Don't Shrink Back Ep 11: Venture capitalist and gubernatorial candidate Guy Nohra
Guy Nohra is a venture capitalist who a few years ago decided to run for Nevada Governor, after seeing the way the Covid situation was being mishandled by Nevada’s then-Governor Sisloak. Prior to that, growing up as a teenager in Lebanon, he had trained and taken up arms to defend his country! Then he moved to America and has had a storied career in the medical device field, before becoming a venture capitalist. Truly the personification of the American dream. Here’s his official bio:
Mr. Nohra is a Life Sciences investment veteran with more than 30 years of experience. Among Silicon Valley’s most successful venture capitalists in Biotech, Guy was named to Forbes’ Midas List in 2007.
As one of the four original founders of Alta Partners, Mr. Nohra was intimately involved with raising eight venture capital funds, leading to over $2bn of investments in private and public companies. Through Mr. Nohra’s guidance, Alta Partners has consistently ranked among the firms with the highest number of M&A or IPO exits in the life sciences industry. Alta Partners has had over 30 successful exits during the past five years, including 12 exits (10 IPOs and 2 acquisitions) in 2014. In 2013 and 2014, CB Insights ranked Alta Partners as one of the top three life science Venture Capital firms worldwide, considering factors such as value creation, past performance, network strength, selection aptitude, and brand. The firm has historically had more life sciences IPOs out of its portfolio since 1996 than any other Venture Capital firm worldwide, including 12 IPOs in 2000 and a 10 IPOs in 2004.
Mr. Nohra was involved in the funding and development of notable medical technology and life science companies including AcelRx, ATS Medical, Cutera, Innerdyne, R2 Technology, deCODE genetics, and Vesica.
Mr. Nohra serves on the Board of Directors of several companies, including Bioventus, Bionure, Sanifit and Spiral. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Medical Device Manufacturing Association (MDMA) from 2003 to 2013 and is now a Board Member Emeritus. He was also Chairman of the Board of ZS Pharma prior to its sale to Astra Zeneca for $2.7 billion. Mr. Nohra served as President of the Leukemia, Lymphoma Society of Silicon Valley for three terms. He was on the Board of Trustees of the Woodside Priory School for two terms ( 2009 to 2015). He was a member of the Stanford Athletic Board from 2006 to 2011.
Mr. Nohra holds a Bachelor’s degree in History from Stanford University (Palo Alto, California, 1978-1982) and completed a MBA from University of Chicago GSB Booth (Chicago, 1987-1989).

Don't Shrink Back Ep. 7, Peter Demos, "On the Duty of Christian Civil Disobedience"
My guest, Peter Demos, is a Christian, family man, successful business owner, speaker, and author. His latest book "On the City of Christian Civlil Disobedience" is worth a read. How should christians reposed to cultural changes we are concerned about? How important is voting, staying involved? Prayer is great, but what ELSE should we be doing?
Here's his bio: Peter Demos entered the family restaurant business at age 12 when he started working as a dishwasher in his dad’s Western Sizzlin’ restaurant. From there, his experience in the food industry and serving others gradually grew under the tutelage of his father, who imparted to Peter many aspects of what it takes to run a successful business.
After graduating from high school, Peter earned a B.S. in Sociology from Middle Tennessee State University before studying law at the University of Missouri. He went on to earn his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree, during which he discovered that he could better fulfill his passion for helping people in the food industry.
In 1999, Peter returned to his parents’ family restaurant, Demos’ Restaurant, with the single goal of growing the organization. His experience as a restauranteur grew, and he was given the position of chairman on the Board of Directors for the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce and president of the Tennessee Hospitality Association. Currently, he is the president and CEO of Demos’ Brands and Demos Family Kitchen, owning six restaurant locations across middle Tennessee, including PDK Southern Kitchen and Pantry, and multiple other businesses.
Peter is a highly sought-after leadership source expert and speaker on business, leadership and faith. His latest professional pursuit is the release of his compelling debut book detailing his journey from fear-filled to fearless, “Afraid to Trust.” He has been featured in numerous mainstream and faith-based publications including "The Washington Examiner," "Townhall," "The American Spectator" and "Christian Post." In addition, Peter also serves as an adjunct professor at Lipscomb University where he teaches a class on leadership and management.
Today, Peter and his wife Kristin work closely together in both business and ministry. They are now teaching their two children to also serve God with their lives.

Don't Shrink Back! Ep. 6: Tamara Lich, "Canadian Freedom Convoy" founder
Tamara Lich personifies courage. She was one of the founders of the Freedom Convoy, when the truckers in Canada, fed up with government overreach and tyranny, formed a convoy and shut down the City of Ottawa, Canada. They sent a powerful message to the tyrants.
She was overwhelmed with the support she and the convoy received from Canadians from all walks of life, who felt the same way, in light of the Covid lockdowns and mandates.
She joined me to discuss what she went through, the legal troubles she still faces, and her new book, "Hold The Line". Highly recommend!

Don't Shrink Back! Ep. 4. Bri Dressen, Astra-Zeneca trial volunteer
Bri Dressen is a brave woman, who, wanting to do her part to end the Covid pandemic, signed up to participate in a trial of the Astra Zeneca “vaccine”.
The horror stories about that particular shot are legion, but at the time, trial participants weren’t made aware of what the manufacturers already KNEW.
That ONE shot was enough to change her life forever. She and some other vaccine injured people have formed a group called React19, to help other vaccine injure people by providing community, assistance, and emotional support.
She’s a hero in my book.

Don't Shrink Back! Episode 1! Guest, Dr. Kelly Victory MD
Don't Shrink Back is a new video and podcast series that celebrates COURAGE. Moral courage, spiritual courage, cultural courage. It seems to be in short supply in so many areas these days but WE will be highlighting those who are willing to stand up and stand against tyranny and societal pressure. The correct stance is rarely the most popular one.
"I have always been of the opinion that unpopularity earned by doing what is right is not unpopularity at all, but glory." Marcus Tullius Cicero
My first guest is Dr. Kelly Victory, MD, who has bravely pushed back against the Covid narrative thrust upon us by the CDC, Big Pharma, and doctors who should have known better but chose to remain silent. If you'd like to suggest a hero for a future episode, email us at heidi@dontshrinkback.com.
Dr. Victory's bio:
Dr. Kelly Victory is a residency-trained trauma and emergency specialist with over 30 years of clinical experience.
