This is how we grow Shitake mushrooms. We cut red oak logs and drill 5/16" holes about every 6 inches or so and tap in spawn from Northspore. We seal the holes with Gulf Wax and stack... 6 months to a year later they start producing great tasting Shitake Mushrooms.

Initially thought there were 4 but we found another buried up in the hay... so far so good as of 11/19/20

American Guinea Hog Piglets... These are 2 litters born here on the homestead...Older video but we still keep one of these sows for breeding

Our dog loves when new piglets get moved to the pen... Playing with them through the fence is his favorite pastime... precious

New piglets ... we have boars and sows so this is pretty common here :-)

new batch of meat chickens in the brooder. We usually brood for 3-4 weeks then tractor in a field for another 5 weeks then butcher.

Mr. Rufus and Ms. Timber play fighting like they always do... LOL

My tractor 3 point mounted fence auger built from a truck rear end and mounted on a "Pig Pole" works very well... :-)

We raise American Guinea Hogs here on the homestead. A very gentle easy to manage breed that can thrive in wooded areas or pasture. They only grow to around 200 lbs but they eat what they forage and a little grain.

Watch this chicken in it's final push to get out of the egg after a 21 day stay in the incubator here on the homestead.

Update of the planting of a "3 Sisters" garden here on the homestead. A Native American technique for planting utilizing space and fertilizer to it's highest potential. 3 Plants in one space and the plants assist each other... Ingenious method that everyone should try... We had great success with it here on the homestead. Corn, Pole Beans and various Squash plants.
