In this episode of Wandering Wagners we visited Deer Creek State Park for the FIRST time and broke some rules! We also had our first taste of Fall weather and started a minor grass fire. We met up with our friends Matt and Debbie in their @jayco Seneca Super C RV with our @NeXusRV Wraith 34W. They weren't calling for rain, but just cooler temps and higher winds but that didn't keep mother nature from raining on us! haha Luckily the storms were short lived and we were able to have a nice time outside and even got to ride our @LectriceBikes Lites! We rode the entire park and even rode our bikes on the Storybook Trail made for walking with kids... oops haha I guess I'm a Rule Breaker! We tried to go hiking but they had a disc golf tournament going on, on the hiking trail. Lynn made some S'mores treats and come foil pack dinners and they were both so good and super simple to make to be sure to give them a try! In this episode of Wandering Wagners we traveled to a park we've visited twice before and found it to be BORING but decided to give it another chance. Indian Lake State Park in Lakeview, Ohio doesn't have a ton of things we enjoy, like hiking, but the campground is large and would be great for riding bikes. There is a lake but we don't boat and they tend to always have algae problems and seaweed that tangles up boat props, but if you want to fish you could certainly do that. They have 1 trail here that is pretty short (1 mile) and very easy and flat. One thing they do have is an archery range! I've been wanting to get out there and do more archery so that's one of the main reasons we decided to re-visit this state park. The archery range is pretty far from the campground so you'll need to drive 10 miles around the lake to get to the range. It's right behind big recycling station which was weird to me but they had nice targets and plenty of space for everyone. I was able to give it a go with archery and really did better than I thought i would do since I haven't practiced in months. Weather was nice and hot and it definitely was an "Indian Summer"! Overall it was a nice stay and we are happy we gave this park a (third) chance, even though it can be VERY crowded/busy and not much to do, we are happy we returned and it changed our minds on this park somewhat. In this episode of Wandering Wagners we do some RV Maintenance, like oil change and teach you how to properly inflate your RV tires to the correct pressures, along with tank cleaning. We did some Upgrades with our Air ride seat and their seatbelts, and Lynn tries to get some Redemption and backs into the SAME campsite where she got our Nexus Super C RV STUCK over the Winter. We start by doing a basic oil change on our Cummins 6.7l engine in our 2020 Nexus Wraith 34W Super C Motorhome. @NeXusRV @cummins @Internationaltruck We used this oil filter wrench to get the oil filter off: https://amzn.to/45fnlCg Next we share with you how we check and inflate our @continentaltire on our RV to the 'correct' pressure, although we kept ours slightly higher than the chart says. We first weighed our setup at the @CATScaleCompany to get the weights from all of the axels, then divide it by number of tires and go from there! Next we did an upgrade to our @seatsincorporated5503 Air Ride Legacy seats and added the seatbelt tethers and removed the ones that came from Nexus RV. We let ours sit a few days just because we didn't end up leaving when we thought we would haha Either way they are super clean now! We then went to @OhioStateParks Van Buren State Park in Van Buren, OH. This was a park where Lynn got the RV STUCK last Winter when she was by herself and had to get the RV pulled out by the State Park Staff. In this episode of Wandering Wagners we traveled to a new campground with our friends @FollowingtheFitchs and visited Mt. Gilead KOA @koacampgrounds ! This park was pretty nice and fairly new. They have a lot of land and plenty of sites. They have a 3 mile hiking trail, pool, big camp store with food and a bar on site! We did a lot of hanging out and enjoying our friends company here. We ended up staying into the weekday and went to the pool when it was a lot less busy, because it was crowded during the weekend. We had a great time even though it took Mike an hour to get into the "cold" pool haha Next we went to Alum Creek State Park @OhioStateParks because Mike had some training in Columbus, OH so Lynn was able to work from the Super C RV for a few days, which was pretty nice. In this episode of Wandering Wagners we finally arrived back at our home base in Ohio from our Western travels where we had to do the task of picking the garden, and of course washing the 4,200+ miles off the Nexus Wraith Super C RV and JL Jeep Wrangler! Granted the Jeep did get a wash in Dillon Montana but it was still just as bad as the Wraith! This is the Dirtiest its ever been! Next we showed how well it works on the chrome mirror back. We love this stuff! We have since bought more! After the Jeep was finished we moved it out of the way so we could scrub the awning. This cleaner made quick work of the filthy awning and of course it