Pick up some hula hoops at Walmart and try these outdoor decorating ideas on a budget. I went to the store and grabbed some hula hoops along with black matte spray paint, I took the hoops out to my garden and decided to attach them to my house using small poultry staples. I then slipped a piece of pipe cleaner through the hole and attached the hoop twisting the ends together. I used black electrical tape to join the hoops together. To attach the plant, I carefully moved each stem, bundling some together and following the curve of the hoop. Let's run on down to Walmart to grab your favorite inexpensive bucket! Start by getting those handles off, we don't need those! Take them off both sides, they clip right off. Next, we're going to take that bucket and flip it over. We need to set in two strips of wood that are gonna fit right on the edge. Just go ahead and set it down there, no need for a tape measure and just mark it with a pencil. What you're going to need is definitely two of these, just use your favorite saw, it's easy to do! Next, stack them on there and make sure they fit just right inside the grooves. Then, you can use some hot glue just three good dabs on the edge we'll do it. Just flip it over and press it against the plastic. Now I know what you're thinking, this glue does not hold permanently. That's okay! We just needed to hold until we can flip it back over so do that to both pieces right on the edge and just hold it down till it sets (takes about 20 seconds). Next, flip the bucket over and what you're going to do is grab just some small little screws, they don't need to be long, we don't want them to pop out through the end of the wood, so just take your drill and put it right in two or three in each strip of wood will be just right. Just put it in there and don't over-tighten -that's going to hold it in place. Now it's time to put on the wheels. I got these little inexpensive caster wheels, but I need the drill bit to be just the right size and we're going to mark it one inch from each side of the wood. We're going to put four of these legs on, so once you get them marked let's go ahead and we're going to drill it. You can just drill all the way through the plastic, it's not going to be a problem because when we set the leg in it's going to block the hole so these little wheels are perfect. Now it's time to take that hot glue, put it right on the edge of the hole there and put the leg on. It's going to hold it just great. If you don't want to use hot glue and you want a little different glue, go ahead it'll work. Also just let it set up, I like using hot glue because it's fast. Once we get the legs in, look at this! They are excellent, exactly what we need now it's time to go ahead and decorate the bucket. I grabbed this twine over at Dollar Tree. Just take again our favorite hot glue, put it right on the edge, this is our starter piece, just stick it right on there you want to make sure this first row is perfect. I use the edge of this bucket right on this line and that's going to be what I call my datum line. Just go ahead and set it all the way around and we're going to go around the whole bucket. Once you get that on it's time to take a little bit of your inexpensive fabric, cut about 12 inches wide we're going to use that hot glue again and we're going to fold over the edge that's going to give us a nice edge. To finish this off, what I did was I just worked my way down with that hot glue and kept folding it over, be careful because it can get a little hot. Once we get both edges nice and done, what we're going to do is fold it over the bucket. It's going to cover all that plastic. Get that glue right on that last bit of rope right there, spread it over and just mark it down right there. We're going to take this all the way around the bucket. Look at this! This is going to be a great container. We can store books, dog toys, or even toys for the grandkids - it turned out great! I hoped you loved this DIY rolling basket. It's time to head down to Five Below to grab you one of them inexpensive rugs, But first, why don't we grab some hula hoops? We're gonna need to spray paint those your favorite color. I wanted this to be a nice little teal color because it's going to match the inside of our house. I'm gonna need two hula hoops. Once you give that some time to dry, bring it on inside, set your hula hoop down, and we need two pieces of board, this one is what we call a one-by-three, which means it's three inches wide and only one inch thick. I'm going to mark it exactly where I want to cut it on the hula hoop. I'm going to set this over here at about 33 degrees and give it a cut right on those marks, that way it's beveled exactly with the hula hoop. Now, I'm going to use this to measure the next one and make sure that I have two pieces. Once we got those cut, bring them back inside. You're going to set those exactly the same distance apart from the top and the bottom. This video doesn't do it justice, I promise that they're both evenly spaced. Once you get them spaced, let's go ahead and mark the ones on the bottom hula hoop and I'll explain why we've got to put some hot glue down. I know hot glue is just temporary but that's exactly what we're going to use it for, just temporary to hold the wood in place on the bottom hula hoop, so just get it, put a little dab on there and place it, make sure it's equal distance on both of them from the top and the bottom. Once you get that set up go ahead and place the top one on. You're going to make sure it's matched perfectly to the one on the bottom. Pre-drill it, and use a screw that will go through the hula hoop into the wood. It doesn't have to be too long, just enough to grip it. Once we do that, let's lay that rug out that we got at Five Below. We're gonna take the hula hoop and lay it out on there. This one has a design in the middle and I want it right centered in front of there, so take a black marker and go ahead and mark around the hula hoop right on the inside because that's going to be our cut line. We want to cut it right down that