Donald Trump panders to black community for votes
A Manhattan jury found Donald Trump guilty of all 34 counts of falsifying business records in his hush money criminal trial, an unprecedented and historic verdict that makes him the first former president in US history to be convicted of a felony.
Judge Juan Merchan set a sentencing hearing for July 11. Trump's sentence is up to the judge, and it could include prison time or probation.
Prosecutors accused Trump of taking part in an illegal conspiracy to undermine the integrity of the 2016 presidential election and an unlawful plan to suppress negative information, which included concealing a hush money payment to an adult film star.
A felony conviction of a former president or party frontrunner is unprecedented, but Trump, who is the 2024 presumptive GOP nominee, can still run for office.
Trump called the jury's decision a "disgrace" and said the "real verdict" will come during the presidential election on November 5. President Joe Biden said on social media that his 2024 rival can only be defeated at the ballot box.

StoryTime My First Racist Experience
In this video, I talk about my first races experience. This was a very brave video because I got vulnerable with my audience and discuss some thing that I normally don’t talk about.. this story is absolutely crazy and as a female from Africa, I never thought that I would say such disparities in the United States, however, in this video, I tell a play-by-play breakdown of my first ever races experience, and how I felt, especially with it, being in the healthcare industry and me being a female. This story is a little bit hard for me to tell however, I am allowing myself to be vulnerable and tell my story and hopefully you can change your life.

The Boys Are Fighting Is It Kylie
No one knows why the fight started.
Travis Scott and Tyga are two artists that don't really have much in common musically. However, they are both known for having extremely high profile relationships with Kylie Jenner. Tyga dated Jenner when she was a teenager. Meanwhile, Travis has two kids with Kylie and are currently co-parenting those children. Overall, Kylie has moved on from both of these men. She is now with Timothee Chalamet, and there are all sorts of rumors pertaining to what that relationship is like.
As for Travis and Tyga, it never really felt like there was any sort of beef between them. Although according to new footage coming out of Cannes, it would appear as though the two are actually at odds. In the grainy and dark footage below, you can see Travis and Tyga allegedly fighting one another. You can't really make out either artist, although according to sources like Hollywood Unlocked, this is, indeed, Travis and Tyga.

DaBaby and DaniLeigh Drama
On Sunday night, an argument between rapper DaBaby and the mother of his child, singer DaniLeigh, played out live on Instagram, with both parties livestreaming various parts of the fight. The incident, which involved DaBaby filming DaniLeigh as she bottle-fed their 3-month-old, seemed to revolve around the fact that DaBaby wanted her out of his Charlotte, North Carolina, apartment, where she says she has been living since their baby was born. The two have been rumored to be dating since March 2020. The following afternoon, TMZ reported that DaniLeigh had been charged with two counts of misdemeanor assault.
DaBaby, you may recall, has had a pretty controversial few months. In July, he faced major backlash from fans and other high-profile musicians after making homophobic comments onstage at Rolling Loud Miami. After posting and then deleting an apology on Instagram, he addressed the comments in person during his next live set a few weeks later, saying, “I never, ever meant to offend anybody or say anything to make anybody feel any type of way.” Although his so-called cancellation became a central tenet of Dave Chappelle’s own controversial set and the rollout of Ye’s new album, DaBaby has made a number of recent appearances, including onstage alongside alleged abuser Marilyn Manson at a Donda listening party. Two weeks ago, he returned to the Rolling Loud stage in New York when 50 Cent brought him on in what TMZ reports was a preapproved appearance.
This weekend’s argument led both DaBaby and DaniLeigh to post explanations to their Instagram Stories, though it’s still hard to work out exactly what happened. DaBaby, whose post popped up first, expressed his desire to “swiftly remove myself from any of the ‘hostile’ behavior put on display moments ago.” He wrote, “This here thing has gone far enough for shawty to crash out on her own and it saddens me because I still got a queen to raise” (presumably a reference to his daughter with DaniLeigh). He says he recorded their argument for his own safety and compared his predicament to Fatal Attraction, writing, “I done been beat on and yelled at and chased around like one if them fatal love attraction type girls.” He went on to promote his new tour before affirming, “I’m a father first always, and always will be.”

