Bitcoin Q&A: Evolving layered technologies in cryptocurrency
Keywords/phrases: Layered technologies. Bitcoin is layer zero, Lightning Network is layer two. It's difficult to see how the layers evolve and what the interfaces between the layers are, which functions end up in which layers. There will also be multiple stacks. From an architecture perspective, protocols are not built monolithically; we're not going to do everything in a single layer.

Bitcoin Q&A: The Out-of-sync Hype Around "Blockchain"
Keywords/phrases: The hype around "blockchain" is out of sync with the actual implementations. There is one exception: Bitcoin (maybe two, Ethereum). The hype stems from the general economic conditions of free money, stimulus, and low-interest rates. We have a lot of money chasing very little yield where people chase investment exuberances. The blockchains worth the hype are the ones setting the stage for real-world applications. Open, transnational, borderless, open access, permissionless blockchains. There is a lot of hype but there is also a seven-year experiment that refuses to die.

one of a kind why bitcoin is the new bitcoin
In this talk, Andreas addresses the speculation about what will be the "next Bitcoin" or the "next Ethereum." Echoing previous talks like 'Invest in Education Instead of Speculation,' he argues that the focus on searching for the best investment or time to buy amid a sea of pump-and-dump schemes is a worse way to spend your time than gathering knowledge about how these systems work. He also tells the story about how he bought bitcoin for the first time, why it is not the get-rich-quick scheme you may think it is, and the ways they could fail.
