Marc Friedrich: Recession Imminent, Euro Doomed, Digital Gold-Backed Currency Is The Future
*Original Air Date: July 10, 2019
Best-selling author Marc Friedrich discusses his thoughts on the global financial crisis, collapse, and debt bubble. He thinks a recession is imminent and that the Euro is ultimately doomed, how no monetary union has ever been successful in history. He gives tips on how to prepare (e.g. real assets) and describes what he thinks the future monetary system will look like...some type of asset-backed digital currency. He thinks that China definitely is set to become the primary global power and gives his thoughts on how that dynamic might play out with the United States.

Oswaldo Zavala: Cartels Don't Exist & How Narcos Are Subordinate to the U.S. & Mexican State
*Original Air Date: May 23, 2019
Dr. Oswaldo Zavala discusses his book "The Cartels Don't Exist" in which he examines the questionable narrative that the Mexican drug cartels are in control of the government. In fact, he points to evidence that it is the U.S. and Mexican security state apparatus managing the drug cartels. He deconstructs how the state's false narrative of being the victim of the cartels then is reproduced by mass media, ambitious but naive journalists, film (e.g. Netflix's Narcos, Sicario, Infierno), popular literature, telenovelas and soap operas.

About the Guest
James Beeland “Jim” Rogers, Jr. is a Singapore based business magnate of American origin. Regarded by the business world as a brilliant investor, Rogers is also an author and financial commentator. He co-founded the global investment partnership, Quantum Fund, along with George Soros, another equally brilliant businessman. He also created the Rogers International Commodities Index (RICI) and is the Chairman of Rogers Holdings and Beeland Interests, Inc. The astute businessman displayed his business acumen from an early age. He was just five years old when he started his own “business” of selling peanuts! He studies economics, philosophy and politics at the Oxford University and joined the investment bank Arnhold and S. Bleichroder where he would meet his future business collaborator, George Soros. Even though he was very skilled at investing and managing money, he was not obsessed only with making money. There is a lot more to this interesting personality—he had a longstanding dream of motorcycling all over the world which he fulfilled during the period 1990-92. He is also a prolific writer and contributes frequently to ‘The Washington Post’, ‘The New York Times’, ‘Forbes’, ‘Fortune’ and ‘The Wall Street Journal’. One of his other interests is teaching and he has served as a professor of finance at the Columbia University Graduate School of Business.

Andreas Bummel: Climate Catastrophe, Nuclear War, & the Case for World Parliament
*Original Air Date: May 20, 2019
Andreas Bummel discusses the historical idea of world government and how existential civilizational threats such as climate change, thermonuclear war, and systemic global financial collapse necessitate the creation of a world parliament. We discuss numerous aspects of the movement, the role of regional unions, a global currency, and criticisms which include the threat of the world state becoming a tyrannical global leviathan. He discusses the change in global consciousness needed and the movement to create a UN Parliamentary Assembly. Finally, he describes how a democratized China could become a leader in global governance.

About the Guest
Andreas Bummel is known for his advocacy of a world parliament.
He is co-founder and director of Democracy Without Borders and coordinator of the international Campaign for a UN Parliamentary Assembly.
He frequently writes and speaks about global democracy.
His book “A World Parliament: Governance and Democracy in the 21st Century” which was published in 2018 (with Jo Leinen) provides a comprehensive overview.
Andreas Bummel is a member of the Congress of the World Federalist Movement-Institute for Global Policy in New York.
UN Parliamentary Assembly Campaign
The Campaign for a UN Parliamentary Assembly is a global network that advocates democratic representation of the world’s citizens at the UN and the institutions of global governance. Supporters of the campaign include current and former parliamentarians and officials, representatives of civil society organizations, researchers, and dedicated citizens.
The campaign’s mandate is based on the international appeal for the establishment of a parliamentary assembly at the UN that was published in 2007 and on subsequent declarations. Five international meetings on a UNPA have taken place so far.
The campaign’s international action and strategy is coordinated by a secretariat that is hosted by Democracy Without Borders. The secretariat works closely with the campaign’s steering committee, the co-chairs of the campaign’s advisory group, and partner organizations such as the World Federalist Movement based in New York and The Hague.
The overall goal of the campaign is to mobilize government support for the establishment of a UNPA. While the campaign approaches governments, it simultaneously seeks to establish parliamentary support.
Democracy Without Borders
Democracy Without Borders supports global democracy and a holistic approach to democracy promotion that spans from the local to the global levels and at the same time embraces the dimensions of representation, participation, deliberation and co-decision.
Democracy Without Borders strives for a democratic world order in which citizens participate beyond national boundaries in shaping policy that serves their joint long-term interests. Such an order needs to be based on an equal world citizenship of all citizens as well as on the principles of federalism, subsidiarity, the separation of powers, the rule of law, fundamental human rights, and the protection of minorities.

