The Undead Dungeon was offered between May 12, 2024 through May 19, 2024. This video shows the completion of the Undead Dungeon for May 2024. Each dungeon lasts one (1) week and consists of three (3) levels which must be completed as a gauntlet. No swapping of leaders or troops is allowed and must be completed by a leader of the faction of the week. Completing the dungeon allows for Army Upgrades which allows certain minis in certain spots to gain up to three (3) levels. Warcraft Rumble was released on November 3, 2023. Based on the World of Warcraft cast of characters, Warcraft Rumble is a miniature 4X game where each round lasts no more than four (4) minutes. This game is designed to be played on a mobile device and does require an internet connection, although it does run quite well in an emulated mode on a personal computer. Bucking the trend of most mobile games, Warcraft Rumble has NO ADVERTISING! We appreciate this trend by Blizzard. That said, they do have a store for micro-transactions. After all, the bills need to be paid somehow. We'd rather have a store than the constant barrage of annoying, intrusive and data-sucking advertisements.

35 Fila-Mint seeds are awarded for completing this event consisting of five (5) levels. Plant of the Week - Fila-Mint - was offered between May 12, 2024 through May 19, 2024. Fila-Mint is a member of the Fila-Mint family. mint. Fila-Mint costs 0 Sun. Fila-Mint does 150 damage to each zombie on the lawn. (+150 damage per level.) Fila-Mint's bolts will bounce two times. (+1 bounce at levels 4 and 7.) Each bounce only does 50% damage. (+25% on levels 5 and 8.) Fila-Mint plants will be boosted for six (6) seconds. (+1 second per level.) Commentary: Fila-Mint doesn't sound all that impressive. The damage is fairly weak and Fila-Mint feels more like a softener than a zombie eliminator. But that's only at lower levels. Once Fila-Mint levels up, the damage becomes respectable and if there are a lot of zombies on the lawn when Fila-Mine is planted, there is a good chance most, if not all, of the zombies will be eliminated. Isn't that what we want from our mints? Bottom Line: It's not a sexy mint. It's not a tier 1 mint. This mint won't wow anyone with its effects when first obtained. However, on those levels where Fila-Mint plants are required or where other plants are banned, Fila-Mint and its family of plants make for a solid backup plan.

Farm Matching Animal Parking is a game where the player needs to clear out animal pens by guiding the animals by enticing them to move forwards or backwards. In essence, this is a parking lot game but with animals instead of vehicles. This game has no objectionable material. Well, at least that any reasonable person would find objectionable. What are the pros and cons of this game? Pros: Young children can play this game. We've encountered some mini-games which break the routine. Nothing difficult, but it is there. Cons: While the advertisements are not intrusive or mandatory, young children may activate viewing of ads "accidentally" when these windows pop up between levels. The game changes the color of the animals to increase the difficulty. While in of itself, this is not a con, the color changes are quite subtle and those individuals who have problems discerning shades can get frustrated and may fail the level because of this. Distinct colors would be preferable. Even switching colors to make things more distinct. The game introduces a time-element in which one must clear the level. This can be frustrating. While so far the time has not been a factor, it can be on some of the longer levels, especially if one is distracted by real life. What's the bottom line? This is a not a bad change of pace game. It's a standard parking lot game. Children may have fun with the animals and some of their animations. Bottom line - this game is OK.

Traffic Jam Cars Puzzle Legend is a combination Match 3 game with a nice dash of Parking Lot games where the player needs to clear the cars from a full and mixed up parking lot. How difficult is this game? So far, this appears to be a game meant for the majority of people. We've not encountered any serious difficulties. But then, we are still in the adventure / extended tutorial stage. What about advertising? Sadly, these appear. But that's the sad reality these days. Not many people want to do micro-transactions and a game like this appears to be more filler than a commitment game. Any objectionable material? The Policewoman and the Nurse are attractive and portrayed in an appealing manner. They are not depicted as showing any skin or in any sexual manner; however some may view their depiction in a negative light or reinforcing negative female stereotypes. What are the Pros and Cons? Pros: A nice twist on Match 3 games, adding a parking car element to the game. Nice power-ups. Decent challenges. Cons: Levels get a little challenging a little too quick. Should not be a problem for adults but children could get frustrated. Music can get repetitive. Too many requests for purchases. Bottom line: If you are a fan of puzzle games, this is a nice one to add to your collection.

