0:03 / 1:23:02 1+ Hour Amazing Uncut Footage of Bald Eagles Enduring Hurricane Ian
Check out this amazing 4K footage of what it is like to be am American Bald Eagle during a hurricane in Central Florida. On September 29th 2022, this nest took a direct hit from Hurricane Ian which caused 65-80MPH wind gusts in the local area. The mating pair of eagles, named Pepe and Muhlady, hunkered down in the very nest they worked so hard to build for weeks before the hurricane event. The eagles visited the nest off and on throughout the storm and where they went when not in camera view is still unknown. The nest lost some material during the storm but we are happy to report the eagles are ok and they promptly returned to the nest to start rebuilding. They have been bringing in many sticks and branches preparing for raising young in the next few months.

SEASON 2: Pepe & Muhlady Are Back in Town!
In this video we see Muhlady already in The Nest as Pepe sticks his first landing kicking off Season 2!
Muhlady returned to The Nest in early August and Pepe finally caught the jet stream to land in The Nest on 8/30, during Hurricane Idalia. He always knows how to make an entrance. The two adult mating pair of bald eagles will start 'nestorations' soon as they prepare for a new clutch of young eaglets. Season 1 offered an intimate look into the life cycle of a bald eagle family. This year we have added new P/S proof cameras and more upgrades behind the scenes. Enjoy!

Bald Eagle vs. Baby Shark ??? #baldeagle #trophy catch #slab #catfish #fishing #doesthisthingwork?
Watch Pepe do the heavy lifting as he hauls in a trophy catch to The Nest.
No, it's not a baby shark like Muhlady thinks, rather it's a catfish, probably a 2-3 pounder! How much weight can these bald eagles lift? Tune in next week when Pepe brings a VW Golf to the perch for a late night snack.
With two eaglets in The Nest and a pair of productive parents, this sizable catfish only lasted about 36 hours before it was completely eaten. Not to worry though, Pepe is on the level and brings food gifts almost every day.
Thanks for watching and for Pete's sake, SUBSCRIBE ALREADY!

Stick It To Me!! The Nest Gets Renovated with Pepe & Muhlady for the 2022 Season.
Lumber prices are on the decline so Pepe & Muhlady have been busy rebuilding their nest since the beginning of the season. Here is a snippet of video from ONE DAY at the nest with some intense home remodeling. The eagles are building 'rails' on the nest which will protect the young hatchlings from falling out before they can fly. These birds are smart, and fascinating to watch!

Pepe's Favorite Perch
It's a lot of work being a Bald Eagle and Pepe loves his perching spot. Between catching all meals, rebuilding a nest or just flying around while looking cool, Pepe always finds the time to rest and recharge. Fortunately for SuperBeaks, Pepe is not shy and loves the attention.

Are Bald Eagles Lightning Proof? Pepe & Muhlady Watch Intense Lighting Storm in Central Florida.
Join Pepe & Muhlady as they enjoy a typical evening at The Nest. Watch as they conclude their nestorations just in time for one of natures most terrifying yet eye popping weather events, the thunderstorm.
Thunderstorms in Florida are not shocking but did you know that Florida is the lightning capital of the United States? Florida, more specifically the corridor between Tampa and Orlando, sees the highest frequency of cloud to ground lightning strikes than any other area in the United States. This means spectacular footage for all of our viewers and especially for Pepe & Muhlady, who in this particular clip can be seen perched on their porch for a front row seat to the show.
The geographical location combined with the shape of Florida’s peninsula is the number one reason thunderstorms develop almost every afternoon. Florida’s peninsula is surrounded by water that is relatively cooler than the afternoon temperatures over land. Land temperatures reach the upper 80s and 90s on a daily basis due to us being so far south towards the equator.
Land heats up quickly compared to the water and temperatures will reach the low 90s by early afternoon. The warm air over the land begins to rise high up into the atmosphere while the cooler air over the water sinks. The rising motion of the air over the land pulls in the cooler air from the water to fill the void. This phenomenon is called the sea-breeze and occurs on both coasts.
The sea breeze acts as a “mini cold front” and showers and thunderstorms develop along it as it moves inland. Thunderstorms easily develop with plenty of moisture in the atmosphere each day, again thanks to Florida being so far south and surrounded by water. As temperatures heat up each afternoon, there is a lot of energy for thunderstorms to use up, grow tall and produce excessive lightning.
SuperBeaks has taken every precaution necessary to protect our equipment from lightning damage so we can continue to bring you this incredible footage, uninterrupted and without delay.
We hope you enjoy and don't forget to tell your friends, family, teachers and pastor about the SuperBeaks YouTube channel, you'll brighten their day!

What Happens When a Hurricane Hits a Bald Eagle Nest ?
Hurricane Ian Slams Florida on September 29th 2022 causing widespread wind and flood damage up and down the state. SuperBeaks HQ took a hard hit from the hurricane losing utility power for 8 days along with a historic flood event making it almost impossible to continue operations. Our engineers were quick to find a way to provide generator power to the cam equipment and also protect the HQ from a total flood. This exclusive footage reveals what it's like to be in a Bald Eagles nest during a hurricane. We want to thank all of those that protected SuperBeaks HQ and we hope you enjoy the imagery of these beautiful birds.
