Episode 5 - Ogden, Utah
I spent the night at a Motel 6 in Ogden. It was the first night since I started this adventure that I didn't stay in a Quality Inn, or Best Western. The room I got was a "double". It was two rooms, divided by a wall & door. One room was still being remodeled and was basically empty. The other was roughly furnished, but the bed was comfortable.
In the morning however, there were ants crawling all over the floor of both rooms. I was glad I didn't leave anything on the floor.. I got my stuff together, loaded up the bike, checked out and went to Denny's for some breakfast. I only had to make it back into Oregon today. Then I could relax for the final leg of the journey on Sunday.

Episode 4 - Leaving Cheyenne
After running out of gas in Nebraska the previous evening, I made it to the east side of Cheyenne at 11:30pm, in 38º weather.
I was freezing. The hotel was being remodeled & there were two buses full of 4-H high school kids staying there. I got the last room the Best Western Plus had, and I got it at half price. It smelled like fresh paint & new carpet, but I didn’t mind. All I needed was a hot shower & a warm bed.
After a great night’s sleep and a big breakfast, I made a quick trip up the road to Wal-Mart for a new hoodie & a tank of gas. That’s where I dropped the bike at the pumps. I looked like a fool, but there was no other damage. After picking it up & filling up, I hit the road.
Oh... Wyoming has the cheapest gas in the country.

Ridin' On The Storm
It rains 280 days a year in Portland. It's just how it is. People say, "If you don't like the weather, too bad. It's all we got!"
So I bought a bike, and now if I wanna ride, I gotta ride in the rain.

Peoria-Episode 2
I found it!!
It turns out the GoPro's clock was off by 12 hours, so it marked the next video I recorded as the next day's video.
Anyway, I got a 2 Gallon gas can at Wal-Mart, & strapped it to the rear rack of the bike. I filled it up & headed out to the highway.

Road Trip Videos: Number 1 - Peoria Illinois
January 7, 2024 I saw a 1985 Honda V65 Magna for sale on Cycle-Trader.com.
Forty years ago, I used to have a V65 Magna, an '83, but the same thing for most intents & purposes. I bookmarked the ad, & told myself if it was still around in April, I was going to buy it.
Time went by, I paid off my bills, kept checking on it, & it was still there, so April 1st, I had my bank do the wire transfer, & it was (financially) mine. I still had to get to Peoria from Portland, & get the bike back to the west coast.
So, I booked a one way flight to St. Louis April 4th, and reserved a rent-a-car to drive to Peoria April 5th.
Then, the airline broke my plane & cancelled my flight. So I had to rebook everything for the 9th & 10th. This time the trip included a 14 hour layover in Denver. No problem. I managed to get a few naps in.
Anyway, I made it to Peoria, and got my bike. I loaded my gear onto it, & headed out to the highway for a 2,000 mile ride. Along the way, I remembered just how powerful, exciting, & just a little bit scary this bike can be.
Thanks to the folks at World Of Powersports. This wouldn't have been possible without your patience while I took three months to buy it.
