Not the Bees! They're Doing Just Fine
In this video, Heartland Institute Research Fellow Linnea Lueken looks at whether or not bees are threatened by climate change. Studies reveal that any issues they may have regionally are most likely unrelated to climate change.

Rethinking the Climate Change Consensus
Is there a scientific consensus that says we should be worried about a looming climate catastrophe? No. A majority of scientists may believe Earth’s climate is changing, but most are not all that alarmed.

Climate Trial of the Century: Mann vs Steyn
After 12 years of delays, the defamation lawsuit brought by climate scientist Michael Mann and writer Mark Steyn finally began this week. Mann sued Steyn and others in 2012 claiming they libeled him when they mocked his infamous “hockey stick” graph that has been the lynchpin of climate alarmism for decades. Steyn compared the cover-up of Mann’s shoddy science at his then-employer Penn State University to the way the school covered up the horrible sexual abuse crimes conducted by disgraced football coach Jerry Sandusky and then whitewashed an internal investigation.
Steyn, who gave one of the greatest keynotes ever at a Heartland climate conference about this case a while back (see below for a link), has been itching for this trial to finally happen since Obama was just starting his second term. It was Mann who employed one delaying tactic after another in an attempt to scare Steyn off.
Steyn never backs down from a fight, and is putting Mann’s hockey stick itself on trial. And, in a twist that will be either brilliant or disastrous, Steyn is acting as his own attorney in this civil suit.
In episode 94 of Climate Change Roundtable by The Heartland Institute, host Anthony Watts and panelists H. Sterling Burnett, Linnea Lueken, and Jim Lakely will get you caught up on the Climate Trial of the Century. After opening statements on Thursday, the jury trial in a DC court is expected to last as long as three weeks. This is the kind of coverage of this important trial you won’t find anywhere else.

Sultan Al Jaber vs Mary Robinson: A Climate Throw Down
Just as COP28, the UN's 2023 climate conference, was getting started, the conference host, Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, got into a bit of an argument with former UN Climate Envoy Mary Robinson. Mrs. Robinson — who is about as elite as it gets in global climate circles —was obviously not used to being challenged on her assumptions that fossil fuel use must end if the world is to meet its climate goals.
In the exchange, an interview facilitated by an organization "She Changes Climate," Al Jaber said he is not interested in any climate "alarmism," but follows the science. It's saved here for posterity, since Al Jaber has since "walked back" his statements, even though everything he said about climate and fossil fuels and who needs to sacrifice to save the planet is spot on.

Joe Biden Wants to Ban ALL Your Home Appliances
New rules from the Biden administration's Department of Energy will make most of the ordinary appliances in your home contraband. Thanks to useless, expensive, and unnecessary new energy efficiency standards, your washing machine will work harder and not get your clothes as clean, your dishwasher will not get your dishes as clean, and your refrigerator will not perform as you expect. And your gas stove? Hold on to it and find a good repairman. Those are on the outs, too.
The Biden administration says these new rules will save you money (it won't) and save the planet (it won't). This government sees absolutely no limits on its desire to run every aspect of our lives, no matter how small.
Here's the story I'm commenting on:

Climate Change Not to Blame for Canada's Wildfires
Meteorologist and Heartland Institute Senior Fellow Anthony Watts was on the Ingraham Angle on Fox News the other day to explain to her audience that the wildfires in Canada are perfectly normal, natural, and not made worse by climate change. In fact, the trend for wildfires across North America has been on the decline for more than a century.
Watts also explains how the U.S. government (NOAA) is juicing the temperature data to make it appear the earth is dangerously warming when, in fact, the weather stations are increasingly surrounded by urban heat islands. Bottom line: The U.S. temperature data is corrupt.

How to Talk About Climate Change with Your Brainwashed Niece
Every Earth Day, the media run annoying stories about how the young people of the world need to get the grown-ups in their lives educated about the climate and the need to take action. The world's youth have been brainwashed into believing that human activity is leading to a climate catastrophe, and we have to radically change our ways if we're going to save the planet.
Here's a better idea: Grown-ups can impart their knowledge and wisdom in the other direction. Doing all these "little things to save the planet" is not really going to amount to much, and is not the end goal of the climate cult, anyway. They have much bigger plans in mind.

Fact Checking AFP's Fake Climate Fact Check
AFP did a "fact check" on The Heartland Institute's Climate at a Glance book, which we mailed to 8,000 teachers across the country in February. Their fact checks are not actually fact checks. They are opinions and projections. That's because Climate at a Glance is based on the latest climate data, not garbage computer models and alarmism. The reason AFP had to "fact check" a book that was distributed two months ago is because it is obviously breaking the alarmist narrative ... and our media cannot let that happen.
Learn more at https://climateataglance.com/
And join us HERE every Friday at noon CT for the live broadcast of our Climate Change Roundtable show. We'll do a deeper fact check on that program.