Nicki Minaj arrested on tour
Nicki Minaj was seemingly arrested in Amsterdam on Saturday (May 25) while on her way to perform a concert in the United Kingdom.
The “Super Bass” rapper captured the incident in an Instagram Live video that was later reposted by her fans on social media. In the clip, an Amsterdam official is heard saying he wants to take Minaj into custody for “carrying drugs,” despite her claim that she was not holding any contraband.
“I’m not going in there. I need a lawyer present,” Minaj, 41, replies to the authorities, who repeatedly ask her to step into a vehicle and stop recording.
Minaj was scheduled to perform at Manchester’s Co-Op Live on Saturday night as part of her Pink Friday 2 Tour. Another officer in the video is heard referencing the concert, saying officials would “try to get [her] there” as soon as possible.
Oh, so I’m under arrest?” she asks as the officials, who responds with, “Yes.” He didn’t offer any further explanation.
The clip ends with Minaj voluntarily getting into the police van.
It was not clear at press time if Minaj had been booked at a police station. A spokesperson for Royal Netherlands Marechaussee military police told TMZ that an American woman had been arrested for possessing “soft drugs,” but declined to identify the individual by name or the specific type of alleged drugs.
Billboard has reached out to Minaj’s representatives for comment.
The “Super Freaky Girl” rapper shared another video on Saturday that appears to be an airport official telling her that authorities need to search her bags.
“Now they said they found weed & that another group of ppl have to come here to weigh the pre-rolls,” Minaj wrote on X (formerly Twitter), later noting that her plane was being delayed a couple hours.
Keep in mind they took my bags without consent,” she added, pointing out that marijuana is legal in Amsterdam. “My security has already advised them those pre-rolls belong to him. Oh yea & the pilot wants me to take my ig post down.”
On Instagram, the rapper suggested that her Pink Friday 2 tour was being “sabotaged.” “They’ve been trying to stop me from coming to every show,” she wrote. “They took my bags before I could see them. Put it on the plane. Now saying they’re waiting on customs. This is what it looks like when ppl are paid big money to try to sabotage a tour after all else failed. Everything they’ve done is illegal.”
The incident prompted the Barbz to share their displeasure on social media, resulting in the hashtag “#FREENICKI” trending on X.

So The Exposure Begins
Joe Budden, the renowned rapper, songwriter, and media personality, has had his fair share of love. Naturally, his years in the limelight have proved him to be an undeniable influence on pop culture. Budden, however, is also quite popular in the dating market and is known for his romantic history. From high-profile romances to quieter affairs, Budden's dating history is as diverse as his lyrical repertoire, and it’s not without controversy. In the wake of the Diddy-Cassie scandal, Budden has called the mogul a “lying sack of sh*t.” However, Budden’s ex, Tahiry Jose, has also hit him with abuse allegations of his own.
early days when he experienced the thrills and tribulations of young romance. While details are scarce, his first relationship can be traced back to when he was 20 years old and dating a girl named Angie. While her last name was never disclosed, the two had a son named Joseph Budden III in 2001. Similar to the start of their relationship, there is no information on when the two broke up.
One of Joe Budden's most notable relationships was when he was dating Tahiry Jose, a model and former Love & Hip-Hop: New York star. Their on-again, off-again romance was very public and even played out on Love & Hip-Hop. The couple broke up twice, with Tahiry revealing on Hollywood Unlocked that Budden had physically assaulted her. While Budden denied the allegations, they left a lingering impact on his career. The couple’s relationship ultimately ended in 2010.
Following his split from Tahiry, Joe Budden began dating Esther Baxter, a model and actress. Their relationship was brief, with Budden announcing their breakup through his song “Ordinary Love S*t Pt.2.” However, that was not the end, as allegations of abuse also surfaced and Baxter filed charges with the police. Additionally, Baxter revealed in an interview with Bossip that she allegedly had a miscarriage due to the abuse. She subsequently dropped the charges.
Following the public scrutiny Budden had faced with his last relationship, his new relationship with Kaylin Garcia seemed to promise stability. The couple’s time together also blossomed on Love & Hip-Hop: New York, showcasing moments of genuine affection and companionship. However, like many of Budden's previous relationships, their love story encountered its share of challenges. While they tried to salvage their love by going to couples therapy, it did not work out for them. Ultimately, their relationship came to an end.
Arguably, one of Joe Budden's most publicized relationships arose when he began dating Cyn Santana. Their whirlwind romance was also documented on reality television as well as social media. The sweethearts welcomed a son named Lexington in 2017 and were engaged a year later. Sadly, their engagement did not last long as Santana called it off after four months. The relationship came to an end in 2019. A year later, in a leaked phone conversation, Santana accused Budden of physical abuse, substance abuse, and poor parenting. Budden denied all allegations.
Budden has found new love with another model and has been dating Shadée Monique since 2019. The pair were first spotted at a pool party, and she also reportedly accompanied him to commemorate his 39th birthday in Turks & Caicos in August 2019. Although initially tight-lipped about their relationship, Joe hinted at their relationship in a 2021 Instagram post. Just last year, Budden penned a heartfelt anniversary tribute on Instagram, commemorating four years of love with Shadée. The lovebirds seem to be in love and going strong.

