Prince Edward, The Duke of Edinburgh at the commemorative celebrations for the Cavalry memorial
Every second Sunday in May, the combined cavalry of the UK Army parade in Hyde Park, Central London.
More than 3,000 serving veterans and reserve personnel attended the parade, which initially remembered the fallen from the First World War but now pays tribute to those from subsequent conflicts.
Prince Edward, the Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Dragoon Guards, met members of the Association, most of whom were wearing traditional bowler hats and carrying furled umbrellas, before laying a wreath at the memorial.
Dedicated to our UK Army personnel who have served, retired, and died and valiantly served our country.

The forgotten Arabs of Iran - The Al Ahwazi
With the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the Al Ahwazi who are being persecuted in Iran has been forgotten by the World.
They are seen as dissidents by the Iranian regime and are summarily tried and executed without trial by jury and put to death.
The Iranians steal their oil reserves to fund their hegemony and the Al Ahwazi people want their land returned.

Iranian protestors "sit in" outside UK Foreign Office - Over 400 days now
Iranians opposed to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the religious old men (Mullahs) ruling Iran have set up camp opposite the Foreign Office in King Charles Street, London, to protest against the Iranian regime.
Vahid Beheshti, a British-Iranian man who initiated this, is trying to persuade the British government to designate Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organisation.
Recently, a reporter working for Iran International, Pouria Zeraati, was stabbed outside his home. Iran International presenter and former BBC World Service journalist Sima Sabet reported on X that police had urged her to leave her home following the attack on Mr Zeraati.
This protest has now been going on for over 400 days!

Jimi Hendrix Experience - Live @ the BBC -1969
Legendary performance by the Jimi Hendrix Experience on the Lulu show @ the BBC in 1969.
The band Cream had just broken up, and Jimi roared into "Sunshine of Your Love" at the end, which caused chaos as the 6 pm News slot had to wait for him to finish. The JHE was banned from the BBC after that.
The BBC wiped their old 2-inch videotapes, and by chance, one of the BBC staff found this amongst a lot of motor racing footage and saved it for the World to see.

Jimi Hendrix Experience - Like a Rolling Stone
A tune of a Bob Dylan song I always enjoyed listening to.
I was in Soho this morning, and all of a sudden, Mitch Mitchel sprang into my mind as I passed a pub I used to have a few drinks with him and a good chat.
He told me some great stories about his time on the road with Jimi and the Experience. I just wish I had taped him talking, but all that is long gone now!

Planet ABBA at Cancer Research after party - London Winter 10K run
Cancer, or the big "C" word, will affect all of us in one way or another during our lifetimes.
It is heartening to see many people going out on the Cancer Research UK - London Winter Run 10K for this cause and raise money for such a notable charity. Even better, Cancer Research UK put on an after-party with entertainers, including Planet ABBA in Trafalgar Square. Apologies for the sound quality, but this was great fun, and a moderately large audience thronged Trafalgar Square to jump around and have fun in the cold.
So, respect to all the runners and families raising money for charity and for all those cancer sufferers out there, we are with you and think about you.

Mental issues - Why are people having so many problems these days?
I filmed a video when a woman had an "episode" in Parliament Square, Central London, outside the building where our MPs meet.
Her boyfriend, being quite aggressive, approached the security guard next to Sir Winston Churchill's statue. He did nothing positive to calm the situation down or help her.
What do you think is causing all these problems?
I don't think the woman was on drugs, just mentally unbalanced.
What do you think?

Insomnia? - Lie back relax and go to sleep
As I get older, it gets much more challenging to get to sleep.
Then, getting a whole night of relaxing sleep is not easy.
I started creating sounds so that I might read and have some background music playing to get my brain in a receptive mood for sleep.
I hope you like this; relax, listen and hopefully get a good night's sleep.
Life is tough these days. With everything going on out there, we need our own time and space to get away from it all.

Julian Assange - High Court London February 20th briefing
This is the lunchtime briefing about Julian Assange's hearing on February 20th.
The last speaker is Stella Assange, who makes a very moving speech, but the other speakers also have strong messages.
It is disgraceful what Julian Assange is going through, and these extradition attempts to the USA are unjust.
This is ALL about freedom of speech, and if we let this happen, I dread thinking about what is coming next on the global agenda.

Grand Funk Railroad Ohio, 1970 - Old Rockers never die
Some old footage of Grand Funk at its best.
Mark Farner was a great performer and a very competent guitarist, and it is a shame the band fell out with each other.
David Fricke of Rolling Stone magazine once said, "You cannot talk about rock in the 1970s without talking about Grand Funk Railroad!"
Rolling Stone magazine of those days was worth listening to.

Canned Heat - A change is gonna come/Leaving this town - Woodstock
Legendary band Canned Heat performing at Woodstock.
I was lucky enough to see them several times live with the original line-up over here in the UK. They really knew how to get an audience going with a great deal of energy led by Al "blind owl Wilson" and Bob "the bear Hite.
Echoes from a very distant but pleasant past still resonating in my brain.

Chuck Berry - Toronto Rock and Roll Revival 1969
You have to take your hat off to this guy he was a great performer but liked to play in whatever key he felt like at the time. Looked like everyone was having a great time there up in Toronto and when you consider this was a "pick up' band he played with for this festival they did a pretty good job.

Earl Hooker - Vastly underrated blues guitarist playing a couple of tunes.
Earl Hooker Earl was the blues-guitarist's guitarist, a commanding presence on the Chicago scene, captivating countless listeners, but remained an enigma. His instrumental performances rival those of Freddie King’s ditties, and he affected players across the spectrum – the shortlist includes George Harrison, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, and anyone else purveying standard-tuned slide guitar.
Sadly he died in 1970, way before his time, at the age of 40 from Tuberculosis.

Paul Butterfield Blues Band - 1969 - Everything's gonna be alright
Legendary band and if you never heard of them you don't know what you missed. Paul Butterfield is a blues legend and was best mates with Mike Bloomfield.
This outstanding performance at Woodstock, starting at 06 am in the morning, nearly went unnoticed but, in my opinion, is one of the best performances and was unmissable.
Sit back and enjoy, and turn up the volume