had to RAIN on us! Once the rain cleared up we were able to finish up the rest of the RV Wash and get it parked inside the garage. In this episode of Wandering Wagners we traveled to Madrid Iowa to Ledges State Park! This park was suggested to us a few years back so we decided to make sure we visited when we were in Iowa next. This park requires you to reserve a site at least 2 days prior to your arrival and since we travel never knowing how long we will stay places, we didn't reserve a site here. Instead we waited until we arrived and had to do a self check in for same day arrivals, and we lucked out! They actually had 1 pull-thru full hook up site left so we snagged it. Perfect for our @NeXusRV Wraith and Jeep! We were able to walk at least 5 miles each day between hiking the trails and walking the campground itself. This park has a lot of rock ledges, where it gets its name from, and instead of driving over a bridge over water, you get to drive through it, which was really fun! Walking the river with the dogs was really fun and brought back great memories from Idaho. When we were hiking we got caught in the rain! Go figure haha always getting wet with us! Then Mike drove though the river with the @Jeep and pelted Lynn with water again! Wet and Wild here at Ledges State Park! @iowadnrLater we had lunch at the Colorado Grill in Boone, IA. It was great and Mike didn't get a burger! haha We finished up this video with a bikini campfire because it got so hot and humid! It was perfect attire. However, Lynn had trouble using Mike's @BenchmadeKnifeCompany to cut open the firewood bundle and then couldn't start the torch! ugh! Great memories though! In this episode of Wandering Wagners we travel from Quartz Flat to a @LovesTravelStops in Hardin, Montana for the night then went to the Hardin @koacampgrounds to dump and refill our fresh water. This is always a great option because it is only $10 to dump and refill with potable water at most campgrounds. Then we arrived at our next destination, Red Shale Campground in the Custer National Forest in Ashland, MT. This is all first come first serve and FREE and you can stay for 14 days max. We chose site 2 and Loved the beautiful scenery! It was unloved but we made it work. It is all dry camping so we put our @RICHSOLARTALK panels and our @BLUETTIOfficial Solar panels and power stations along with our @Redodopower LiFePo4 Battery to good use yet again! The downfall here was all of the yellow jacket wasps! They were everywhere and loved to swarm around you. Luckily we aren't allergic because we all ended up getting stung, everyone except Guy! Later we traveled back to Mitchell South Dakota where we stayed at the Mitchell @koacampgrounds KOA. We really wanted to get full hook ups to do laundry and Mike really wanted to have a site that was power since we've been doing so much dry camping lately. We did some re-stocking at @Walmart which was great because this Walmart allows overnight parking which is awesome! Unlike the @CabelasHunting store here in Mitchell! In this episode of Wandering Wagners we traveled back into Montana to Lolo National Forest to the Quartz Flat Campground in Superior, Montana. This park is unique because you have to exit into a Rest Area to access this park. It almost makes you wonder if it's a rest area or a campground! Once you enter, it quickly turns into a very scenic campground, half of which is on the South side of the interstate and the other half is on the North side. To get to the North side you have to go UNDER the interstate via a one way tunnel! This was crazy! We weren't sure our Nexus Wraith Super C RV would fit because of the curvature, but we did and it was pretty awesome. The entire campground is dry, so there's no power, but they do have dump stations and fresh water spigots, but no bathrooms. We were able to do a trail hike here that was much better than we expected. Yes you can hear road noise but it wasn't over powering and we slept great. In this episode of Wandering Wagners we continued our boondocking stay in Sandpoint Idaho and we also discovered a potential RV Tire Issue on our @NeXusRV Wraith 34W Super C RV. We are at Lynn's brothers property in @SandpointIdaho Sandpoint, ID with some family, we are boondocking in a back field/clearing with plenty of solar for our @RICHSOLARTALK and @BLUETTIOfficial portable solar panels and made good use of our Bluetti Power Stations as well! We explored downtown Sandpoint with the topless @Jeep got awesome burgers at the Burger Dock! We did some shopping so we could get a shirt and looked at some bikinis too. We drove up Schweitzer Mountain @SchweitzerID The views are amazing at the top and you can ride the chair lift up/down, hike, or mountain bike! Mike was injured so we didn't hike like we normally would have. Went blueberry picking at Shingle Mill Blueberry Farm and LOVED it! The Liberty breed was my favorite. They encourage you to eat while you pick which was one of my favorite parts. Highly recommend! Next we enjoyed a Beach Day at the Sandpoint City Beach! The water was so clean and clear, Mike says it was freezing but he