In this video I explain the Garmin G5 Power Up problem I was experiencing in my Super Cub and how I had it fixed. In addition I fly from Concord, NH airport (KCON) to Hampton Airfield (7B3), and then onto Laconia, NH airport (KLCI). During the leg from 7B3 to KLCI I experience another problem with my Super Cub's avionics. I loose the tachometer during the flight. In this video I take the Super Cub out after a 7 week hiatus flying it. Besides checking to see if the new tachometer cable is working, I fly over Lake Winnipesaukee and confirm that indeed it is "Ice In on Lake Winnipesaukee", which was declared just a few days ago. Its great to be back in the air doing some leisurely backcountry flying in the Super Cub!

Follow along in this video as we tour the beautiful Knollwood Estate grounds in Moultonborough, New Hampshire.

In this video we hike up Reed Lakes Trail in Alaska. Reed Lakes trailhead is located two miles up Archangel Road off Hatcher Pass Road, just a short 30 minute ride or so up from Palmer, Alaska. The hike starts off easy, but gets steeper and rockier as you go. About 2.5 miles in its gets very rock with larger boulders. It was at that point that we chose to turn around as the weather was beginning to deteriorate and we were not fully prepared for cold rainy weather. The Reed Lakes trail scenery is just epic. There was very limited hikers on the trail and a few rock climbers that we got to watch make some shear rock wall ascents. I highly recommend this hike. Well worth the effort.

In this video I look back at all the flying I did in 2019, including in the New Hampshire Lakes Region, Maine, and Alaska. Most of the flights were filmed from my Piper Super Cub (PA-18-150). However, some of the video was filmed while flying in a Cessna Skyhawk in Alaska over the Knik Glacier and River. There are also some drone shots filmed both in New Hampshire and Alaska. Warm weather is slowly returning to New Hampshire and Maine, based on what I saw today flying from the Lakes Region of New Hampshire up into Southwest Maine. Segabo Lake has no ice on it, and Lake Winnipesaukee's ice is breaking up. Only the White Mountains and Mount Washington have snow on them. Went out for a short Easter morning flight today. Flew the Super Cub up over Lake Winnipesaukee and checked out the early spring scenery. Suffice it to say it's looking a little bare still, and there was a lot of turbulence. I cut the short flight due to it. In this video I take up two high school teachers in a PA28-161 Piper Warrior that are currently teaching a STEM aviation module to their students. One of the teachers is a veteran pilot and he has asked that I demonstrate slow flight, power off and power on stalls, and steep turns while he and his colleague film and narrate the flight from inside the cockpit. I hooked up an Insta360 One X camera to film the flight from outside the aircraft. Unfortunately, the Insta360 One X ran out of power before we completed the mission with a landing back at Laconia, NH airport. However, the camera was able to capture all of the major flight demonstrations requested. Follow along from taxi, to run up and take off, as I demonstrate how to perform slow flight, power-off stalls, power-on stalls, and Steep Turns, while observing them from the bottom of the wing of this Piper Warrior. In this video I demonstrate how to land a tailwheel airplane on a paved runway. Specifically, I took my PA18 Piper Super Cub out for landing practice on a paved runway in Laconia, NH (KLCI). In this video I did a total of eight takeoff and landings, including one Go Around in a bounced landing.

In this video I took the Super Cub out and flew it over to Plymouth Municipal Airport (1P1) in Plymouth NH, and did a couple of take off and landings at this beautiful grass strip. It was a fantastic flying weather, and other than the fact that I made a rookie mistake on my return flight back to Laconia, NH airport (KLCI), it was a great short trip. We are at peak fall foliage in the greater Lake Winnipesaukee area as can be seen in this video. This video is a compilation of two flights filmed over a two day period. The first flight was with a drone, and the second flight on the following day was in my Piper Super Cub airplane. The weather was superb, as can be seen in the drone video content. Unfortunately, there was turbulence and more moisture in the air on the airplane flight which detracted from the clarity in those video segments. But overall, as can be seen in this compiled video, the fall foliage in the New Hampshire Lakes region looks stunning as it peaks. In this video I show off some of the fall foliage colors around Lake Winnipesaukee that are just beginning to show in the Moultonborough, New Hampshire area. Almost had a hawk take out my drone while flying it, as you'll see in this video. I suspect we will be at peak fall foliage in New Hampshire within the next one to two weeks. In this video I fly my Supercub from Laconia, New Hampshire Airport (KLCI) to Moultonboro, NH Airport (53NH, formerly 5M3) on just a gorgeous morning. It was my first landing at Moultonboro Airport with the Supercub, and the last flight before the cub gets a new set of tires. Replacing the old 6.00 x 6 with 8.50 x 6. During the flight I fly over Lake Winnipesaukee and take in some of the sights along the way, including the new Moultonborough New Hampshire solar panel farm, the biggest in the state of New Hampshire. In this video I show one of my floatplane flights that I took while in Talkeetna, Alaska training for my Commercial Single Engine Seaplane rating. All of the floatplane landings in this video took place in one 1.2 hour flight. The lakes landed at include: Larson Lake, Katie Lake, Sockeye Lake, Pineapple Man Lake, and Christiansen Lake, which are all in the vicinity of Talkeetna, Alaska. Landing types included Normal floatplane landings, Confined Area floatplane landings, 180 degree power off landings/Emergency Engine Out Landings, and glassy landings. The aircraft used was a Piper Pacer (PA22S-160) with floats. After 4 flights over two days with a CFI from “Alaska Floats and Skis”, totaling five hours in length, I took the practical test with a DPE (Don Lee). The practical exam included an oral exam, followed by a checkride, that required me performing all of the landing types listed above, as well as performing idle, step and plow taxis maneuvers. In this video I fly the Super Cub from Laconia, NH (KLCI) to Plum Island, MA (2B2) to check out the northeastern Massachusetts seacoast scenery. While at Plum Island airport, waiting out for thunderstorms to dissipate back in the lakes region NH area, I got the chance to see some R/C Model airplanes being flown at the airport. Plum Island Airport has two runways, a paved strip (10-28) and a grass strip (14-32), with the paved runway measuring 2,105’ x 50’ and the grass strip measuring 2,300x100. In this video I fly over to Windsock Village Airport (NH69) in Ossipee, New Hampshire to film a Windsock Village airplane gathering of all the local residents of the village. It was quite the turn-out with approximately 30 planes of all different types and vintages in the group picture. I also got in one more flight to capture the deep orange and golden fall foliage colors of the Lakes Region of New Hampshire.
