No one has to come to read your meter because the meter sends data about your usage to the electric company. It does this quite frequently. As often as every 15 minutes, in fact. They use radiofrequency (RF) waves, a form of electromagnetic energy, to transmit energy consumption data to a central computer at the utility company. These RF waves move through space at the speed of light. The transmissions are sent using a method of communication based on either a cell phone, pager, satellite, radio, power line (PLC), WiFi or Internet (TCP/IP). Utility companies first started using smart meters in Europe and now the practice has spread to the US. In fact, more than 43 million smart meters have been installed in homes and businesses in the US alone since 2012.1 This number is quickly rising thanks in large part to our government’s Smart Grid investment of $3.4 billion in 2009. A further 115 million smart meter deployments are projected by the end of 2021, meaning more than 75% of American homes will be exposed to smart meter dangers.2 Those of you who are familiar with my work as a functional medicine physician know that I always advocate that we can take back control of our health. This includes informing ourselves as best we can about smart meter dangers. I want to ensure you are aware of the information available on smart meter dangers. This way you can make informed decisions regarding your home environment, as I have recently done. One fact that cannot be ignored is that smart meters emit electromagnetic radiation (EMR) in the form of radiofrequency radiation, which is a byproduct of radiofrequency waves. No one disclaims this as one of the largest smart meter dangers. RF radiation was classified in 2011 by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), as “possibly carcinogenic (cancer-causing) to humans.” Furthermore, there is no data that shows RF radiation is safe. In fact, no one has conducted health studies on humans living in homes with smart meters. The World Health Organization is planning a formal assessment of the health effects from RF exposure, however, this report is not yet available. People with smart meters in their homes have reported a sudden increase in dizziness, ear pain, memory problems, heart palpitations, anxiety, and sleep problems. We do know that exposure to large amounts of RF radiation as a result of accidents involving radar has caused severe burns. Whether in large or small amounts, RF radiation has adverse effects on your health. The US safety limit for RF radiation is 1,000 micro-watts per meter squared. However, it’s not uncommon for some smart meters to produce up to 60 times this amount. That means the radiation from smart meters is equivalent to the output of 160 wireless devices such as cell phones.3 And smart meters are continuously transmitting data and producing RF radiation in and around your home. The amount of RF energy exposure depends on how far the smart meter mounted on a building is from the smart meter antenna. However, there are simple ways you can protect yourself and your family from smart meter dangers. Sometimes realisation comes in a blinding flash. Blurred outlines snap into shape and suddenly it all makes sense. Underneath such revelations is typically a much slower-dawning process. Doubts at the back of the mind grow. The sense of confusion that things cannot be made to fit together increases until something clicks. Or perhaps snaps. Collectively we three authors of this article must have spent more than 80 years thinking about climate change. Why has it taken us so long to speak out about the obvious dangers of the concept of net zero? In our defence, the premise of net zero is deceptively simple – and we admit that it deceived us. The threats of climate change are the direct result of there being too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. So it follows that we must stop emitting more and even remove some of it. This idea is central to the world’s current plan to avoid catastrophe. In fact, there are many suggestions as to how to actually do this, from mass tree planting, to high tech direct air capture devices that suck out carbon dioxide from the air. The current consensus is that if we deploy these and other so-called “carbon dioxide removal” techniques at the same time as reducing our burning of fossil fuels, we can more rapidly halt global warming. Hopefully around the middle of this century we will achieve “net zero”. This is the point at which any residual emissions of greenhouse gases are balanced by technologies removing them from the atmosphere. This is a great idea, in principle. Unfortunately, in practice it helps perpetuate a belief in technological salvation and diminishes the sense of urgency surrounding the need to curb emissions now. We have arrived at the painful realisation that the idea of net zero has licensed a recklessly cavalier “burn now, pay later” approach which has seen carbon emissions continue to soar. It has also hastened the destruction of the natural world by increasing deforestation today, and greatly increases the risk of further devastation in the future. To understand how this has happened, how humanity has gambled its civilisation on no more than promises of future solutions, we must return to the late 1980s, when climate