What is Water Sort 2023? Water Sort 2023 is a puzzle game where the player needs to combine colored liquids (or balls) until the entire test tube (or bottle) is completely filled up. Review of the game? This is your typical Water/Ball sorting game. The graphics are OK. The music is OK. There are times though when the colors tend to be too close which can cause confusion. We would prefer more contrast so these near shades are not mistaken for the other. What about advertisements? When connected to the Internet, an advertisement will appear every 3 or so levels. This game uses a cloud save feature over local storage. So if you enter airplane mode to play, remember to connect before you close out the game to keep your progress. Any objectionable material? We have not found any objectionable material in this game. We haven't even found anything remotely close to objectionable.

Heroic Missions are unlocked once the player has completed the requisite fifty (50) levels in adventure mode - through Tier 10 Map 5. In order to clear each Heroic Mission, each boss must be defeated by a leader from each faction. In other words, five (5) separate defeats. This is made more difficult as the mini levels for each boss is increased by ten (10), in addition to other unique effects that these bosses have. Adventure Capitalist is the 1st idle clicker game from Hyper Hippo. This game takes the idle clicker concept with the goal of making as much money as possible. This video shows the progress from 30 to 41 Angel Investors. Each angel gives an additional 2% profit but you need to restart everything. Sounds annoying but with this boost, you catch up real quick. You can start to see it here, especially if you compare this to the original start of the game. As you would expect from a mobile game, there is advertising and micro-transactions. However, none of these were forced - just optional.

What is Emoji Guess Challenge? Emoji Guess Challenge is a game where a word is given and the player complete the word using the supplied emojis. It makes more sense once you have done a level or two. Is there any objectionable material? This game has no objectionable material. At least that any reasonable person would find objectionable. What are the pros and cons of this game? Pros: Young children can play this game. People who are not thrilled about playing games but who can converse in emojis can have fun with this game. Cons: There is no soothing background music. That would have been nice. Some of these puzzles are puzzling. A skippable ad appears after every three (3) levels. What's the bottom line? Emoji puzzle games are definitely a change of pace from word games, puzzle games, Match 3 games and games based on some sort of violence. But that is all that it is. The ads break any kind of rhythm one can get into. Bottom line - this game is OK.

Unlike Angry Birds where the player launches birds using a giant sling, the player places explosives in strategic places and attempts to do as much damage as possible. ~~~~~ Is Boomland “Pay to Win”? What do you get for spending real world money? ~~~~~ We have not found any money transactions in this game. ~~~~~ Is there any objectionable material in Boomland? ~~~~~ If the player is comfortable with the idea of blowing stuff up, then nothing else in the game will be objectionable. ~~~~~ Is Boomland fun to play? Is the game challenging? Is this game a grind? ~~~~~ There are times when someone will have the desire to blow stuff up. There are times when someone wants a different kind of game to play. Boomland fits that description. Boomland can be challenging although we have found this game more frustrating than challenging. We do not mind learning and experimenting to clear a level. However when one is failing dozens of times, we believe the game may be frustrating. When we are failing dozens of times, we believe that the level is too difficult. ~~~~~ What about in-game advertisements? How many are there? How intrusive are they? Do you get anything for enduring them? ~~~~~~ We have not encountered any in-game advertisements. We applaud this game for that feature. ~~~~~ What are the pros and cons of this game? ~~~~~ Pros: A simple game to pick up and understand. The player gets to blow stuff up - sometimes sky high. Has background music. Cons: Very difficult game, especially in the early levels. While this game has a 3 level tutorial, this game could use a longer one to learn the nuances of the game. ~~~~~ Do you recommend this game? ~~~~~ If one played Angry Birds and got frustrated because one could not get the birds to do what was desired, this game eliminates that frustration. If one enjoys destruction-type games, this one will suffice. As far as children goes, we will leave that up to the parents. While we have found nothing beyond the obvious, it is that obvious that some parents may object to.

