Cities work to come up with marijuana policies in wake of vote to legalize

From Royal Oak to Windsor, the rollout of legalized marijuana means lots of changes. In Royal Oak, they’re not quite ready to treat marijuana the same as alcohol, even if the people have given pot the green light in Michigan. Some people have offered strong opinions following the passing of an ordinance in Royal Oak that says no to marijuana shops opening up.

Detroit police looking for men who robbed women in Corktown

The Detroit Police Department released surveillance video of a man using a weapon to intimidate two women in Corktown to hand over their purses.  The robbery happened in Corktown near Union Station on November 4th around 4:30 p.m.  According to police, the two victims were walking to their car when two men in a black Chrysler 200 got out of their car and demanded their purses.

These are the most dangerous intersections in metro Detroit

Winter is coming to metro Detroit and that means we'll have slippery roads which can cause many problems. There are already several dangerous intersections in metro Detroit, and Kim Russell is taking a look at them. The Southeast Michigan Coalition of Governments (SEMCOG), has created a database showing when, where, and how every single reported traffic crash happens. They created the database to find out where drivers are most in danger.

People who have pets buried in a Livingston County Pet Cemetery are getting shocking news. The cemetery is being evicted from the land.  Flowers left recently at grave sites, and affectionate messages on headstones at the Heavenly Acres Pet Cemetery tell the story of the love between people and their pets.   One person is even buried there.  She wanted her ashes with her animals.

Jamila Lawson, 16, and Ayanna Lawson, 17, have already suffered a lot of loss in their young lives. Two years ago, not long after their family's home burned down, their father passed away. Then, on the first day of school this year, their mother died. "I just feel like time heals everything and you just gotta try to be happy," said Jamila. "We were their princesses and everything."

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos is proposing a major overhaul to the way colleges handle complaints of sexual misconduct. The Education Department released a plan Friday that would require schools to investigate sexual assault and harassment only if the alleged misconduct was reported to certain campus officials and only if it occurred on campus or other areas overseen by the school.
