Comms and video from inside an A-10 Warthog during the war in Afghanistan. The video and audio give us a glimpse from a pilot's perspective of close-air support to a ground element from the A-10. During the video, we can hear the team requesting fire, marking the target area with smoke. Multiple Warthogs deliver good guns and there's a very clear change in tone (relief) from the ground element. We're going through an archive of old footage as we manage our back-end database. The Russian Ministry of Defense released footage of an Su-34 taking off, flying around, and landing in March of 2023. The Su-34 is based on the previous Su-27, and although it was initially flight tested in 1990, it didn't enter service until 2014. Unique in the Su-34 is the side-by-side cockpit, which allows Russian pilots to share screens. Footage recorded by a Ukrainian TB2 Bayraktar drone over the Black Sea shows an incident in which a Russian Su-27 combat jet intentionally disrupts the flight path of the drone with its wake turbulence, commonly referred to as jetwash. It's not immediately clear why the drone was shot down. It's possible the Russian pilot wasn't able to distinguish its nation of origin as Turkey flies their own Bayraktar drones over the Black Sea. US European Command released footage of the Mar. 14, 2023 incident in which a Russian Su-27 made repeated unsafe harassment passes against a US MQ-9 Reaper drone and eventually clipped its propeller, dropping the American aircraft into the Black Sea. Footage shows the Russian warplane making aggressive maneuvers in an attempt to dump fuel onto the US Reaper drone. Video allegedly shows Russian footage from one of their aircraft as they passed by extremely close to the MQ-9. The pentagon had released a statement stating that multiple SU-27s made around 20 extremely close maneuvers to the MQ-9. The last pass from a SU-27 made contact with the MQ-9 disabling its propulsion system, which resulted in the drone crash landing in the sea.