says that about all water unless it's a hot tub haha! The views at the beach were amazing with the mountains in the background. Everyone had a great time! Lynn then made some philly cheese steaks with the biggest onion i've ever seen and seasoned to perfection with my favorite seasoning; @grillaholics6290 I made them for everyone using my sisters @BlackstoneGriddles ! This was the first time i've actually used the blackstone and it worked great, especially when i was cooking for a large amount of people. Mike said they were my best work yet! After we were here for over 7 nights we decided it was time to say goodbye and move on so we don't wear out our welcome at my brothers place. Before we left though, Mike noticed weird tire wear on the front steer tires so he decided to swap them and see if it wears weird on the other tire as well. We are hoping they are just junk tires and not something wrong with the front end of the motorhome! Luckily, Mike always comes prepared and he used his @MilwaukeeTool impact to remove and retorque the lug nuts! Now we wait and see how the tires fare. In this episode of Wandering Wagners we show how we added @BLUETTIOfficial portable solar panels to our solar setup and how we use them to charge our RV battery WITH the@RICHSOLARTALK roof mounted solar panels! We added another @VictronEnergyBV MPPT with some quick connects so we can connect our two 200Watt solar panels together. This will help us better utilize the power of the sun! Next we borrowed a @DieselLaptops to update the @NeXusRV Wraith Super C RV speedometer to 80MPH! Chances are we won't really go that fast but it's nice to have it there if we need it! Very awesome tool and so much power to wield haha Next we do another RV Wash but a little different this time. We used @saltsgone2785 because we wanted to test to see if we get less water spots because we fell like the Salts Gone actually cleans better than the soap does! In this episode of Wandering Wagners we return to one of our all time favorite RV Resorts, Edge O Dells RV Campground Resort in Wisconsin Dells, WI. This resort is 21+ only and yes they card you at the office and you get an arm band to wear. We have been coming here for 8 years and it is still one of our favorite resorts to visit! They have an on site restaurant, bar, store, tiki bar area, hot tub, and pool, plus DJ's and Live bands for entertainment on the weekends! What's not to love? While here we visited some of our favorite local restaurants like @moosejawpizzadellsbrewingc2586 and Rivers Edge Pub, along with eating and having a few drinks at the campground Edge O Dells Bar & Restaurant. Lynn also made Mike a frozen pie and it was so good and so easy to make that you should try it for your next summer camping trip. In this episode of Wandering Wagners we give an update on our @MasterSpas Hot tub and travel to a new @OhioStateParks campground, Great Seal State Park! We start off this video showing a cleaning and refilling of our HL630 Master Spas how tub that we have in our garage. Luckily it's easier to clean it than it is to wait for it to re-fill! We have had this hot tub for 1.5 years already and we have no regrets on buying it! It has been great and we can use it in all weather conditions because it's inside out garage. 2 thumbs up! Next we traveled to Chillicothe Ohio to a new to us State Park campground, Great Seal State Park. This park has a small campground that is all non-electric and mostly dry. They do have a water full station, but no flush toilets and no showers, and no dump station. They have a mix between equestrian and non-equestrian campsites that are all pretty large! This park is known for great trails for hiking, bridle, and biking. We used our solar again and it worked great for the entire weekend even though we started out with our @Redodopower Battery was only at 38% when we started! We supplemented with our @BLUETTIOfficial Portable power stations and portable solar panels. We were able to share info using the @VictronEnergyBV app where the solar system talks to each other. They worked great and so happy we have the option to do more dry camping and boondocking. Lynn also made some tasty chicken with a new @grillaholics6290 seasoning, Herbalicious! it was very tasty. In this episode of Wandering Wagners we talk about a hot topic of RV tires, then travel to another Ohio state park @OhioStateParks Van Buren State Park, where we hike, relax, reminisce, and Lynn made home made corn dogs! RV tires are always a hot topic and the internet would have everyone believe that they need to bed changed every 5 years regardless of how they actually look. Our @NeXusRV is built on an @Internationaltruck chassis so the tires are built for more miles than a RV camper trailer. In addition we store our RV indoors so that helps keep them good for longer time. When ours need replaced we will go with tires that are drives and steers vs all position but until that time comes we will continue to run our @continentaltire which have proven to be much better than we expected! We have visited Van Buren state park before but it's one of our