What does this video show? This video shows Word Connect for the levels listed in the title. What is Word Connect Pro? Word Connect Pro is a Cross-word lite game where a group of letters are given and the player needs to fill the puzzle using only those letters given. How to play The player drags the pointer across the letters to make a combination. If this combination is a word, the player will be rewarded. Review of the game? The music is relaxing. The concept is fine. This game is good for those people where English is their primary language. Some of these words may not be known to non-native English speakers. However the word list leaves much to be desired: Some words are not known to the game - like MAGE. Some words are known but their plural is not - GAME is acceptable and GAMES is not. Some words are accepted in some levels but not in others. The game considers SAGEM, GPS and DIY as words. They are not. (Sagem is the name of a French company and GPS is an acronym while DIY is shorthand for Do It Yourself.) So this game needs to reconsider its dictionary file. We used a Scrabble dictionary to find words which stumped us - and still got stumped. What about advertisements? When connected to the Internet, an advertisement will appear every 3 or so levels. This game uses a cloud save feature over local storage. So if you enter airplane mode to play, remember to connect before you close out the game to keep your progress. Any objectionable material? You have to really go deep to find anything objectionable in a word sorting game. Words like SHIFT can be rearranged to have a naughty word shown. While the word is not counted as an acceptable word, or even a bonus word, some parents would be bothered if their young child accidentally saw it. So what is the bottom line? Is this a worthwhile game? As word puzzle games go, this is not a bad game - but with the aforementioned caveats. Just be warned that this game may frustrate you at times.

Jewel Charms and clones like this are a Match-3 game. Players make matches of three (3) or more to complete objectives. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ How does this differ from the other Match 3 games out there? The graphics are pretty. Combos of 4 or more give power ups. There are other variants that make this game interesting. Jewel Charms and its clones appear to be more of a campaign type game with options - free, advertising and real money. We will progress through this game as needed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Any objectionable material? As with many games, there is an attractive woman who guides you. While not objectionable in itself, there are some individuals who would not appreciate the reinforcing of negative female stereotypes. We have discovered that Jewel Planet and its clones are indeed the same game with very minor differences. It appears that one copied/stole the game from the original author, re-branded the game and have released it under their banner. We find this practice disgusting; and we do not know who the original author is. We've actually found four (4) games under the "Jewel" name. All these games can be found in the Google Play store so Google hasn't discovered any is clone of the other.

The player is then embarked on a quest to rediscover cooking and spread this around the world, getting rich in the process. In the process, you hire heroes to gather ingredients and hire cooks to do the actual cooking while the player sells the delicious meals. ~~~~~ Is Cooking Quest Pay to Win? What about in-game advertisements? How many are there? How intrusive are they? Do you get anything for enduring them? ~~~~~ So far, we've encountered only one mandatory ad, mostly as a quest to show how it can be done. We suspect that watching these ads and/or paying money will speed things up and that one can play the full game as a free-to-play player. ~~~~~ Is There Any Objectionable Material in this game? ~~~~~ Heroes do defeat monsters using swords. This content is not central to the game and even watching this, this feels cartoony, seeing how the monsters are sugar cubes. Is this game a grind? ~~~~~ After 30 minutes, we feel we are just starting to learn the game. We like the idea of cooking being the main theme of a long quest game instead of just killing random monsters. We have not found this game to be challenging - yet. We suspect that may come later on. Graphics reminiscent of early console games. Feels like an old school computer game instead of an app. Cons: Cloud save preferred. Can get a bit boring. Lots of clicking. Bottom Line: This game will interest players who want a more deep experience than a match 3, jigsaw puzzle or Tetris-type of game. School-aged children can pick this game up and include it in their collection of games.

In of itself, there is nothing majorly wrong with this game. Sure, it could use music and different background skins but those are not deal-breakers. This game could do very well with children and teenagers if the game was geared towards their vocabulary level. Level 1's category was Medical Occupation. One of the answers is Pharmacist. While correct, this would frustrate a youngster who might be able to get the other clues. Mind you - this is level 1! Level 2 wasn't better. The bottom line is that we just think this is a lost opportunity.

We have a policy here of not using hints or power ups to clear a level. We want to show that the games and puzzles have solutions. When we need to use a hint on a puzzle game because we could not solve it - even with online dictionary assistance - we just do not think this game will be enjoyable to anyone outside of the dedicated crossword puzzle crowd.

