(12.20.20) Matthew 2:1-12 - The wise men traveled hundreds of miles over what was likely several months to worship a child who was King of the Jews. Why would these wise men (magicians) go through such an ordeal to worship this child? It is because the child was their King!

(12.13.20) Luke 2:8-20 - The first people to ever share the "good news" of Jesus Christ was the shepherds. What makes this surprising is that shepherds were considered unreliable and were at the bottom of the social ladder. Nevertheless, God uses the humble to proclaim His Good News (the Gospel)!

(4.7.19) Revelation 3:7-13 - The Church of Philadelphia, though having little power, kept Jesus' Word and did not deny Him. Jesus, therefore, promised that their oppressors would one day bow before them and learn that they belonged to the King of Kings. Moreover, because of their faithfulness, Jesus promised to deliver them from the hour of tribulation.

(3.31.19) Revelation 3:1-6 - The Church of Sardis looked like it was alive and thriving, but in fact, the church was dead. However, it was not completely dead. Thus, Jesus commands His church to wake up because He is coming like a thief in the night. To those who heed Jesus' warning, they will receive white garments - the victor's clothing!

(3.17.19) Revelation 2:18-29 - The Church of Thyatira, while enduring persecution, began to tolerate sin within their midst - like other some of the other churches in Revelation. The woman Jezebel was seducing some of its members, causing them to apostatize, but others remained steadfast. Thus, Jesus commands the faithful to hold fast!

(3.3.19) Revelation 2:12-17 - The Church of Pergamum, who dwelled where Satan's throne was, held fast to God's Word. Yet, they began to accept the false teaching of Balaam and the Nicolaitans by sacrificing to idols and by engaging in sexual immorality. Thus, Jesus commands the church to repent from their worldliness.

(2.24.19) Revelation 2:8-11 - The Church of Smyrna was under intense persecution, yet, Jesus reminds the church that the fires were intended to test the genuineness of their faith. Thus, Jesus' eyes remain upon the church even amidst their greatest trials.

(2.17.19) Revelation 2:1-7 - Beginning the section on the seven churches, Jesus warns the Church of Ephesus they have abandoned their first love. He calls them back to repentance while recognizing their faithfulness to the truth.

(2.10.19) Revelation 1:9-20 - The Apostle John, on the island of Patmos, receives a vision of the King - Jesus in all His glory. The vision of Jesus that is found in Revelation is the same image that the world will see when He returns in His final judgment.

The people of God will rejoice at their returning King and the wicked upon the earth will wail on account of Him.