black marker and I was really shocked at how well it cut. We're going to go ahead and lay it out, but remember, you got to turn it upside down because this is going to be the back of our project. Lay it out and again and it's time to grab that hot glue. We're going to go ahead and put this down, it's going to tack it down for us. Don't go sparingly with it, go ahead and put a lot down and that way you can smooth it out. The rug was just thick enough where I wasn't too worried about burning myself with the glue. Go ahead and put this up and then it's time to go ahead on the front and put some hooks on and I'll show you why we're going to do that just some simple hooks will be great. Let's hang it up. Now, remember those screws that we use, let's hide those with a little string from Dollar Tree and it's time to decorate. Head on over to the dollar store to pick up a baking pan for this genius DIY home hack! Start with a baking pan and fill it with a bunch of marbles. Remove the back off the glue dots and then peel off the backing. Place it onto the bottom of the baking sheet and flip them back over. As you can see here this swivels really nicely. Next, take a cooling rack and bend up either side. Now, tip those cooling racks up and tie the top of the cooling racks together as well as the bottom. Place the glue dots onto the baking sheet and take those cooling racks and stick them onto the glue dots and press firmly to make sure they adhere well. To start this project, I want to remove everything but the main section of this lamp I'm going to add the glue to each of the joints and then leave it all to dry. I found these signs at the dollar store and I'm going to add a thinner wood round, a little wood glue will hold this into place perfectly. I'm going to find the middle and use the top of the lamp to trace a little circle. Now, I'm ready to paint. I'm going to use the white chalky paint to cover both the base of the lamp and the wood. I want to attach the wood top to the lamp the circle that I drew before is going to help me so the lamp is correctly centered add some glue and then I can join them together and it'll be nice and solid. Is your closet a hot mess? Maybe a little disorganized and cluttered? Well, today we will go over some tips, tricks and hacks. The first thing I'm going to do is remove everything from my closet, so I can start with a clean slate. I'm going to remove all the shoes, coats, and everything on the shelves completely. Once everything is out you can see how much clutter and mess was sitting inside that closet, but before we go through that, we need to clean our space. We're going to start by cleaning out the closet. I grabbed my vacuum cleaner first and I'm cleaning the floor of the closet as well as the baseboards and then I'm also going to vacuum off the shelves and the entire closet first because there's a lot in there that needs to be sucked out first before I can get a nice efficient clean. Next, I'm going to take a damper egg and I'm going to wipe down all of the shelves the hanging rack, the floor, the baseboards, the walls and get it nice and good and clean. I'm going to place a shoe organizer into the bottom of the closet and I'm going to look at all the shoes we have. What I've calculated is each family member, and there are four of us, can have about four pairs of shoes that will fit on a shelf, so each family member gets a shelf and four pairs of shoes that you use the most often. Now I'm going to teach you a little thing my mom had taught me and I passed this on to my kids: I'm going to take my mittens and place them into my hat. I'm also going to squeeze my scarf into one sleeve of my coat and then the hat and mitten combination. I'm going to put in the other sleeve of the coat. Place your snow pants onto your hanger and then place that inside, and now your whole outfit is complete. Now we're going to talk about some of the things we can do with the shelves and one of the things I like to do is get some white baskets and I can even write the name of the family member on the basket so they can reach up and know that that's their basket. My husband has a lot of hats so I'm going to place hats in one of his baskets and you can stack them or you can fold them up whichever you prefer and place them in there the same can be done of any hats gloves scarves anything like that and you can have a basket per family member on the shelves another way you can hang up some of your accessories is to get a dollar store trash can I placed chalk stickers on the front of those trash cans and labeled each one with our names on it then inside of our laundry room. We have a coat hanging rack above that I've placed four Command hooks so that each family member has their own Command hook and then I place the trash cans on the Command hooks. Time to run down to your local baker and grab a big old container of cookies… Even though those cookies are yummy, we want that decorative lid. It is perfect for this project. Let’s get started: We're going to measure it straight across and get about 10 inches. Lay out some cardboard and we're going to pick a bowl that's round for us to mark and this one is a perfect size. Just go ahead and lay it on the cardboard and take a marking pin to get you that perfect circle. Now it's time to mix up our cement. The best way to do it is to pour a little bit of water into your mixing bucket first and then go ahead and add your concrete. A word of advice: do this in a well-ventilated area, you can tell that it gets pretty dusty. If you need a little bit more water, just add it. Now I use my drill and a mixing spoodle to put it together. If you need to hand mix it, go ahead, just do a little bit at a time so it's not too hard. Once we get it mixed, carefully lay it inside the bucket. You can see the consistency here is like some really good pudding, just put it in. Now once you get the right amount in, you're going to go ahead and just shake it all up. This allows that concrete to spread and fill all the little gaps. If you need to add a little bit more, remember, just