Doomberg - Substack author where energy and finance meet. Not just a pretty green chicken!
Doomberg puts a new definition to Green Chicken in the coal mine. Substack author where energy and finance meet.
This was one of my favorite podcast guests! Doomberg around my house is a legend. My wife is tired of "Doomberg said this or Doomberg said that.' And when I told her we had an interview scheduled she said either "I move out or you go to the lake house."
Well, I sure am going to miss her, as I went to the lake house.
Doomberg's success is from several places where you can't only have good luck. Their attitude towards life is the differentiator of their success and industry thought leader. Doomberg described their business model, success and the key ingredient is the intrinsic value of one's self.
As we talked, hearing fantastic information about the energy markets was phenomenal. But their choices to have fun, be successful, and impact the world without compromising to other people's demands are admirable and rare.
Subscribe to Doomberg for the energy knowledge and stay for the fun. The writing style and detail is just one example of how being happy is more important than success. I learned that Doomberg was able to mix success with happiness.
Thank you Mr. Doomberg for stopping by the podcast! I had an absolute blast, and hope you can fly by again. - Stu

ENB #103 - Valerie Pinamonti - Attorney, Law Contracts, Safety, and experience on over 50 wind farm fields. Get the inside baseball on wind and safety.
This is a great conversation with Valerie about safety and renewable energy. As an attorney with years of experience in wind farm projects, she has seen every side of the good and bad of wind farms. With the real questions that are coming out about the viability of ESG investments in renewable, There are some other serious considerations as well.
Safety in energy is equally critical in the oil and gas and renewable sectors. We need low-cost, reliable energy for all citizens of the world without printing money to get there.
Valerie gave us some examples and one horrific example of bad safety practices. In one of her wind farm projects, there were 3 deaths in as many months. Cutting safety corners to save money is horrible. But the profitability of wind farms has come into a real concern.
I have been researching the failure rates of wind farms to incorporate in future articles, and the early numbers show that they may not be profitable after only 8 years. This is due to the high maintenance costs, including labor, oil, and other fossil fuels, to keep them running.
My interview with Donn Dears about the Clean Energy Crisis has a lot of data and coincides with what Valerie has experienced.
Valery, thank you for stopping by the Energy News Beat Podcast and sharing your great experiences and ideas. - Stu

Energy Security is only attainable through bipartisan efforts. Amir Adnani - CEO of Uranium Energy Corp., talks about the updates on the Nuclear Security Act with Manchin and Barrasso, updated 40 min before we record this podcast. The act will place sanctions and penalties on the Russian uranium export markets.
Along with bipartisan efforts, we have to have nuclear and natural gas as critical components of the United States' energy security. I had an absolute blast talking with Amir about the global energy crisis and the path to energy security and carbon net zero.
Amir and the team from Uranium Energy Corp. have their eye on the global energy market while keeping critical components of ESG and sustainability at the forefront. We discussed their upcoming announcements of a carbon-neutral path for uranium from recovery to the consumer. Their programs and reports, and information are coming out shortly.
It does not matter if you are in the wind, solar, oil, or gas sides. It is not about right or wrong; it is about energy security, and we need uranium and natural gas to get there.

ENB #65 Gregory Wrightstone - The Inconvenient Facts, The CO2 Collation, and Once Upon a Time
Today on the ENB podcast episode #64 we have Gregory Wrightstone stopping by and we covered the facts. Gregory was also nice enough to show us the brand new book from the CO2 Coalition. it is "Once Upon A Time; A true story about the miracle molecule. Carbon Dioxide. The book is a fun comic book-style educational tool for kids.
I highly recommend reading the book to your kids on a family night. Education of our kids is important, especially when you can use facts to make points.
The energy sector has not always done a good job of educating people about the good things that fossil fuels can help elevate the world's population out of poverty. Now the climate activists say one thing, and don't let you talk, and personally, it does not matter to me what energy we use. Wind, solar, nuclear, fossil, and hydro are all on the table, but let's get the lowest cost kWh to consumers with the least amount of impact on the environment.
It was funny on the podcast when I was saying that renewable energy also emits large amounts of CO2, and Gregory calmly replies; "Stu CO2 is not bad, so it is ok to use them".
We have to change our mindsets and talk to each other about our opinions and use facts. It makes it tough when only one side of a discussion showed up with an open mind.
Thank you Gregory for stopping by the ENB podcast, and signing your book. - "Stu you are the greatest podcast host that has interviewed me".

ENB Jeremy Bezdek, EVP of Global Corp Dev & President of Freyr Battery US How the Grid needs storage
#energytransition #grid #inflationreductionact #renewableenergy @freyrbattery Please go to EnergyNewsBeat.co for the full article, and listen to the podcast on all major channels.
I would like to give a shout-out to Jeremy as I had an absolute blast visiting with him about Freyr Battery and their new U.S. division. My first interview with Tom Jensen, while he was at the headquarters in Norway, was an eye-opener. While we understand that renewables and a weak grid require storage for stabilization, I have not been a big fan due to the impact of the huge batteries on the environment as they are disposed of. Well, the new technology developed by Freyr Battery has fixed one of my biggest concerns, and in fact, almost every objection I have to large storage projects, Tom was able to address.
So it made sense that we got an update from Jeremy as the new president of U.S. Operations. I mean it was a blast, as we got some great updates on the huge job numbers in the U.S., the use of the IRA, and coordinating investors for the U.S. market as well.
As Freyr continues down the right road, please watch their new technology as they remain nimble enough to make the changes for the good of the environment and good-paying jobs.
Thank you Jeremy for stopping by the podcast. Please let me know if you have any updates in the future that we need to know about. - Stu

Energy Crisis - and your Portfolio - An exclusive interview with Jay R. Young, CEO
Ok, full disclosure, I have had fun with Jay on several of my podcasts, his podcasts, and hosting the King Operating Roundtable series. We have way too much fun and talk business. Now that being said Jay is 100% an oilman. That is not a bad thing when you look at his business model of delivering low-cost energy to the United States energy market, following the ESG best practices, and maximizing investor returns. Every one of those talking points is a check box on the energy ESG requirements. The difference between Jay's company and some other oil and gas companies is that he expects his company to perform to meet and exceed the high standards.
The energy crisis we now find ourselves in has taken 25 years of bad energy policies to get here, and won't be solved anytime soon. The good side about the "Greener" movement is that it has forced the other oil and gas companies to look closely in the mirror and take ESG to heart. The other part of this discussion relates to our current geopolitical crisis and how we get on the road to Net Zero together. We will need U.S. oil in order to get there, and it needs to be produced responsibly to all stakeholders and the environment.
Fill out the assessment on the energynewsbeat.co website on the podcast article and we will send you a free e-copy of Jay's book "The Upside of Investing in Oil and Gas". Enjoy the podcast.
