replaces E1M1 for Doom and is meant as a self-contained single level. My goal was to stay strict to the Doom engine and level design guidelines of original Doom.
Tested thoroughly in all difficulties (except Nightmare). UV should be resource-tight, but doable.
I'm considering this a late beta release for now, because I'd really like feedback before calling it done. There's a known bug that's keeping this map from working in Chocolate Doom (GZDoom works as intended, Zandronum untested). Any feedback would be much appreciated, especially call outs of texture alignment problems and help on how to fix a broken floor so that it'll work in vanilla Doom."

"Judgment Day was a combination Halloween party, game developer convention, informal press conference, and entertainment event for the public at large organized by Microsoft and held on October 30, 1995 - also called "Devil's Night". Primarily organized by then-Microsoft employee and principal architect of DirectX, Alex St. John, the event brought together 35 game developers, including id Software, who were given center stage for the event via inclusion of the finals for Deathmatch '95, a previously organized and officially sponsored DWANGO multiplayer tournament for Doom and Doom II. Doom95 would play a pivotal role in the event as a part of Microsoft's continuing strategy to promote Windows 95's potential as a gaming platform. The event also served as the official release party for Raven Software's last Doom engine game, Hexen: Beyond Heretic."

"A significant part of the kick-off for the event was to be a video featuring Microsoft CEO Bill Gates being blue-screened into Doom. Alex St. John initially met yet more resistance from Microsoft PR while trying to secure access to the executive, and he eventually bypassed them entirely, bringing the proposal directly to Gates himself. Gates accepted the idea, albeit without an entirely clear picture of what form it would yet take. According to St. John, Microsoft had already been "into making funny viral videos" featuring Gates and fellow executive Steve Ballmer, and this acceptance from Gates was mostly expected by St. John, who found Gates to have a liking for his proposals.
St. John states that on the day of recording, Bill Gates arrived with only 20 minutes to spend on the project. Again, PR attempted to micro-manage the recording, and growing frustrated, Gates himself turned to St. John and asked, "What do you want me to do?" Alex handed the CEO a trench coat and a shotgun and gave him his lines. The video was recorded in a single take, without any prompter or notes, and without rehearsal.
St. John would again insert the phrase, "Who do you want to execute today?", a play on Microsoft's "Where do you want to go today?" promotion, at the end of the video, in part to spite the executive who earlier threatened to fire him over its use.

"BloodCM (formerly Blood TC until June 2013; not to be confused with the earlier Doom engine based Blood TC), or Blood Crossmatching, is a project to create a Blood total conversion for EDuke32, an engine derived from the Duke Nukem 3D source code and a branch of Build called EDuke. Interestingly, EDuke was started by former Blood project manager Matt Saettler originally for use in the GT Interactive published title NAM, under the direction of Blood producer Rick Raymo.
The project was led by Alexander "M210" Makarov. Work on the project started on January 14, 2008, originally just planning to port over the game's levels, and the first release was was put out on September 28, 2012. Maps were converted using the Blud2Build tool, but this only offered them the basic level geometry and sprites, requiring much of the dynamic elements to be recreated.
The effort was declared completed on January 9, 2017 with version v12_2016. Containing the complete retail and Plasma Pak episodes and featuring reverse engineered game logic, BloodCM is considered to be the most accurate total conversion replicating Blood; in many ways completing the ambitions of earlier efforts such as Transfusion and ZBlood. The rise of more accurate source ports, starting with Makarov's own BloodGDX and the EDuke derived NBlood and Raze, has reduced the relevancy of such recreations however. It has also been supplanted by the official remaster Blood: Fresh Supply."