favorites because it's smaller, quiet, and has decent trails. Lynn decided to make some corn dogs this trip and they turned out great! In this episode of Wandering Wagners we travel to Orange Beach, Alabama and stay at @buenavistamotorcoachresort244 our first Luxury RV Resort, and it a Motor Coach Resort at that so only Class A motorhomes and Super C RV motorhomes are allowed to stay here, and they need to be at least 32 feet in length. Luckily our @NeXusRV Wraith 34W Super C RV met the requirements. I cost us around $200/night and these sites are owned and then rented out by the resort per the owners schedule. We had site 11 and we really loved it! This park is right across the street from private access to the Gulf beach and it was so easy to access and the beach was gorgeous with white sugar sand. This park is also close to Alabama Gulf Shores State Park and we took the dogs on a few hikes here. There are plenty of places to eat, drink, shop etc all within walking, bike or car distance. We did a lot of @Jeep Top off rides because the weather was really beautiful while we were here. We ate at FloraBama Restaurant and the Tiniest @hooters in the country, to name a few. The park itself is off the charts NICE! Well kept and groomed, with a lazy river, water slide, pools, indoor pool and indoor hot tub. All of which we enjoyed very much! We splurged on this Luxury RV Resort but we have no regrets and would definitely come and stay here again in the future. In this episode of Wandering Wagners we get on the road and head South where we experienced water issues with our Anderson Kantleak Valve. We overnighted at @Walmart in Tennessee and we did a little shopping while we were there. No need for a generator since we have our 410Ah @Redodopower LiFePo battery that carried us flawlessly all night long. We got back on the road and landed at Reed Bingham State Park in Adel, Georgia. This was the first Georgia State Park and we really thought it was beautiful! We scored a full hook up site somehow and luckily Mike was able to make a bypass out of materials like Pex and @SharkBitePlumbing and @MilwaukeeTool Pex cutters to get the water back on in a temporary mod in our @NeXusRV Nexus Wraith 34W Super C RV. We went on a few walks and the bugs loved us haha we showcased a few of the amazing campsites here at Reed Bingham State Park Campground. We went on a @Jeep ride with the dogs and had a great campfire where I made some pizza pies over the fire. In this episode of Wandering Wagners we traveled to Malabar Farm State Park I'm Lucas, Ohio to dry camp and put our @RICHSOLARTALK solar panels and our @Redodopower 410Ah LiFePo battery, and @VictronEnergyBV controller to the test to see if we could camp regularly without any power or generator on our 2020 Nexus Wraith 34W Super C RV! We ended up being the only ones camping here during our stay and the weather was quite sunny and warm most of the trip which was unexpected and amazing! We camped exactly the same as we would, minus the convection microwave as our inverter cannot run it (and yes that's on our list of things to upgrade haha) Overall it was a success and we got to explore the park and buy more maple syrup that is made at the farm! In this episode of Wandering Wagners we traveled to our old home park of East Harbor State Park in Marblehead, Ohio. But, DON'T do what we did during a hail storm! We weather was all over the place on this trip (go figure). We were able to get in a few walks and bike rides on our @LectriceBikes Lites and test out their water resistance aspects when we got caught in the rain when we were miles away from the @NeXusRV Wraith Super C RV. We thought we broke the awning because we were standing under it watching the hail fall in amazement. Once the storm passed we tried a few times but the awning was too heavy with hail to roll in, and we thought it was a goner (ROOKIE MISTAKE we know). Always put your awnings in! haha Do as we say, not as we do. Once the sun came back out and melted the hail it was finally able to get rolled back in, and the wire cover that fell off was able to be restored. PHEW! That was a close one. In this episode of Wandering Wagners we debut the @LectriceBikes Lectric XP Lite! We have had the Lectric 2.0, 3.0, XPremium, and now the Lites. They all have their own benefits but in this video we try to compare them to the others we've had to help you know which one might be best suited for you. Overall we had a LOT of fun riding these bikes because they reminded us of the bikes we had when we were kids. No gearing, smaller in size and weight (46lbs) more similar to a regular bike we had when we were younger. They still have some decent power and distance capabilities but both were noticeably less than the bigger Lectric Ebikes which is to be expected. In this episode of Wandering Wagners we bought an Exact Center Steering Stabilizer for our @Jeep Wrangler that is made by @RoadmasterTowing and purchased from @etrailer with hopes that would be helpful with the sometimes hard to control JL steering, and it promises to let you backup your toad vehicle while still hooked up to