change broke out onto the international stage. Here’s the debate between Aaron Siri and Berkeley Law School Dean Chemerinsky that took place on May 31, 2022. Here’s the backstory as to why this is just being released now. It boils down to this: Courts have ruled that the state is allowed to protect the public from harm by mandating vaccines Courts have always sided with the government as to whether it is a vaccine and whether it works. Siri was right in that these things are not vaccines and they have no public benefit. But the law doesn’t work that way: the judges trust the government. So the bottom line is that even if the vaccine kills everyone who takes it, if the government says it is safe and those deaths were just coincidences, the courts will go along with the government and allow them mandate you take the vaccine. Occasionally, there are smart judges who have figured out that the government doesn’t get it right about vaccines. Unfortunately, there aren’t enough of those judges to go around. Jacobson lost, but all he was forced to do was pay the cash fine of $5. From a comment from Paul: Mass v Jacobson was primarily a taxation case that has been pulled into the vaccine debate. It has been misinterpreted by the media, and by many lawyers who have not studied the issue. The question before the Court was whether the public health department had powers to collect revenue. They were fining the unvaccinated. The court (rightly) said yes, you have the power to fine people as long as its not excessively burdensome (the fine was $5). This is the same principle that allows the health department, for example, to fine restaurants who violate health codes (in other words, the treasury is not the only ones who can collect revenue). One can argue this has gotten out of hand, with virtually every arm of the government collecting fees, but that's a different story. And, the Court may have (inadvertently?) given public health the power to define what is safe (in this case the vaccines are NOT safe), but that is also beside the point. The point is, the fine can not be excessively burdensome. So any reasonable person would say that firing someone is definitely more burdensome than a $5 (or even $100) fine. At the beginning of this, if they had just said, anyone who isn't vaccinated has the option to pay $100 to get the equivalent of a vaccine card (to keep their job, get their passport, whatever), then it would have been in line with Jacobson and we would be a LOT better off today. Sure it's still grossly unfair, and sure the courts need to be looking into the safety of these vaccines. But millions of people would have just said, sure, take the $100 out of my paycheck or whatever, and so many lives would have been saved. Also, preventing someone from travel is MORE than a fine, it's a restriction on freedom, which is outside the scope of Jacobson. I agree with Aaron Siri that the courts need to stop trusting the government and be finders of fact. No government should be able to mandate a vaccine unless they can show beyond a reasonable doubt that the intervention’s benefits outweigh the risks. The burden should be on the government, not on us to prove it is unsafe. And even then, I would have trouble with this reasoning because they can’t prove it is safe and where there is risk, there must be choice. Congress needs to change the law to make it clear: no more vaccine mandates. As CBN News has reported, Florida's Parental Rights in Education bill says schools can't teach curriculum on sexual orientation and gender identity to very young children from kindergarten to third grade. It does not ban the word "gay" from classrooms, even in casual discussions on either topic. Leftist groups and biased media outlets have mischaracterized the measure, calling it the "Don't Say Gay" bill. Gov. DeSantis signed the bill into law Monday. The move prompted an official response from Disney which also mislabeled the parental rights bill. "Florida's HB 1557, also known as the 'Don't Say Gay' bill, should never have passed and should never have been signed into law," a spokesperson for Disney said in a statement. "Our goal as a company is for this law to be repealed by the legislature or struck down in the courts, and we remain committed to supporting the national and state organizations working to achieve that. We are dedicated to standing up for the rights and safety of LGBTQ+ members of the Disney family, as well as the LGBTQ+ community in Florida and across the country." Earlier this month, while speaking at an event, DeSantis slammed Disney, saying, "In Florida, our policies have got to be based on the best interest of Florida citizens, not on the musing of woke corporations." No Jan. 6 defendants should be able to delay their pending criminal trials based on speculation that the 41,000 hours of Capitol surveillance footage — recently made available by Speaker Kevin McCarthy to Fox News’ Tucker Carlson — might contain exculpatory evidence, the Justice Department argued Tuesday. “The United States does not know the extent of any material that a member of the legislative branch purportedly provided to other individuals,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Sean McCauley wrote in a court filing connected to prominent Jan. 6 defendant Ryan Nichols. “This Court