shake it back and forth. Cut some strips of wood, this one is going to be a full 10 inches across and the other ones are going to be four each. So, you're going to put the large one first and then glue up the ends of the other two pieces. Don't be hesitant to use your finger to spread them out; this is non-toxic glue. Lay it out and fold it in. We want to make sure that all the pieces of wood fit inside the circle. Now take some popsicle sticks and some hot glue, you're going to lay this across the top, this is going to be our clamp that is going to hold the pieces together while that wood glue dries. Once you get one side done, flip it over. We're gonna do the other side also exactly the same way as we did the first side. Once you get these pieces on, it's so strong you couldn't even pull them apart if you tried, and that's what we want. It's time to go ahead and drill them because we want to put these caster legs on there one for each side of the boards. So, take a drill that allows those caster wheels to go right inside and drill it all the way through. See that it fits great and all we need to do is take some hot glue, put it in and all four wheels go right in there. Now it's time to take those wood and the wheels and we're gonna just shake it back and forth let it sink right into the concrete this is what's going to hold it together, just keep shaking it, and once you get it in there it's going to hold just great. Let it dry for about 24 hours go ahead and turn it back over after that 24 hours is up we're going to use a knife and we're going to start cutting away the plastic, just do this because once you cut it, and be careful we don't want to cut up the side of the concrete, we need to get some air in there that's what's going to release our mold from from the concrete. Just keep working it all the way around the side and once you get it up, look at that! Look at that smooth beautiful concrete it looks like it even has a mirror finish to it. I couldn't have been more happy. Now it's time to go ahead and take it outside and test it make sure that it spins on those wheels and we've got the perfect base for a rolling planter. It works perfect, you can roll it around clean underneath and it looks great! Take 2 paper plates and use a hot glue gun to attach them on top of each other. Divide up the circle, and cut from the edge of the plate to the edge of each line drawn. Hot glue foam core circles to the center take twine and a hot glue gun to begin weaving the cord in and out of each piece when finished attach the lip of each part of the plate to the next with hot glue and flip the plate over to begin hot gluing the rope to cover the rust. Work upwards, laying the rope pieces directly on top of each other. Start at the center of the foam core base and begin hot gluing until the foam core is completely covered. Repeat the process on the bottom to create an X shape with two of the floral stem pieces. Use the thinner wire to secure them in the middle. Take some wood beads and slide them using hot glue to secure them to the wire so they don't move. Add a slight bend or arch to create the illusion of one thick arched piece. Take a long piece of wire-edged ribbon, cut it in half down the center create folds in a pattern that looks pretty and attach it to the top of the basket lip all the way around the circumference. Start with your first cut right on the end at 45 degrees and then you're going to measure right from the inside. Cut all the way down the length of the TV, that's where your next miter cut is going to be. Turn the saw to the other way and give it another 45-degree cut. Once you get that cut, you're going to go ahead and match it to the next part, that way you don't have to use a tape measure, and you can get the top and bottom frame the exact same size - just use a pen to mark it out and cut it. Once you get all four pieces cut, lay it out and make sure it's all smooth and ready to go. The secret to this is you gotta have glue that's going to hold all the pieces together. Now just don't lay out a bead, you want to smooth it out so it has as much adhesion as possible. The glue is laid out just go ahead and put it right up next to it and make sure you get those nice smooth lines. Next you got to get some flat corner braces, that's what's going to hold these frames together. Mark out the holes, be careful, we need to pre-drill all the holes, that way the screws hold inside this MDF wood as easily as possible. Once you pre-drill the screws, go in without drilling, you can just use a regular old screwdriver to put them in. Make sure you get it nice and tight but don't over tighten, we just want to make sure it's snug and it's holding in place. These corner braces do a great job holding it together. Once you get all four sides, we got to build a box, that way we can cover the sides of the TV. I use a little bit of 1 by 4. Use that glue it holds the sides together again, we're going to use 45-degree cuts. Look how smooth that is, you can use screws or nails but I go ahead and use a brad nailer. it's really easy to use and it puts a nice fine fastener right inside. I just use three on the side and it gives it a nice smooth look. Now again we're going to go with the glue we got to put it all the way around the box frame we just built because we're going to lay the frame on top. If you measured right and did good and took your time it's going to fit just right the last thing you need to do on this is use the brad nailer again and put just a few brad nails to hold it together. Once you get those in, let's cover up the nail holes with a little bit of spackle. Just let that dry and sand it clean. Now it's time for some gold paint any type will work but as you can see it's going to take a couple of coats I did put three coats on here. Let them dry for about half an hour in between coats. The next thing we got to do is we got to put a little bit of Velcro on the TV that's going to hold the frame in place once we install it it just looks amazing when you're not watching TV you've got your own portrait.
