Today I do something I rarely do, which is run a segment from another show. After introducing it, I will show you the last ten minutes of last week's Grace Cafe broadcast. I was so emotionally wrecked/thrilled by what Rodney Paris did at the end of that show that I had to share it with you. This is the final installment on this topic. In 1 Corinthians 15:51, Paul tells us that we shall not all be put to repose. The problem at hand (1 Corinthians 15:50) is that flesh and blood cannot enjoy an allotment in the kingdom of God. Why is this a problem? Because when Christ comes, there will be flesh and blood saints living upon the earth. (The dead in Christ are no longer flesh and blood.) How will these living saints be made incorruptible? Will they have to die first so that they will no longer be flesh and blood? No! The great revelation of this passage is that a handful of saint will not be put to repose, but will be made incorruptible while they yet walk upon the earth. How does God do it? He doesn’t say. And who cares? He just does it. Whammo! Just like that. That’s God for you. Our brother Clyde Pilkington does not believe that “we shall not all be put to repose” applies to anyone at the return of Christ. Where does he apply it? First of all: are you sitting down? Fine. Are you sipping an adult beverage? Even better. Clyde tells us in his Bible Student’s Notebook, Volume 34, Issue 837, that these words apply...(are you sure you’re sitting down?)...AT THE CONSUMMATION. That’s right. At the time when all will have been made alive, when death will have been abolished, and when no one will be able to die anymore...THIS is when Paul walks in and says, “Hey. Psst. We shall not all be put to repose.” Remember that Paul is addressing the saints: “WE shall not all be put to repose.” Also note that if we shall not ALL be put to repose, then some WILL be put to repose. And so Mr. Pilkington has Paul walking up to members of the body of Christ...AT THE CONSUMMATION...and saying, “Some of you will be put to repose.” After performing this amazing feat of misappropriation, Mr. Pilkington has the nerve to tell US that WE are forcing 1 Corinthians 15 into 1 Thessalonians 4. Hm. Seems like a natural fit to me. In both passages Paul is contrasting living and dead saints, and we have a trumpet rousing the dead. Doesn’t sound like much of a force job to me. What IS a force job? Wrenching a passage promising incorruption to a handful of corruptible, flesh and blood saints, and forcing it into a passage where everyone is already incorruptible and there is no flesh and blood on the premises. A force job is taking a secret that some will not die, and telling it to immortal people for whom it is impossible to die. How can someone who does this to the Word of God be trusted to rightly interpret it? Do not allow anyone to steal your expectation, no matter how sincere they might be. Our apostle Paul has the final word on the snatching away and on those saints remaining alive at the return of Christ who will not die. It is hard for us to think like those who love the eon and who want to live long lives upon the earth. We long to see Christ and we groan within these bodies of death. Besides this, we writhe in pain for the corporate suffering of all humanity. Not everyone thinks like we do, however. Some people care only for their own plans in this life, especially those plans having to do with family ties. We also love our families, but we love Christ’s advent even more and we look for Him at every moment. The pathetic paucity and flimsiness of the “evidence” offered by those like Clyde Pilkington and Stephen Hill as they attempt to prove that half of Paul’s letters are not for us, that we all must die, that the return of Christ is hundreds of years away, and that we are “wasting our time” looking for Christ's return, is shocking and must be exposed for what it is. Today I look at more mistranslations, this time concerning “a thousand generations,” an Old Testament phrase hijacked by the "Paul-cutters" in their efforts to put Christ's return far into the future. In an accurate translation, this phrase does not even say what they say it says. Take courage! Let our spirit-inspired apostle be true though every man a liar. Our fellow believer Clyde Pilkington teaches contrary to our apostle Paul by saying that every member of the body of Christ must die. Paul says that we shall NOT all be put to repose (1 Corinthians 15:51). One of the verses Mr. Pilkington uses to "prove" his point is Hebrews 9:27. The only problem is that he isolates the verse from its context and then quotes it from a bad translation, namely, the KJV. When you see what Hebrews 9:27 is REALLY saying, then the desperation of those who love the eon and don't want to leave their families at the snatching away will become transparent. These individuals are twisting and misquoting any Scripture they can in order to 1) put off the return of Christ so that they can enjoy their families, and 2) eliminate from Paul's revelation the snatching away of the body of Christ. Why in the world would body of Christ members not want to be snatched away by Christ, a thing which Paul describes in great and simple detail in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17? 1) most of their families will not go, 2) they don't trust Christ with their families, 3) it scares them to think of being lifted off the earth, 4) they want to die natural deaths because that which is known to them soothes their souls—as opposed to being almost violently snatched away from the earth, an unfamiliar experience which unnerves them more than natural death. Pharaoh acted magnificently, decisively, and certainly faithfully upon Joseph's interpretation of his dream, spending millions of dollars building grain silos and appointing Joseph the administrator over banking one-fifth of Egypt's produce for seven years against seven years of coming famine—in accord with Joseph's interpretation. Think about the faith this took—upon the part of Pharaoh. Dedicating money and manpower and great discipline during the seven years when, really, nothing was happening, with nothing but the interpretation of a dream to lean upon. All in accord with the promise that seven years of famine were coming, Lo, a greater than Joseph is here. Our dreams are not interpreted, but rather (and better) we have promises from the very mouth of God. Are these promises less sure to be realized than the dream of a heathen king? Let us, then, dedicate everything to this Word of God, in faith and in deed, against the coming fulfillment of all that God has said concerning us. In 2 Corinthians 12, Paul relates the account of a man (himself) snatched away into Paradise (the Third Heaven) by God, where he hears "ineffable declarations that are not allowed a man to speak" (2 Corinthians 12:4). Paul never did speak these secrets. He never revealed them AT THAT TIME. But did Paul, at a later time, record them for the benefit of the saints? The answer, I now believe, is, "Of course he did." Christianity believes that salvation from a human (in cooperation with Christ) is essential. God says (Psalm 60:11) that salvation from a human is futile. I wonder who is right. I'm not myself yet. I tried setting up the studio today, but this was the best I could do. It basically sucks but I fixed it with editing tricks. Don't think I'll be able to swing the studio yet for a while. I didn’t realize until I was editing this video that I was already starting to talk with a little bit of a lisp because my tooth infection was going from the right side of my throat into my mouth—specifically under my tongue. I woke up at 12:30 am to find the bottom of my mouth so swollen that I couldn’t even stick out my tongue or tuck the tip of it under my teeth. The abscess was pushing my tongue toward the top of my mouth. I was dressing to go to the ER when I started researching abscesses, and I realized that I would PROBABLY not go into sepsis, and that I will PROBABLY still be able to breathe, and so I got back undressed and went to bed. Since waking up at 4 o’clock, the swelling has gone down somewhat. Nevertheless, for your entertainment, I will share with you on Monday a short video I made showing how I was talking during the full-blown mouth invasion. Today’s MZTV is a beautiful/horrible analysis of how religion will drive a man to feats of asceticism that completely ignore and deny the cross of Christ. The people who insist that we must "accept Christ's free gift or go to hell for eternity," do not accept Christ's free gift themselves.
