My first honey harvest using the Maxant 3100P extractor. This video will review the operation of the Maxant 3100p honey extractor and let you see it in action. This is my first use of the Maxant 3100p and it was easy to operate, easy to load and unload, and even easy to clean. The Maxant 3100p honey extractor is a great honey extractor and worth the money. The value equals its utility. Also, an update on the Red hive situation.
In this video, I will be doing my first honey extraction using the Maxant 3100p honey extractor. The Maxant extractor should allow me to extract the honey without destroying the comb. After extraction, I hope to put the comb back on the beehives and provide the necessary storage for the bees to begin quickly refilling and set me up for a second harvest.

New Queen: Dead Queen -- How NOT to install a queen bee. Last chance for RED DAWN!
For more frequent updates in between videos please visit the Bug Farmer Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/thebugfarmer/
This video can be seen as a lesson on how not to install a queen honeybee. If I had done a lot of things differently this queen would still be alive and the hive may have survived.
This was my last attempt at adding a queen to the red flow hive. All the bees loved her until she laid an egg. After the first egg came the first sting and five minutes later she was on her last legs. Sorry queen. the Red Hive is doomed.

My Flow Hive FAIL - Laying worker lays drone brood in the flow hive flow frame. Flow hive Drama!
For more frequent updates in between videos please visit the Bug Farmer Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/thebugfarmer/
My Flow hive fail. I have a laying worker and a flow hive frame filled with capped drone brood. The Red flow hive is queenless but that doesn't stop them from creating drama in the bee yard. The Red hive has a laying worker that moves freely through the queen excluder and has laid drone brood on every level and on every frame in this hive including the flow hive flow frames. What do I do now? Do I pick the drone brood out of the flow hive frames with tweezers and place the flow frames on another hive or do I wait for 23 days and let them hatch and leave the flow frames? Are drones laid by a laying worker even viable? Will they hatch? I don't know. If you do know, please leave a comment and help me out here.

Checking the status of the splits and preparing the Teal and Pine hives for their moves to the new bee yard up the street. Moving a beehive is a tricky business because they say you have to move it 3 inches or three miles. I am going to move the hive a half-mile and cross my fingers. I will lay tree branches in front of the hives to force the bees to re-orient themselves to their new location. Hopefully, it will work and the bees won't get lost.

Banana Split - Following your advice. Splitting the yellow flowhive again. Too Many bees.
Ok, so we split the yellow hive two weeks ago and started the orange hive again. Then we found the orange queen and accidentally painted her white. Well, now it's time to split the hive again. There are so many bees in this hive they cannot get into the hive through the landing board. The problem is, now I can't find the white queen. They cleaned off her paint. Arrrg!

Seek and Destroy - Full inspection of the RED hive. Time to pinch the queen!
The Red Flowhive has been an evil hive since the beginning of the season. The bees are the spawn of an"Italian" VSH Queen from California but I think she may have a little Africanized bee in her. The bees are very aggressive and attach me every time I open the hive. Now it's time for her to go. I am on a seek and destroy mission to find the evil queen and remover her. We also welcome a new queen to the bee yard. Hello Purple queen!

How-To Fix A Weak Hive - Bee Infusion -- Adding bees to the Orange hive and hoping they stay.:
I may have tried to make the split to early. This is another attempt to save the orange hive. I should have moved the new queen into a new box with some bees and left the queen cells in the Blue hive. Added more bees and sugar syrup and then locked them in the hive for a few days. I hope this forces the bees to adopt he orange hive as their own and not just take the sugar syrup and fly home to the Blue hive. Working hard to stop the robbing and waiting on the nectar flow to start.
