Diver Is Nearly Swallowed By A Whale
A LUCKY diver has spoken of the moment he was nearly SWALLOWED by a whale. Rainer Schimpf was watching the annual sardine run when a 15m Bryde's whale attacked a ball of fish just yards away. Luckily the giant mammal swerved at the last moment to avoid smacking directly into him - but it still sent him flying as it breached. The incident was captured off the coast of Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

These Ducks Love This Dog So Much, It Sometimes Hurts
If you have ever been in love, even just once, then you will know the ultimate universal truth - love hurts. When people say it, they usually mean it metaphorically. But for one pooch in Germany, love literally hurts and there is practically nothing he can do about it.
These saucy birds go quackers for this Labrador Retriever, trying to mate with him at every opportunity! According to their owner, Ulrike Kersjes, 49, from Berlin, Germany, the four frisky male Indian runner ducks have developed an attraction to her shy pet pooch, who's named Miedoso.
Ulrike claims that the reason these four Casanovas have imprinted on poor, old Miedoso so much is because their hormones are running wild and there are no female Indian runner ducks near her home in Berlin. But hey, love knows no boundaries, right?
“It always looks like the four of them are putting their heads together to think up a plan," she says in the video. “While the first one observes the situation, the other three all begin to jump on the dog."
Initially Ulrike thought the dog might be the one to hurt the young ducklings, but as the birds grew she realized her dog was the one that needed protection from the ducks.
Unfortunately for the ducks, the dog does not share enough common DNA for them to mate and create a viable hybrid offspring. Still, what wouldn’t we do to see what a real life dird (dog + bird) would look like.

Great White Shark Tries To Take A Nibble Off Dinghy
We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again - the deep dark waters of the ocean are filled with wonders. We know so little of what is really hiding in its depths, it sometimes even scares us.
When we think of sharks, the first thing that comes to mind are their sharp teeth and beady eyes. These forces of nature can literally freeze the blood in our veins. Some of them are so notorious, they are known to be able to snap a human body in half. However, more gruesome than those instances are the shark corpses found in the ocean. If we think that sharks are dangerous, we need to think again because the dark waters are filled with forces to be reckoned with.
Despite their ill reputation, we can’t ignore the facts that sharks are a masterpiece. They have lithe bodies that are able to thread waters despite their weight. And if you think that they are slowed down by their built, think again. They are so fast that escaping them requires a certain amount of skill, and an enormous amount of luck. It’s only normal that we are afraid of them. This video, however, shows us a different view of sharks. They look mighty different when you aren’t in the way of danger.
A group of German tourists got the shock of a lifetime when a hungry great white attacked their rubber boat. These images show the 12ft female savaging the side of the vessel, causing part of it to deflate. The attack took place off the coast of Mossel Bay in South Africa. The tourists had been on a sightseeing expedition to watch seals when the shark turned up. Rainer Schimpf, who organised the tour, believes the shark mistook the boat for a dead whale.
This is absolutely incredible! The tourist in this boat must have been really scared as if their boat had sunk, the unthinkable could have happened. The shark most likely mistaken the boat for a big seal, as sharks do not attack people as often as the media portrays it. Either way, this really was a scary moment to behold. Good thing everyone is alright!
As much as a scary moment this was, it was still a fascinating moment to be up close and personal with a wild shark! Not many people get a chance to do something like that! Good thing the tourist had the proper water gear as that is what could have saved their lives!
It seems that these great monsters of the deep have a growing fascination with man's vessels. Another Great White was captured on camera trying to take a bite off another, far sturdier boat off Port Lincoln in Australia.
This is one startling video that no one wants to miss!

World Record Catch: Fisherman Snares 800lb Shark
A LAND fisherman caught a record-breaking 805lb mako shark - and then barbecued and ate it with his friends. Joey Polk, 29, and his two cousins Earnie Polk, 43, and Kenny Peterson, 21, battled the 11ft predator for more than an hour before finally hauling it onto the shore at a secret location on the Florida Panhandle. The catch, set on April 15, beat a previous record set by Earnie for a mako weighing 730lbs, in February 2009. The potential world-record is being judged by the International Land-Based Shark Fishing Association, who look at big game catches caught by fishing on dry land. The Polk family normally release their catches and have helped local groups tag hundreds for conservation. However, this shark was too tired after the epic battle and to avoid wasting him the trio enjoyed their catch at a jumbo-sized family barbecue.

Paddle Boarder Gets Surprise Visit From Killer Whales
A paddle boarder got a pleasant surprise when a killer whale mother and calf surfaced in front of him. Bruce Miller was paddling off Auckland's North Shore in New Zealand when the close encounter occurred. He then used a head-mounted camera to film underwater as they swam away.
Isn’t nature just amazing? Curiosity is a trait every living creature on this planet demonstrates, but the little ones express it the most. When you go for an adventure into nature, whether it is in the woods or the open ocean, you are bound to be greeted by Mother Nature’s curious creatures.
Standup paddle boarding is touted for its relaxing appeal, as you cruise around flat calm waters out in the open ocean. But for Bruce here, his day on the water brought something completely different!
The paddle boarder was out in clear, calm waters on a bright, sunny day, his GoPro camera strapped on his head when he saw the adult orca in the distance. Very soon afterwards, her calf came right under Bruce’s feet, exploring this creature outside of the water.
Unfazed by the animals’ sheer size and power, Bruce then unmounted his camera and submerged it underwater to get a closer look at his visitors. The ocean’s giants just glided away, blowing gusts of air through their blowholes as they continued on their path.

Diver Puts Sharks Into A Trance
A diver puts a Caribbean reef shark into a trance using just his hands. British underwater photographer Simon Enderby captured the amazing moment during a routine feeding dive off the coast of the Bahamas. One diver can be seen reaching out to touch the shark, triggering receptors in its nose and inducing a state of immobility. The shark then rests vertically in the palm of his hand, before snapping out of the trance and swimming away. The technique - called tonic immobility - is widely used by shark handlers and doesn't harm the shark.