John Kerry: Davos Elite Are Like "Extraterrestrials" Here to "Save the Planet"
Our global elite rulers don't just have delusions of grandeur and freedom-crushing plans to usher in a socialist utopia in which we all must live our lives as they demand and with no complaint. They also have insane delusions that they are almost like "extraterrestrials" who have come here to "save the planet." But ... it's not a cult. #WEF2023 #WEF #davos
Attend Heartland's 15th International Conference on Climate Change, Feb 23-25, 2023 in Orlando, Florida to get the counter-arguments to the insane drivel of the WEF and Davos elite. Humans are NOT causing a climate crisis, and the planet does not need socialism to save it.

Climate Crisis Potpourri
On this episode of Climate Change Roundtable, Anthony Watts, H. Sterling Burnett, and Linnea Lueken will cover a variety of topics. These include the energy shortage lump of coal Biden is trying to give us with his energy restrictions and plans, violation the law by not offering lease sales, helping Venezuela produce oil, which we will then import, how we're offering high cost offshore wind leases, thus killing whales in the process, and rising blackouts as demand on the grid become greater due to the push to electrify everything.
Plus, the panel looks into the AOC Megaflop documentary movie "To the End" that only earned 81 dollars per theater on opening weekend.
Finally, the Climate Change Roundtable crew will take your questions about anything climate or energy related. Join host Anthony Watts, Sterling Burnett, and Linnea Lueken for the last Climate Change Roundtable of 2022 at Noon CST, Friday, December 15th.

The Futility of Electric Vehicles
Advertisements for electric cars and trucks are EVERYWHERE now, but it seems that few people are looking at the real challenges of production, operation and ownership. A new study from Argonne National Laboratory in Chicago shows that the implementation of electric vehicles has had almost a negligible impact on the consumption of gasoline - amounting to about two days worth of gasoline consumption reduction in the last 10 years.
Essentially, electric vehicles have had negligible impact of the use of fossil fuels in transportation over the last decade. Meanwhile, there's a massive push to meet a "Net Zero" goal by 2050 by implementation of wind and solar technologies in the hope they will power the future of transportation.
In this episode of Climate Change Roundtable, Sterling Burnett, Linnea Lueken, and host Anthony Watts will discuss the futility of electric vehicles and the plan to power them in the future.

97% Consensus on Climate Change is a Myth
A new poll of scientists conducted by Fairleigh Dickinson University found that only 59 percent of respondents think global climate change will cause “significant harm” to the “living conditions for people alive today.” That is far short of the “97 percent consensus” narrative pushed by climate alarmists and their media allies across the globe.
The survey, conducted in September and October 2022 by Fairleigh Dickinson University and commissioned by The Heartland Institute, polled only professionals and academics who held at least a bachelor’s degree in the fields of meteorology, climatology, physics, geology, and hydrology.
The key question of the survey asked: “In your judgement, what will be the overall impact of global climate change on living conditions for people alive today, across the globe?” Fifty-nine percent said “significant harm.” Thirty-nine percent said either “significant improvement,” “slight improvement,” “no change,” or “slight harm.” Two percent were not sure.
Among respondents with the most experience – those at least 50-years-old – less than half expect significant harm for people alive today. Scientists 30-years-old and younger were the only age group for which more than 60 percent expect significant harm.

Politico Awards Putin Top Spot on Their Green 28 List
Politico just released their inaugural Green 28 list. This list is constructed to rank the 28 individuals with the most influence on the European Union's sustainability, environmental, mobility, climate and energy policies. Vladimir Putin was awarded the top spot on the list. Russia holds a stronghold on energy exports within Europe. Without looking at why this is the case, Politico gleefully agues that Russia's invasion of Ukraine will force a green revolution.
Andy Singer, Linnea Lueken, and Anthony Watts discuss the POLITICO Green 28 list on the newest episode of Climate Change Roundtable.

Energy Experts Sound the Alarm for America
Europe is in the midst of an energy crisis, and it goes past Russia's invasion of Ukraine. For years, leaders across Europe have decided to implement energy policies that signal their green virtue but fail to provide adequate amounts of energy. Now, they're paying the price.
America is headed down the same path. We're already seeing the effects Biden's policies have had on gas prices, but that's just the start. That's why energy experts are sounding the alarm.
On the most recent episode of Climate Change Roundtable, Andy Singer, Anthony Watts, and H. Sterling Burnett discuss the current situation in America as well as pay respects to the recently passed climate scientist Dr. Tim Ball.

Biden to Sign Climate Change Change Bill With Grave Implications
President Biden is expected to sign the poorly named Inflation Reduction Act today despite the fact he claimed the July's inflation rate was zero percent last week. Why sign the bill then? It's because the true purpose is sneaking in a laundry list of progressive policies under the name of reducing inflation.
The bill contains a record $369 billion in spending on climate and energy policies designed to lower carbon dioxide emissions. Essentially, this was a massive renewable energy bill.
Steve Milloy joins the Climate Change Roundtable crew to discuss why phasing coal out of the energy sector will lead to deaths across the country. This isn't a hypothetical. Blackouts in recent years already highlight the massive damage we should expect.