your motorhome and it would keep the tires straight, so the tow bar wouldn't bind and break, allowing you to backup without having to unhook and re-hook the Jeep. We had high hopes from the get go which were soon dashed. The instructions were not great and even said no drilling required. However, one of the first steps is to DRILL a 7/16" hole. We had to remove the passenger tire to get a clear shot of where the hole needed to be as well. Once it was installed we took it out and it pulled to the left pretty hard. Following the directions, for adjustments, we found that it was backwards and every adjustment made, only made it worse until we did the opposite of what it says to do. Many adjustments later, we called it good enough, and Lynn drove it for a week to see what she thought. We also show how we hook up our Jeep behind our @NeXusRV Wraith 34W Super C motorhome, because we have been asked to show how we do this in a little more detail. We have a @RoadmasterTowing base plate and tow bar set up which has been great without issues for almost 3 years now. For the braking system we have a @blueoxproducts7937 Patriot II system so we can take it between our different vehicles. The steering stabilizer worked well when backing up the RV as advertised, but regular daily driving with it on made it difficult to steer. It was a heavier wheel and more difficult to turn and make minor corrections. Thought it did handle better in a strong cross wind and when passing/changing lanes it made the Jeep more stable feeling. Other than that, it was more difficult to both Mike and Lynn. We remove it after a week to see if we missed it, and the answer was no enough to put it back on. While it works good for backing up, especially if you RV alone, the rest of the driving was annoyingly hard to control. Especially for the high price tag! In this episode of Wandering Wagners we went RVing in Wild Weather and encountered a Tornado Warning, Wind, Rain and A Trail Race at Alum Creek State Park in Lewis Center, Ohio. This is an Ohio State Park near Columbus, OH. @OhioStateParks We arrived in rain, but it stopped long enough so we could grill burgers and show our @GrillwithWeber https://amzn.to/3zNrCQ9 Q1200 and new 4.5lb propane tank from @campingworld and made some patty melts! Amazon link: https://amzn.to/3msuhvx We were camping with some friends and family because Lynn signed up to run a trail half marathon race, and her sisters were going to run the 5k trail race. Of course the weather wouldn't play nice and we had a Tornado Warning the night before our race! It kept us up for about an hour because the sirens kept sounding every few minutes. The tornados and really bad weather was North of us and we were watching the local weather and the warnings were further North of us luckily! The day of the trail half marathon (13.1 miles) arrived to very high winds, and it even rained during the race, it had been raining so much lately the the course was SO muddy and slippery! Very challenging because of the MUD! Lynn decided to run this race in her @Keenfootwear hiking boots instead of her @altrarunning trail running shoes. Luckily the boots kept her feet dry which was amazing! I finished and celebrated a muddy victory with a beer at the finish line with Mike, Matt and Debbie cheering Lynn on! Then it was on to (a well earned shower) and a meal at @Roosterswings which are some of our favorite wings! Mike decided to get back into @Jeep life and recently bought a 2004 TJ Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, 2 door, soft top, stick shift! It is clean without rust and Mike is very happy to have found this gem! We are back to being a 2 Jeep household and couldn't be happier! Mike added a USB/C charger port and air gauge into the cab of our @NeXusRV Wraith Super C RV. We then traveled to Maumee Bay State Park to endure the wind and rain! We were joined my one of Lynn's sisters and her family, Lesta and Nate Walters and their two kids in their new to them Class A motorhome RV! It's a 2021 Fleetwood Bounder and this model has bunks AND 2 FULL bathrooms! The following day we were able to take the dogs on a nice walk around the park as the weather had finally settled down for a day. We can't wait for next trip! In this episode of Wandering Wagners we didn't get what we expected when we visited Harrison Lake State Park in Fayette, Ohio We decided to visit here because they were supposed to get dumped on with a foot of snow and since we have had a disappointing Winter this year, we decided to chase the storm and go to where it was going to snow. Well, that didn't work out! We only got a dusting and ice on top UGH! We can't win this year! We had a great time regardless, because we were the only ones here! We've had a very wet and rainy Winter so the dam here was gushing with waters so that was beautiful and like a big waterfall. We were walking the dogs and someone was there with their dog NOT on a leash! That is a huge pet peeve for us and of course it ran up on us and the dogs so we had to stop and put ourselves between us and the untethered dog. Luckily there was no attack.