Me Explaining To My Kids What Happened with Diddy
Surveillance video obtained by CNN appears to show music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs assaulting ex-girlfriend Cassie in a 2016 hotel attack she detailed in a since-settled lawsuit that alleged the rapper physically and sexually abused her for years.
CNN reported that the video was from an incident in March 2016. It captures multiple angles.
Cassie, 37, whose name is Casandra Ventura, alleged in a federal lawsuit in November that Combs raped and physically abused her, including punching, beating, kicking and stomping her over the course of their relationship. The lawsuit was settled the day after it was filed.
Representatives for Combs, 54, did not immediately respond to requests for comment Friday. He has previously denied the allegations, calling them sickening. Shortly after the settlement with Cassie, an attorney for Combs said the agreement was “in no way an admission of wrongdoing.”
In the suit, Cassie alleged Combs lured her into the relationship from the time they began working together while she was a rising artist at Combs’ label. She said in the suit that the abuse lasted more than a decade and accused Combs of controlling all aspects of her life.
Since Cassie’s lawsuit, Combs has been accused in a series of lawsuits from others of sexual and physical abuse, gang rape and “serious illegal activity.”

This Video is For Bardi Gang
Cardi B says she is not dropping a new album this year, as she had promised a few weeks back.
The rapper made the announcement in a conversations with fans online about the follow up to her 2018 debut album.
It has been six years since the rapper released her first studio album, Invasion of Privacy.
Cardi B had earlier indicated that her new album is expected to be release in 2024.
Apparently provoked by a fan's tweet poking fun at Cardi's past promises of her delayed album, the 31 year-old artist wrote on X, "Exactly and I tell myself this all the time .. and I hate that I fall back and start interacting again and it bites me in the a**."
She followed it up with the disappointing statement, saying, "Anyway NO album this year I don't care I'm relaxing this year .. Dropping these features I already committed to and traveling and enjoying my summer."
In celebration of the sixth anniversary of Invasion of Privacy in April, Cardi B had promised, "6 years later I'm preparing to drop the next one this year.. it's so different from what everyone is expecting and I'm sooo excited."

