Shadow Home Affairs Minister James Paterson says there would be “severe consequences” for Iran if they become involved in broadening the Israel-Gaza conflict. “Iran is intimately involved in these attacks, and Iran would be certainly involved if there is an escalation of these attacks,” Mr Paterson told Sky News Australia. Mr Paterson says Iran has “enormous influence” over other terrorist groups in the Middle East region. “What Iran needs to understand in return is that the resolve of the United States and its allies is also very clear," he said. “There would be very severe consequences, obviously, if it were to be involved in broadening or widening this conflict.”

Former IDF Intelligence Corps head of research Yossi Kuperwasser says the terrorist group Hamas are preventing Palestinian civilians from leaving Gaza in order to use them as “human shields”. Former White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney says Joe Biden is “trying to look like a president” and trying to “look capable” amid his recent visit to Israel. “He’s trying to sort of beat down those hushed whispers about his mental capacity and so forth,” Mr Mulvaney told Sky News Australia. President Biden recently visited Tel Aviv as the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas continues to escalate. Mr Mulvaney said Joe Biden’s visit was a “good trip”. “It’s a nice gutsy trip,” he told Sky News Australia. “It’s a good show of the flag – it’s in the middle of an active warzone et cetera. “He looks presidential, there’s no question about it."
