Siren Pedals Etana Overdrive - The Lindsay Ell Signature Pedal
What's Up Party People??!! Today, we take a look at the Etana - the brand new overdrive from the good folks over at Siren Pedals in Nashville, TN.
So this is a transparent overdrive and boost pedal modeled loosely after the Klon and co-designed by Country guitarist Lindsay Ell as her signature pedal!
She did a really great preview over on Siren's youtube channel where she went through each of the six suggested settings and what she uses them for. You can find that video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfPO5...
That preview was done with a Fender Strat, so I wanted to give you a preview using a guitar with humbuckers. For this video, I am using a 2021 Squier Paranormal Series Toronado!

Creator Hangout: Episode 4 - Mike from CGS!!!!!!
Whats Up Party People!?! Today is another great day and another lovely episode of one of my favorite segments to do - Creator Hangout, where I get to hang out with other youtube content creators.
Mike is one of my absolute favorites! He is a fantastic guy and has been a huge supporter of me getting the channel started! I first discovered his channel through Leigh Fuge during 42 Gear Street 2 last year and I've been a huge fan ever since!
Mike was gracious enough to humor me for an interview. Despite some audio issues in spots, we had a great chat and I got a chance to learn about his background more in depth!!

Box of Bodaciousness: The Monkey Lord!!!!
Whats Up Party People?! Today I unbox a guitar that normally I wouldnt have been that interested in. However, this particular one was owned and used by Rob Chapman on his Youtube channel.
Rob has a really cool deal going with Charlie Busuttil, owner of Band Aid Music on the island of Malta. That deal is that whenever Rob is done using a guitar for the channel, he sells it to Charlie, who then makes it available for purchase in his store.
This provides peasants like me an opportunity to own a piece of Chapman Guitars history as well as an instrument owned by Youtube Royalty!
This is the original prototype of this model, which was made exclusively for distribution by Thomann.
Enjoy!!

Kalavera FX Voltan Drive - Holy S%#T, This Thing Is Great!!!!!
What's Up Party People?! Today, we do a deep dive into the Voltan Drive from Kalavera FX.
This is a company I randomly stumbled onto while browsing instagram and was really impressed with what I saw and heard!
I reached out to Jozef, the owner and asked if he'd like me to demo either of them, and we agreed on this one.
Per our conversation, this is supposed to be a cross between a blues driver and a tubescreamer. Personally, i think it hits a little harder than traditional ones of those type of pedals.
The thing I'm most impressed by though is the range with this thing. It sounds great pretty much everywhere you have the knobs set to!
Leave a comment and let me know what you think! If you want more info or want to pick one up, here are the company's links:

Don't Buy A Marshall JCM800 Till You See This
Whats Up party People!!?
If You're like me, I know you're a lover of classic amps like the Marshall JCM800!
The problem (for me) is that my eyes are bigger than my wallet and theres no way I can drop wads of cash on a JCM800.
But, I CAN afford an effects pedal that models it impecably. The MarshHell JCM800 from Chris Ray Premium FX does just that.
Its got two op-amps for tons of range, a boatload of knobs and is really easy to dial in. Having the treble turned past 1 o clock is a bit shrill for me, but other than that, I LOVE This pedal!
Chris Ray and his wife team up to build effects pedals. He does the circuitry and she does the artwork and both are amazing!

Guitar Tips For When You Feel "Stuck:" Part 1
What's Up Party People!? Today, we are addressing the frustration around being in a period with guitar where you feel like you're stuck and are not sure what to do next to improve.
I strongly believe this is one of the main reasons why so many people have played "on and off" instead of being consistent and staying with it.
So many things get thrown at you as a musician that it can be really hard to sort through them and have a sense of purpose and direction.
I know I've felt overwhelmed before and numerous occasions, but I was able to push through thanks to great teachers and mentors and some of the tips in this video that people have passed on to me.
Let me know in the comments if you find these helpful or not! And also, what advice have you been given that helped you break through and start improving again?
Keep in mind these opinions are my own, but they did help me immensely in my guitar journey.

I Finally Own A Custom Built Guitar - Andersen Brothers Guitars LP1
Whats Up Party People!? I finally own a custom built guitar!
My buddy Troy Andersen from Andersen Brothers Guitars here in Iowa had this LP-style guitar in his shop and I wanted it, so I had him put in Seymour Duncan Distortions and change some other things cosmetically to my specs.
Troy's strong suit is paint and finishing on guitars and this green is absolutely awesome!
This guitar is really fun to play and absolutely growls with the SD Distortions, even on 'clean' settings.
Head on over to Troy's Facebook page and check out his other work! If you see something you like, reach out to him!!