It’s A Shame We Can’t See The Footage
He is a subject of a federal criminal investigation and agents searched his properties this spring.
Combs has denied all the allegations and has vowed to clear his name.
According to CNN, the video, captured in a hotel hallway, shows Combs in a towel with no shirt on. He walks up behind a woman near an elevator and then grabs her and throws her to the ground. The man identified by CNN as Combs then appears to kick her twice. He then begins dragging the woman by her hooded sweatshirt while she is on the ground.
The woman, according to the video, picks up a phone while Combs is out of the view of the camera. Combs then enters the video frame and appears to shove the woman, who is no longer in the view of the camera.
Moments later, Combs, sitting in a chair, appears to pick up an object and throw it. The video footage does not have audio.
NBC News has not independently verified the video.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office on Saturday said it was aware of the “disturbing and difficult to watch” video.
“If the conduct depicted occurred in 2016, unfortunately, we would be unable to charge as the conduct would have occurred beyond the timeline where a crime of assault can be prosecuted,” it said in a statement. “As of today, law enforcement has not presented a case related to the attack depicted in the video against Mr. Combs.”
Douglas Wigdor, an attorney for Cassie, said Friday the video “has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs. Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light.”
In her suit, Cassie detailed an alleged attack that she said happened at a Los Angeles hotel in 2016 in which she suffered a “black eye” after Combs became drunk and punched her in the face.
She said that Combs then fell asleep but continued to be physically violent when he woke up and Cassie attempted to leave the hotel room, the lawsuit stated.
“He followed her into the hallway of the hotel while yelling at her. He grabbed at her, and then took glass vases in the hallway and threw them at her, causing glass to crash around them as she ran to the elevator to escape,” the suit stated.
Hotel staff urged her to get back into a cab and go to her apartment, “suggesting that they had seen the security footage showing Mr. Combs beating Ms. Ventura and throwing glass at her in the hotel hallway,” according to the suit.
In her suit, Cassie alleged that Combs paid the hotel $50,000 to obtain footage of the hallway incident.
On Friday, IHG Hotels & Resorts said that the hotel in the alleged incident is no longer under IHG management.
“IHG did not produce this footage, did not receive money for this footage, and does not have access to it,” it said in a statement.
A source familiar with the criminal investigation involving Combs told NBC in March that three women and a man had been interviewed by federal officials in Manhattan in relation to allegations of sex trafficking, sexual assault and the solicitation and distribution of illegal narcotics and firearms.
Since last fall, the rapper has been hit with five lawsuits in New York accusing him of sexual assault, sexual trafficking and engaging in other criminal activity.
He has settled the suit with Cassie, but the other suits are pending.
Lawyers for Combs have filed paperwork in court seeking to dismiss a Jane Doe lawsuit and partially dismiss another woman's suit.
In March, federal agents searched the rapper’s homes in Los Angeles and Miami. Three sources familiar with the matter told NBC News that firearms were found at his residences, but no additional details were provided.
Aaron Dyer, one of Combs’ attorneys, issued a statement following the raids and said that Combs “was never detained but spoke to and cooperated with authorities.” He described the raid as an ambush, saying there’s been a rush to judgment based on “meritless accusations made in civil lawsuits.”
“There has been no finding of criminal or civil liability with any of these allegations,” Dyer said. “Mr. Combs is innocent and will continue to fight every single day to clear his name.”
On Thursday, a man who was arrested on drug charges while federal agents conducted the searches of Combs' properties agreed to a plea deal.
Brendan Paul was with Combs as federal agents searched the rapper’s plane and was arrested at the Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport in March on charges of possession of suspected cocaine and suspected marijuana candy, according to a police report.
“Brendan accepted the prosecutor’s offer to permit his entry into the diversion program which, after completion, the case against him will be dismissed in its entirety,” his attorney, Brian Bieber, said Thursday.