Bzzz Button - was offered between May 5, 2024 through May 12, 2024. Bzzz Button is a member of the Fila-Mint family. Bzzz Button costs 50 Sun. When eaten, Bzzz Button electrifies the zombie which ate it. This will do 22 damage initially. (Increasing damage per level.) Electrified zombies will zot nearby zombies dealing 32 damage. This lightning will bounce to four (4) targets. (+1 every odd level.) Electrified zombies are slowed. When given plant food, Bzzz Button will explode dealing 100 damage. (Increasing damage per level.) Commentary: Bzzz Button is a cool idea. We like cool idea plants. We like plants that have multiple effects. Like many other plants which have multiple effects, Bzzz Button doesn't do anything well. It can slow zombies quite well. But slowed zombies still advance towards the house. Electrifying zombies is nice. But the damage is fairly low. At best this could be considered a softener. Giving Bzzz Button a plant food will only do a small fraction - around 10-20% - of what Cherry Bomb can do. This isn't exactly scream first pick, does it? Bottom Line: Bzzz Button is fairly inexpensive so it can be useful in the early game. Yet with so many early game options, we simply do not find many situations where Bzzz Button would be preferable over Chili Bean or Primal Potato Mine. Bzzz Button - was offered between May 5, 2024 through May 12, 2024. Bzzz Button is a member of the Fila-Mint family. Bzzz Button costs 50 Sun. When eaten, Bzzz Button electrifies the zombie which ate it. This will do 22 damage initially. (Increasing damage per level.) Electrified zombies will zot nearby zombies dealing 32 damage. This lightning will bounce to four (4) targets. (+1 every odd level.) Electrified zombies are slowed. When given plant food, Bzzz Button will explode dealing 100 damage. (Increasing damage per level.) Commentary: Bzzz Button is a cool idea. We like cool idea plants. We like plants that have multiple effects. Like many other plants which have multiple effects, Bzzz Button doesn't do anything well. It can slow zombies quite well. But slowed zombies still advance towards the house. Electrifying zombies is nice. But the damage is fairly low. At best this could be considered a softener. Giving Bzzz Button a plant food will only do a small fraction - around 10-20% - of what Cherry Bomb can do. This isn't exactly scream first pick, does it? Bottom Line: Bzzz Button is fairly inexpensive so it can be useful in the early game. Yet with so many early game options, we simply do not find many situations where Bzzz Button would be preferable over Chili Bean or Primal Potato Mine. +Timestamps 00:00 | Difficulty 3 = Meteor Flower + Kiwibeast = FAIL. So what you see is what players get. We also try to vary the strategies from week to week and showcasing different plants and strategies and ideas. Farm Matching Animal Parking is a game where the player needs to clear out animal pens by guiding the animals by enticing them to move forwards or backwards. In essence, this is a parking lot game but with animals instead of vehicles. This game has no objectionable material. Well, at least that any reasonable person would find objectionable. What are the pros and cons of this game? Pros: Young children can play this game. We've encountered some mini-games which break the routine. Nothing difficult, but it is there. Cons: While the advertisements are not intrusive or mandatory, young children may activate viewing of ads "accidentally" when these windows pop up between levels. The game changes the color of the animals to increase the difficulty. While in of itself, this is not a con, the color changes are quite subtle and those individuals who have problems discerning shades can get frustrated and may fail the level because of this. Distinct colors would be preferable. Even switching colors to make things more distinct. The game introduces a time-element in which one must clear the level. This can be frustrating. While so far the time has not been a factor, it can be on some of the longer levels, especially if one is distracted by real life. What's the bottom line? This is a not a bad change of pace game. It's a standard parking lot game. Children may have fun with the animals and some of their animations. Bottom line - this game is OK.

~~~~~ What is Connect? ~~~~~ Connect is a tile match puzzle game where the player removes like tiles that are adjacent to each other or can be reached by drawing an unobstructed path between the tiles. ~~~~~ Is Connect Pay to Win? What about in-game advertisements? How many are there? How intrusive are they? Do you get anything for enduring them? ~~~~~ We have not encountered any advertising or payment structure in this game. Games without those features are few and far between and we celebrate those games. One can pay $0.99 to remove the banner ads. One can pay $0.99 to unlock all tile skins. ~~~~~ Is There Any Objectionable Material in this game? ~~~~~ We're sure someone somewhere can find something objectionable with this game. We just can't find anything remotely objectionable. ~~~~~ Is Connect fun to play? Is the game challenging? Is this game a grind? ~~~~~ Connect is a good “change of pace” type of game. This is a game where can you play when you have a few minutes to kill. We wouldn't use the word “challenging”; but this game can get frustrating. We wouldn't use the word “grind”; but this game can get repetitive. ~~~~~ What are the pros and cons of Connect? ~~~~~ Pros: Easy to play. Young children can play this game. Simple mechanics. Generous number of reshuffles granted - eight (8). At most, only two (2) shuffles are needed to clear a level. Cons: No soothing background music. No music at all. Only two (2) tile skins are given. One can watch an advertisement to unlock another tile skin or pay $0.99 to unlock all skins. Bottom Line: This game could use some music. Apart from that, this is a great game to let young children play and add to their library.