should not commit to an indefinite trial extension for this Defendant, or for any defendants, based on the unsupported allegation that pertinent information may exist somewhere, but is not currently known to either the prosecution or the defense.” DOJ docketed a nearly identical filing in the case of Shane Jenkins late Tuesday, opposing his effort to delay a trial that begins in two weeks in order to review the footage. The filings are the first effort by the Justice Department to place limits on any potential efforts by Jan. 6 defendants to use the newly disclosed footage to prolong their criminal proceedings. Nichols’ attorney, Joseph McBride, urged U.S. District Court Judge Royce Lamberth to delay his late-March trial in order to give Nichols’ defense team time to review the footage, which McBride said he’s been granted access to by the House. Prosecutors emphasized that defendants and their lawyers have had access to an enormous trove of evidence for nearly two years — more then 4.9 million files totaling nearly 7.4 terabytes of information. Those files include “over 30,000 files that include body-worn and hand-held camera footage from five law enforcement agencies and surveillance-camera footage from three law enforcement agencies.” Prosecutors contended that the existence of the additional footage reviewed by Carlson does not necessarily entitle defendants to receive it — particularly without a basis for believing it includes exculpatory content. “The Government’s discovery obligations in a criminal case are properly limited to materials that are potentially relevant to a defendant’s case in the government’s possession or control, and the government is not obliged to acquire materials possessed or controlled by others,” McCauley wrote, saying a trial should not be delayed “based on speculation about whether and when any such additional, likely irrelevant, information may become available.” Defense teams have complained that the overwhelming amount of material has been impossible to comb through — even as they demand access to the extensive new trove. It’s become a recurring theme in Jan. 6 cases: Prosecutors have dumped enormous caches of evidence on defense teams, who continuously claim they don’t have the means or capacity to meaningfully review it. The Justice Department noted that it has built tools intended to help defendants and their lawyers pinpoint relevant footage by camera angle and time of day. The Justice Department also rejected as “premature” the notion that Carlson’s decision to air some of the security footage Monday should lead to the Justice Department making the full cache of security film public. TBILISI, March 7- Georgian police used tear gas to disperse protesters on Tuesday in central Tbilisi after parliament gave its initial backing to a draft law on "foreign agents" which critics say represents an authoritarian shift in the South Caucasus country. Critics have said it is reminiscent of a 2012 Russian law that has since been used to crack down on dissent. Georgian television showed protesters angrily remonstrating with police armed with riot shields who then used tear gas. Local television said police also used water cannon to disperse the protesters. Earlier, the law had comfortably passed its first parliamentary reading, Georgian media outlets reported. The law, backed by the ruling Georgian Dream party, would require any organisations receiving more than 20% of their funding from overseas to register as "foreign agents", or face substantial fines. Some of the protesters gathered outside the parliament building carried European Union and U.S. flags, and shouted: "No to the Russian law". Speaking in Berlin earlier on Tuesday, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Garibashvili reaffirmed his support for the law, saying the proposed provisions on foreign agents met "European and global standards". "The future of our country doesn't belong to, and will not belong to, foreign agents and servants of foreign countries," he said. More than three years after Covid-19 was detected in the Chinese city of Wuhan, the question of how the virus first emerged remains a mystery. Fluoride is a highly toxic substance. Consider, for example, the poison warning that the FDA now requires on all fluoride toothpastes sold in the U.S. or the tens of millions of people throughout China and India who now suffer serious crippling bone diseases from drinking water with elevated levels of fluoride. In terms of acute toxicity (i.e., the dose that can cause immediate toxic consequences), fluoride is more toxic than lead, but slightly less toxic than arsenic. This is why fluoride has long been used in rodenticides and pesticides to kill pests like rats and insects. It is also why accidents involving over-ingestion of fluoridated dental products–including fluoride gels, fluoride supplements, and fluoridated water–can cause serious poisoning incidents, including death. The debate today, however, is not about fluoride’s acute toxicity, but its chronic toxicity (i.e., the dose of fluoride that if regularly consumed over an extended period of time can cause adverse effects). Although fluoride advocates have claimed for years that the safety of fluoride in dentistry is exhaustively documented and “beyond debate,” the Chairman of the