Yukon gold or Russet potatoes are my favorites.
I use heavy cream for the sauce. Alternatively, you can use any kind of cream of soup.
Feel free to use your preferred type of cheese. I usually go for freshly grated Parmesan, cheddar, or shredded Gruyere.
I use chopped parsley, minced garlic, salt, ground black pepper, dried thyme, rosemary, basil, and nutmeg as seasonings.
Suggested Equipment for Preparing This Recipe:
I prefer the 6-quart slow cooker since it is dependable and reasonably priced. You are free to use any kind, though.
Mandoline: This tool slices potatoes really well.
How are scalloped potatoes made in a slow cooker?
Get the potatoes ready: Peel and clean the potatoes. Next, cut them into pieces that are about 1/8 of an inch thick with a mandoline.
Prepare the sauce: Put the nutmeg, thyme, garlic, and heavy cream in a saucepan and heat over medium heat. Continue whisking until the sauce is thoroughly blended.

Recipe: Filipino-Inspired Barbecue Pork Skewers
Ingredients
For the barbecue pork skewers:
2 ½ lb pork shoulder
1 head of garlic, peeled and chopped
¼ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
½ cup soy sauce
⅓ cup packed dark brown sugar
½ cup ketchup
1 12oz can of 7-UP
Grape oil, for brushing the grill
Thinly sliced green onion, for garnish
For the soup sauce:
¼ cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons packed dark brown sugar
¼ cup ketchup
For the vinegar chili sauce:
⅓ cup rice vinegar
2 cloves of garlic, chopped
1 long red chili pepper, de-stemmed and chopped
½ teaspoon kosher salt
¼ teaspoon of freshly ground Gelson's black pepper
Special equipment: 20 bamboo skewers.
Instructions
To prepare the grilled pork skewers: Cut the pork into pieces: ¼” thick, 1” wide and about 3” long.
In a large bowl, combine the garlic, lemon juice, soy sauce, dark brown sugar, and ketchup and stir until the brown sugar dissolves. Add 7-UP and stir to combine. Add the pork pieces and toss until completely coated. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or up to 24 hours.
Soak 20 bamboo skewers in water for at least 1 hour or overnight.
To make the soup sauce: In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, dark brown sugar, and ketchup and whisk until the sugar dissolves. Set aside.
To make the vinegar-chili sauce: In a small bowl, combine the rice vinegar, garlic, red chilies, kosher salt, and black pepper. Set aside.
Thread the pieces of pork onto the soaked skewers, placing 3 to 5 pieces on each skewer.
Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Carefully brush the grates with grape oil.
Grill skewers, brushing each side with soup sauce, turning skewers every 2 minutes until cooked through and charred, 6 to 8 minutes total.
Garnish the pork with green onions and serve hot with vinegar chili sauce.
