Man Pulls Scissors Other Man Pulls Gun - Man With Gun Wins - Was It Justified?
Maybe?

NEW YORK -- A man wanted in connection to a double murder in New York was shot and killed during a confrontation with police on Wednesday morning.
He was taken to the hospital in critical condition where he later died of his injuries.
Jason Pass, 47, was wanted in a double fatal shooting of a father and son in Brooklyn Sunday night.
Pass was being sought in the murder of the residents in an upstairs East Flatbush apartment. He was identified from surveillance video recovered by police that shows the entire shooting.
Family members identified the victims as 47-year-old Bladimy Mathurin and his 27-year-old son Chinwai Mode.
Officials said they attempted to pull Pass' vehicle over just after 7 a.m. Wednesday after a license plate reader indicated the car was connected to the case.
When police approached the parked vehicle, they say he jumped out of the car with a knife in his hand. Once officers caught up to him, they talked for 15 minutes to convince the suspect to drop the knife.
Police said the suspect charged at the officers who then fired their weapons in defense. The suspect was shot three times in the chest and once in the right leg.
Pass is a former transit conductor who worked for the MTA between 2012 and 2018.
The double shooting appears to be the result of a yearslong dispute over noise between the neighbors. Six 311 calls were made from Pass' apartment since March 8, 2022, complaining about the noise from the upstairs apartment.

Portland Man Plows Through Parade Because He Was Stuck In Traffic
Oct 19, 2023
Newly obtained dashcam footage shows a Portland man plowing past blockades and nearly hitting several people including small children along the Rose Festival’s Grand Floral parade route in June.
Prosecutors submitted the dramatic video, taken from Sidney Mecham’s own dash cams, as evidence during an August preventative detention hearing. It shows three different angles of what happened that day.

His music blaring, Mecham heads toward the Rose Quarter in North Portland — where he had planned to meet others, including his mother. ODOT crews had blocked off numerous exits to help keep traffic away from the parade route. Mecham is heard getting agitated by the closures and heavy traffic.
The video shows Mecham driving through a row of barricades and nearly hitting people along the parade route.
Officers tried to stop him several times, but he got away. He eventually stopped and was arrested.

Bristol, Connecticut — On Thursday, October 5, 2023 at approximately 11:30 p.m., a lone female, later identified as 51-year-old Suzanne Laprise, entered the lobby of the Bristol Police Department at 131 North Main Street. She approached the front lobby desk office windows and banged on the windows with a handgun. The front lobby desk was unoccupied at that time. After banging on the windows, Laprise fired multiple rounds into the windows. The rounds did not penetrate the bullet-resistant glass.
Officers attempted to open a dialogue with Laprise. During these efforts, Laprise discharged additional rounds in the direction of the officers. Officer Spencer Boisvert then returned fire, firing two shots. The bullet-resistant glass stopped all rounds and no one was hit. When Laprise set the handgun down, officers entered the lobby, deployed an electronic defense weapon, and took her into custody. Laprise was taken to Bristol Hospital for evaluation. She was later released and returned to the Bristol Police Department.

Police Bodycam - Cops Rescues Woman Chained In House Being Held Hostage
(Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) *
Louisville, Kentucky — On Wednesday, August 16, 2023, around 7:00 p.m., Louisville Metro Police Officers were called to a home in the 1700 block of Bolling Avenue after calls came in from neighbors reporting a woman screaming for help. When the officers arrived, police said they heard and saw a woman in distress in the second-story window. Officers tried to get into the house from the front door but it was barricaded, so instead, they found a ladder and climbed in through the window. Once inside, police found the woman with a chain around her neck, which was secured by a MasterLock, and that chain was bolted to the floor with screws. Officers ripped the chain from the floor and rescued the woman from the home. She was immediately treated by first responders.
On August 18, 2023, Officers arrested 36-year-old Moises May in connection with the incident. According to May's arrest report, on Monday the woman and May had a verbal argument that became physical. May allegedly grabbed the victim and held her down on the bathroom floor while he took a machete to cut off the majority of her hair and slapped her before she was able to leave. When she came back to the home on Wednesday to get her belongings, May locked the doors with a deadbolt that only he had a key to, trapping her inside.
May forced the woman to take off some of her clothes and told her, “You’re gonna get it tonight. I told you the next time you leave and don’t come home, I’d kill you.” He also slapped her. Afterward, he took her upstairs and chained her to the floor before leaving the house, taking her phone with him. The woman was able to bust open a window and scream for help. Neighbors heard her screaming and called 911. Police said the woman and May have a child together. May is charged with kidnapping, wanton endangerment, assault and several other charges. He is currently being held on a $100,000 cash bond.

Bodycam Footage Fargo Police Shooting - Mohamed Barakat Shot Three Officers - Media Not Using T Word
* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) *
Fargo, North Dakota — On July 14, 2023, Fargo Police Officers were responding to a routine traffic accident on 25th Street South in Fargo on the afternoon when, 37-year-old Mohamed Barakat opened fire on officers and first responders with a .223 caliber rifle. Police Officers Andrew Dotas and Tyler Hawes were shot and critically injured. Officer Wallin ran toward Barakat’s vehicle, was able to unholster his weapon and fire one shot before he was hit by Barakat. Officer Wallin was fatally shot once by Barakat. Wallin’s training officer, Zach Robinson, engaged in gunfire with Barakat. Officer Robinson radios for help, reporting officers down, and continues to try to neutralize the shooter who has been struck and is on the ground, but continues to reach for the .223 caliber rifle and 9 mm handgun on his person.
Bystander Karlee Koswick, who was involved in the initial crash on 25th Street South, was shot after the three officers were already down. She tried to run for cover when she was hit by Barakat. Officials say when Barakat’s attention turned toward her, Robinson had the opportunity to fatally shoot Barakat. Officer Robinson fired 31 rounds at Barakat and hit him 21 times. Officer Robinson told him to drop his gun 16 times, to which Barakat continued to wave a gun around. Officials believe Barakat was wearing some type of body armor during the exchange. Barakat was shot and killed around 2 minutes into the altercation. His vehicle was loaded with three long rifles, four handguns, more than 1,800 .223-caliber bullets, three canisters filled with gasoline, and two propane tanks filled with Tannerite, explosive materials used for target practice.
Investigators said Barakat searched online for articles about mass casualty incidents and the Downtown Street Fair, suggesting to authorities he intended to open fire on thousands of people attending the event. Police visited Barakat's home and interviewed him at least twice in recent years due to concerns related to his guns, though authorities say he appeared to have acquired the weapons legally. Barakat was a Syrian national who came to the U.S. on an asylum request in 2012 and became a U.S. citizen in 2019. The injured officers, Andrew Dotas and Tyler Hawes, and bystander, Karlee Koswick, have since been released from the hospital and are still recovering from their injuries. Officer Robinson has undergone a mandatory psychological evaluation and came back to work in the office for a period of time. Robinson decided he was ready to go back in the field and is currently back on the streets with another officer.