Glarry GST2 Vs Vintage (the brand) V6 - Strat DEATH MATCH!!!
Whats Up Party People?!!! Today, we take a look at two guitars that are far apart in price but still have a common denominator!
That common Denominator is beloved hardware and pickup guru Trev Wilkinson!
For this rendition of the GST, Glarry teamed up with Trev Wilkinson to try and improve their pickups.
The GST2's have Wilkinson WOVS Ceramic Magnet Pickups and the Vintage has Wilkinson WVS Alnico 5's.
The Glarrys come in at $149.99 while the Vintage V6's are $449.99. What I want to know is: do these two guitars sound remotely close to each other despite the $300 price difference?
Here are links for both brands. If you like what you hear, support them by making a purchase!

The guitar gods have smiled on me and I managed to procure one early thanks to my contact Joe Ravita over at Empire Music in Pittsburgh.
I love my 2020 Toronado so much that I bought one of each color from this year! Specs appear to be the same between the 2021 and 2020 models.
For 2021's model though, it feels like the pickups sound a bit warmer than last year. Let me know what you think!

Squier Paranormal Series Toronado - One Year Later - Is It Still Relevant?
Whats Up Party People?! I know I'm really late on this one. However, Fender just announced the new Squier Paranormal Series for 2021.
They are essentially the exact same models as 2020 only in different colors. One of the series, the Toronado, is one of my all time favorite guitars.
The first quality guitar I ever owned was a MIM Fender Toronado. I sold it a few years ago and missed it dearly. So, when Fender announced the Toronados as part of this lineup, I was smitten with excitement.
The original Toronado was produced from 1998 to 2006. It was Fender's answer to the SG, but never really caught on until well after manufacturing ceased.
The 2020 release included black (shown in this video) and Lake Placid Blue. The 2021 colors include Seafoam Green Metallic and 3-tone sunburst.
The 2020 models are nearly sold out everywhere, so make sure you pre-order the 2021 models if you want one.

Noise Pollution Pedals SuperBee - "Dripping" Buzzsaw of Tone
What's Up Party People?! Today, we take a deep dive into the hive of buzzing bodaciousness that is the SuperBee overdrive from our friends over at Noise Pollution Pedals.
This is a simple 3-knob circuit - Volume, Gain, Tone. It does a really great job of taking the natural tones of a guitar and boosting those while adding just a little bit of grit!
This pedal sounds great with a variety of guitars. In this particular video, we play through it with my Gretsch Duo Jet G5222 as well as my Fender MIM Strat.
Come along for the ride and let me know what you think.

Glarry GST2 - Upgraded Strat. Its improved, but is it enough?
Whats up Party People?!
Today, we take the plunge into the new and improved strat-style guitar from the good folks over at Glarry.
If you remember my deep dive on the GST1, I really loved the neck and fretboard on that guitar, but the pickups sounded flat and it had some issues staying in tune.
For the GST2, Glarry teamed up (albeit temporarily) with renowned hardware and pickup designer Trev Wilkinson for better pickups (the Wilkinson WVOs to be exact).
They have also replaced the old plastic nut with a bone nut and the GST2 stays in tune much better than the GST1 does.
So, today, we answer the ultimate question - Has Glarry done enough to warrant the $149.99 price tag?
Don't forget to like and subscribe. Also, leave me a comment and let me know what you think of this one!

My Favorite Guitar - Chapman Guitars ML3 Modern Abyss w/ My Favorite Overdrive Pedal!
Whats up Party People!!!? Today, we take another look at my absolute favorite guitar in my collection, the Chapman Guitars ML3 Modern Abyss.
Chapman Guitars is a UK-based company that makes really versatile guitars for honest prices.
Leave a comment and let me know what you think of this guitar!
This is the guitar that I will learn to chug and shred on and its perfect for that because its built for drop tunings.
The Deep Dive video I did for this was whack because of bad amp mic placement on my part. However, this one turned out immensely better.
For overdrive, i am using the SuperBee transparent overdrive, my current favorite OD pedal from Noise Pollution Pedals.
I find myself using the ML3 modern in a ton of videos and its one of the main ones I pick up when I practice daily.

Donner Dark Horizon Distortion
Hi All, Donner has a new line of pedals coming out called the vivid series and I got my hands on the first distortion in the new line - the Dark Horizon.
In this video I preview it with a Squier Toronado and and Vintage (the brand) V6 to give you an idea of the dynamic range.
Donner is know for making really affordable (and often decent-sounding) pedals and this one is no exception. It's $41.99 at Donner's website. The link is here:

Glarry GST Strat - 1st Impressions!
What's up party people! Today, I plug the Glarry GST in to an amp (in this case my Traynor YCV40) for the very first time!
I really excited to see how this sounds and plays! I really want to know if an $80 guitar is viable for a beginner to learn on or can it be modded to become viable.
Join me as I check this out! And stay tuned for the Deep Dive, which is coming soon!!
