S1 E14 1 + 1 = Accountability in a Relationship | Portia Carney | Balin A. Durr, MD
There are two people in a relationship, and both people are responsible for what happens in it, for contributing to the experiences of it. But how often do we point the finger at each other, blaming the other one as though there’s only one person in the relationship?
“1 + 1 = Accountability in a Relationship” explores the fundamental equation of responsibility within partnerships. This episode delves into the dynamics of accountability, emphasizing the importance of mutual trust, communication, and respect in sustaining healthy relationships.
In this “Unapologetically Real” segment, my special guest, Portia Carney, MBA, has a candid, insightful discussion and shares real-life examples that help navigate the intricacies of owning one's actions, foster understanding, and build stronger connections built on honesty and integrity. Accountability is a cornerstone of healthy personal and professional relationships and most importantly, to our relationship with ourselves. We can keep talking about other people’s dysfunctional choices, but it’s not until we are accountable for our own choices that we can change our experiences and make our lives better.