Peter Ford: The "Permanent Government" Imperial War on Syria & World
*Original Air Date: March 21, 2019
Retired British Ambassador to Bahrain and Syria Peter Ford discusses the Syrian War and its latest developments, including attempts to try Bashar al-Assad at the ICC. He describes the "permanent government" of the U.S. which is a key driver of the war, as well as America's European counterparts such as France and Britain, who still cling to the coattails of their imperial past glory. Ambassador Ford believes Gulf unity is shattered and that Syria will remain weak, but will slowly rebuild in the coming years.

Peter Ford Speech, Panel Discussion, House of Lords, March 2019 http://guadalajarageopolitics.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/EuroSCE-Panel-Discussion-March-2013-2.docx
About Peter Ford
Peter William Ford (born 27 June 1947) is a retired British diplomat who was ambassador to Bahrain from 1999–2003 and to Syria from 2003–2006.
Ford was educated at Weston Point Community Primary School, Helsby Grammar School and The Queen's College, Oxford.
Having finished his Arabic studies he worked in Beirut, Riyadh, Paris and Cairo before being appointed British ambassador to Bahrain as well as Syria from 2003-06.
Retiring from the Diplomatic Service in 2006, he became Representative of the Commissioner-General of UNRWA in the Arab world.
In February 2017, Ford became a Director of the British Syrian Society, alongside President Assad's father-in-law Dr Fawaz Akhras.
In 2003, as ambassador to Bahrain, Ford says he sent critical memoranda to London before the Iraq War. Later, he regretted not having been more outspoken. In his time in Damascus (2003-2006), he says he distanced himself more and more from the official policies.
Since 2006, he has been criticised as a defender of the Syrian government in Syria. In 2016, he suggested opposition forces were responsible for an attack on a UN humanitarian convoy in September 2016 which led to the deaths of 10 humanitarians. A UN panel of inquiry said the attack was conducted from the air, and only Syrian and Russian air forces were operating in the area. The UN panel stated "that it did not have evidence to conclude that the incident was a deliberate attack on a humanitarian target".
He accused the British government of lies and political mistakes in Syria from the onstart of the uprising, thus aggravating the situation. He argued that Prime Minister David Cameron should have either committed British forces or refrained from encouraging opposition forces from mounting a campaign against the Syrian government. Ford believes that the British leaders expected an early end of the Syrian government and overestimated the strength of the moderate opposition, whom they did not provide with sufficient help.
Ford argued that the fall of Assad would open a "Pandora's box", repeating the mistakes of Libya and Iraq. In his opinion, the fall of the Syrian government would lead to the massacres of Christians, Shias, Alawites, Druze and other minorities.
On the Khan Shaykhun chemical attack, he commented to the BBC that "there [had] been no investigation.. not a dodgy dossier - we've not seen any dossier whatever this time". Ford argued there was no proof of the Syrian government's involvement in the attack.
Ford participated in the EuroCE conference on the future of Syria from 5 to 6 April 2017 which was criticised by dissidents as pro-Assad, because among the speakers there were Syrian politicians and supporters of the Assad government. At the conference Ford described the British policy as "incoherent and grotesque", and accused the British government of being among those in the front rank of destroying Syria. He added that following the Iraq War he had been under regular instructions to remonstrate with the Syrians over the flow of jihadis into Iraq, but said he understood the Syrian government's point of view.

*Original Air Date: March 11, 2019
Canadian author Yves Engler discusses how Canadian foreign policy is an extension of US foreign policy, how the myth and image of Canada as a benevolent nation is destroyed by its violent regime change of Haiti in 2006 and current involvement in the Venezuelan coup, as well as its role subservient to Washington and its wars of the 20th century.

About Rico Brouwer and Potkaars
Potkaars in Dutch literally means ‘pot with candle’, phonetically it’s podcasts, they shed light. We make them and look for yours. Potkaars was started in september 2018 by Rico Brouwer and Saskia Söller.
Der Spiegel in 2015 offered her apologies after having published Bellingcat's lies. In 2018 they sue their own journalist Claas Relotius (CNN journalist of the year in 2014), after it became apparent that he had made up stories. In the Netherlands, the Dutch Broadcasting Foundation (NOS) as public broadcaster has been given the task of providing coverage through our national media outlets. The NOS has been given her own black-book in which their mistakes made, are documented.
Former Minister Opstelten of Dutch political party VVD said 'a minister does not lie'. But he himself in 2015 resigned after it became known he had misinformed our House of Representatives.
If you want real news, you have to be willing to cut through the smoke -smokes & mirrors- to get to information, and demand a controllable government. Putting information away as 'fake news' is easy. But what do you replace it with?
Potkaars tells the story of people who 'have started doing things that matter'. What is wrong, how can it be done better and what do you do to achieve that? Potkaars are podcasts that shed light. We make them and look for yours.