This Is A Toxic Situation On Both Parts
During the episode, the 45-year-old claimed that his ex-wife, Tyisha Hampton, cheated and got pregnant by multiple men during their marriage. He said he chose to stay to make it work for their two kids during that time. The gory details began unfolding when Mitchell discussed how he ended up married to his ex-wife.
The Club Shay Shay podcast is going viral yet again and this time it’s because of the latest interview between host Shannon Sharpe and actor Kel Mitchell.
“I ended up marrying my ex-wife because we had another baby. We had the abortion and then we had a baby… and she ended up telling me that the baby that was aborted wasn’t mine,” he shared. “Within that process, you already marry within a lie.”
When asked whether their marriage was the same after that revelation, Mitchell replied, “No, this is the beginning. This started at the beginning. Within that process and that being known … Now I’m on TV. I don’t have time to process that.”
During the lengthy interview, the former Nickelodeon star also accused Hampton of getting pregnant during times they weren’t sexually intimate and said he once caught her with a man, one of her friends, in a hotel lobby.
“I got in the whip, went driving around, saw her whip. I saw it at the hotel. I go to the lobby, turns out the dude just came walking down the lobby about to go to the car. My car that she was driving,” he recalled. “I’m like, ‘Oh, OK, what’s up? Take me upstairs.’”

Cardi Was Not Playing About Baby Reindeer
Baby Reindeer sounds intense enough from the description alone. When I sat down to watch Netflix’s most recent word-of-mouth sensation, all I knew was it was about a man stalked by an older woman over a period of several years. Obviously, I knew I'd be venturing into dark territory, but I had no idea I was about to view one of the streamer’s most disturbing and brilliant originals to date.
When we see fledgling comedian Donny Dunn (Richard Gadd) working at a pub, it’s obvious his career isn’t taking off the way he wants it to. While working a slow shift, he can't help but notice when the glum Martha Scott (Jessica Gunning) takes a seat. Donny offers to serve her, but Martha admits she can’t afford anything. Without hesitating, Donny offers her cup of tea on the house. This errant act of kindness leads to 41,000 emails, 350 hours of voicemails, 106 pages of letters, and countless social media messages over the next few years. Yep, Martha is a stalker.
But she’s so kind and jovial it's hard – for the viewer as well as the bartender – not to be drawn into her world. And the lies she tells to make herself appear more palatable don’t really seem like lies at first. It’s easy to make a logical assumption about each mistruth. She carries a basic candy bar phone, but her email sign-offs read "Sent from my iPhone." Maybe she has a business phone and a personal phone. She can’t afford to drink at a bar, but owns lavish properties. Maybe she’s fallen on hard times, right? Whatever the case, Donny, against his better judgment, has fallen for it. He’s as captivated by Martha as I was at that point, as I hung on every word, and did my best to map out where Baby Reindeer could possibly go next – and Gadd’s scripts defied my predictions at every turn.
It felt like I was supposed to laugh at Martha’s attempt at dolling herself up to impress Donny. Or the seemingly ridiculous notion that Donny would ever be interested in having sex with her. But Baby Reindeer, for all its bleakness, is more complex than that. It’s never so cruel to suggest that Donny shouldn’t be attracted to Martha because of her weight. Instead, it turns our attention to more honest red flags like her apparent instability and her very personality – the latter of which Gunning skillfully depicts as quite benign at first, though she’s clearly overattached.
I continuously marveled at how far Donny is willing to go with Martha before making a solid attempt at letting her down easy, though. He becomes painfully addicted to her compliments and relishes her attention more and more as the show goes on. Each innocent interaction between them strengthens her perception that they're meant to be together. That delusion often had me cringing in my seat, struggling to understand how Martha could live with herself after behaving in such a way.
It’s all especially difficult to watch, as Donny makes it clear to the audience that he’s already in a relationship with Teri (Nava Mau), a therapist he met on a trans dating site. When Donny’s confusion about his seemingly fluid sexual orientation and masculinity cause him to self-sabotage, I was disappointed that he couldn’t have one good relationship in his life – not with Teri, and not even with Martha. Baby Reindeer makes Donny someone worth rooting for. I wanted him to succeed. But there’s something in the way, and I couldn’t piece together what that was.
Luckily, Baby Reindeer spells it out in very plain terms in a gut punch of a reveal. I won’t go into details here for spoiler reasons, but I do want to emphasize that the series faces topics like sexual violence in sometimes brutally graphic ways. The most intense of these scenes are confined to flashbacks in the fourth episode; the incidents they depicted are difficult to digest, but they also illuminate the self-loathing and masochism that Donny exhibits in the present day. This elevates Baby Reindeer from a seemingly simple and comical look at a dangerous situation and gives it even much higher stakes. It explains so much about what I had wondered about Donny that it almost felt cathartic for me as well. Considering that Gadd is dramatizing events from his real life, you'd think there'd be an attempt to sugarcoat things, but thankfully that's not the case. He gives an incredibly raw portrayal of the trauma he both faced and inflicted with incredible zeal.