National Research Council’s (NRC) comprehensive fluoride review, Dr. John Doull, recently stated that: “when we looked at the studies that have been done, we found that many of these questions are unsettled and we have much less information than we should, considering how long this [fluoridation] has been going on. I think that’s why fluoridation is still being challenged so many years after it began.” In this section of the website, we provide overviews of the scientific and medical research that implicates fluoride exposure as a cause or contributor to various chronic health ailments. In 2001, the union of scientists at the Environmental Protection Agency’s Headquarters Office in Washington D.C. stated: “we hold that water fluoridation is an unreasonable risk.” The research in this section helps to demonstrate why EPA’s union of scientists concluded that fluoridation is an unreasonable risk, and why a growing number of health professionals do as well. The following are reasons why we believe current fluoride policies in the U.S. are unsafe: Current safety standards only protect against the most obvious forms of harm: Current safety standards for fluoride are based on the premise that severe dental fluorosis and crippling skeletal fluorosis are the first adverse effects that fluoride can have on the body. These effects represent the crudest, most obvious harm caused by fluoride. In the words of American University chemistry professor, Dr. William Hirzy, it would be a “biological miracle” if fluoride did not cause other harm prior to producing these end-stage forms of toxicity. Research already shows, in fact, that fluoride can cause arthritic symptoms and bone fracture well before the onset of crippling fluorosis, and can affect many other tissues besides bone and teeth, including the brain and thyroid gland. The current “safe” daily dose for fluoride fails to withstand scrutiny: The Institute of Medicine (IOM) states that anyone over 8 years of age — irrespective of their health condition — can safely ingest 10 milligrams of fluoride each day for their entire life without developing symptomatic bone damage. Ten milligrams, however, is the same dose that the IOM concedes can cause clinical signs of skeletal fluorosis within just 10 to 20 years of exposure. People with clinical signs of fluorosis can suffer significant symptoms, including chronic joint pain and overt osteoarthritis. The IOM’s safety standard instills little confidence in the medical understanding that currently underlies fluoride policies in the U.S. Some people are particularly susceptible to fluoride toxicity: It is well known that individual susceptibility to fluoride varies greatly across the population, and yet, the National Research Council has recently found that breathtakingly large gaps still exist in the safety literature on the effects these populations may be experiencing as a result of current fluoride exposures. The bewildering degree of uncertainties identified by the NRC stands in stark contrast to the IOM’s conclusion that 10 mg/day is so definitively safe that no “uncertainty factor” needs to be applied to protect vulnerable members of the population. The margin between the toxic and therapeutic dose is very narrow: The NRC concluded that the allegedly “safe” upper limit of fluoride in water (4 mg/l) is toxic to human health. While the NRC did not determine the safe level, their conclusion means that the safe level is less than 4 times the level added to water (0.7-1.2 mg/l) in community fluoridation programs. This is far too slim a margin to protect vulnerable members of the population, including those who consume high amounts of water. Dr Udo Ulfkotte, the former German newspaper editor whose bestselling book exposed how the CIA controls German media, has been found dead. He was 56. His fears for a war in Europe, lead him to his decision to tell the truth about corporate media being controlled by intelligence services on behalf of the financial class. “I’ve been a journalist for about 25 years, and I’ve been educated to lie, to betray, and not to tell the truth to the public,” Ulfkotte told Russia Today. “I was supported by the Central Intelligence Agency, the CIA. Why? Because I am pro-American.” “The German and American media tries to bring war to the people in Europe, to bring war to Russia. This is a point of no return, and I am going to stand up and say… it is not right what I have done in the past, to manipulate people, to make propaganda against Russia.” Ulfkotte said most corporate media journalists in the United States and Europe are “so-called non-official cover,” meaning that they work for an intelligence agency. “I think it is especially the case with British journalists, because they have a much closer relationship. It is especially the case with Israeli journalists. Ulfkotte’s book Bought Journalists became a bestseller in Germany but, in a bizarre twist which Ulfkotte says characterizes the disconnect caused by CIA control of the western media, the book cannot be reported on by the German press. “No German mainstream journalist is allowed to report about [my] book. Otherwise he or she will be sacked. Over recent years, a growing proportion of Population Matters’ website traffic has been driven by rather odd search terms including “Bill Gates depopulation”, “Agenda 2030 population control”, and “depopulation coronavirus vaccine”. In 2021, our digital manager at the time, Olivia Nater, wrote the blog below to separate the myth from the facts. We are republishing it today, as theories linking this week’s World Economic Forum in Davos with a global depopulation conspiracy are being circulated widely on social media. Again, the record needs to be set straight. What’s the connection between the tech billionaire and population concern? It appears a surprisingly large number of people believe Gates is on a mission to wipe out the human species through forced injection with fertility-blocking, mind-controlling or otherwise poisonous substances and ‘microchips’ disguised as COVID-19 vaccines. Some even believe the COVID-19 pandemic was deliberately engineered by Gates and other ‘global elites’, including the United Nations (more on that below), to depopulate the world. This idea is often referred to as ‘The Great Reset’, which was originally just the name of an entirely non-sinister pandemic recovery initiative by the World Economic Forum (WEF), which meets annually in Davos. While theories about a depopulation conspiracy come in many different stripes, one or all of Gates, the UN and Davos usually feature in them. A 2020 US election poll of 5,500 people found that a fifth of respondents shared this belief. Where did these conspiracy theories come from? The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has long supported reproductive health and rights in developing countries, including family planning services. The Foundation has also pledged billions in support of vaccination programmes. Bill Gates has publicly spoken out about the benefits of slowing population growth through improved healthcare several times. For example, in a 2010 TED talk on ways to reduce climate emissions, the wealthy entrepreneur acknowledged the population factor and stated we could reduce this “if we do a really great job on new vaccines, healthcare, reproductive health services.” Vaccines are supposed to save lives so you can see how their mention in the context of bringing down population could lead to widespread misinterpretation. In fact, the reality is positive: improving access to vaccines reduces child mortality, which research suggests leads to lower fertility rates (the average number of children per woman). The theory is that when people don’t have to worry so much about losing children to preventable diseases, they have fewer of them, as explained in the 2014 Gates annual letter. What’s not to like? In addition, the evidence for the opposite relationship is even stronger: when people are empowered to choose smaller families through access to healthcare and contraception, existing children’s health and prospects dramatically improve. The pandemic-driven conspiracy wave has also swept along some far-right anti-abortionists, who think “reproductive health services” is just a sneaky name for promoting abortions. Actually, improving access to reproductive health services leads to fewer abortions as when women are empowered to use contraception, their risk of unwanted pregnancy is hugely reduced. Those who don’t like abortions should therefore be donating to women’s rights and family planning organisations. Like many high profile figures, Bill Gates attracts controversy and criticism – but the work done by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has been immensely positive. Let’s not demonise or be cynical about beneficial investments on such a massive scale – we urgently need more international funding for sexual and reproductive health and rights and other vital health services, especially in light of recent harmful aid cuts. Agenda 2030 is an ambitious United Nations initiative launched in 2015 to solve humanity’s biggest crises by 2030, from ending hunger, gender inequality and poverty to halting climate change and biodiversity loss. Its aims are laid out in the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). An earlier version, Agenda 2021, launched at the 1992 Conference on Environment and Development in Rio, has also become a popular search term among conspiracy theorists who believe the agendas are covert plans to reduce the global population. This belief is truly puzzling, however. Agenda 2021 states “The growth of world population and production combined with unsustainable consumption patterns places increasingly severe stress on the life-supporting capacities of our planet,” but does not propose any population action. Indeed, the SDGs completely omit the need to end population growth – so much so that Population Matters wrote a whole report last year about the links between population and the SDGs and the urgent need to push empowering solutions. We also published a short animation video explaining how greater investment in the beneficial solutions already embedded within the SDGs, particularly empowering women and girls through improved access to family planning and education, is key to meeting all the other goals. We never expected this to make a big splash but it has already become our second most viewed video. Unfortunately, the comments on YouTube reveal that this popularity is driven by conspiracy theories rather than a sudden healthy interest in sustainable development.