She’s Willing To Ignore The Drama
Since late 2023, Sean “Diddy” Combs has been named a defendant in several sexual abuse lawsuits. His on-again-off-again girlfriend Yung Miami, however, has remained virtually silent. And while it’s unclear if she had any information about federal investigators’ Monday raid of Diddy’s Miami Beach home, many of her fans have taken a subsequent string of tweets as a response.
This finna be a fun summer,” the 30-year-old rapper who’s one-half of the City Girls duo tweeted late Monday afternoon. In response to a tweet asking about her whereabouts, the City Girls rapper responded, “Right here what’s up?” But Yung Miami had already begun to distance herself from the 54-year-old Bad Boy Records founder before the raid. In January, theJasmineBrand reported that a reality show starring Yung Miami cut all footage across several episodes that featured Combs, with whom she had been involved since spring 2022.
The move came months after Combs’ legal troubles began. In November 2023, Combs’ ex girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie, born Cassandra Ventura, sued him for sexual abuse, alleging that he had beat and raped her as well as coerced her into having sex with other men. Although Combs settled the lawsuit within 48 hours, the allegations didn’t stop. Three woman and one man have since filed additional civil lawsuits against the music impresario, accusing Diddy of everything from drugging victims to sexual assault to gang-rape to human trafficking. Diddy has denied all allegations, taking to Instagram to profess his innocence in December 2023.
“ENOUGH IS ENOUGH”, Diddy wrote in all caps. “FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS, I HAVE SAT SILENTLY AND WATCHED PEOPLE TRY TO ASSASSINATE MY CHARACTER, DESTROY MY REPUTATION AND MY LEGACY. SICKENING ACCUSATIONS HAVE BEEN MADE AGAINST ME BY INDIVIDUALS LOOKING FOR A QUICK PAYDAY.” The most recent lawsuit came from Combs’ former producer and videographer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones in February. Across the 73-page federal suit, Jones claimed to have “hundreds of hours of footage and audio recordings of Mr. Combs, his staff, and his guests engaging in serious illegal activity.” Yung Miami is named more than a dozen times in Jones’ suit, which claims that she was “paid a monthly fee to work as Mr. Combs’ sex worker.” Jones also accused the rapper’s unnamed cousin of sexually assaulting him. Out of the two, the cousin was the only one listed as a defendant. The complaint was amended Tuesday to add that Yung Miami brought Combs tuci, a mix of cocaine and ecstacy, when the latter was in Virginia for the 2023 Something in the Water festival.
Combs and Yung Miami’s relationship has always been mysterious. Though the pair confirmed the dating rumors during a June 2022 episode of Yung Miami’s show “Caresha Please,” which aired on Revolt TV, a network Diddy co-founded in 2013, the relationship never appeared exclusive. So when Diddy announced the birth of his seventh child by another woman in Dec. 2022, Yung Miami appeared unbothered in a subsequent Instagram post. “PLEASE!!! Life’s GREAT!” the caption read. “Only thing I’m mentally breaking down is should I do 15 or 20 percent off @careshaplease” merchandise.

The Story Behind Cassie Boob Job
In the wake of a swift settlement between rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs and RnB icon Cassie, several details regarding their tumultuous relationship have started to resurface.
Diddy allegedly pressured Cassie into getting breast implants and then changed his mind, requesting she reverse the procedure a day after it was completed.
Famous music producer Diddy has been plagued with several scathing allegations and claims against him since his ex-girlfriend, Cassandra Ventura, also known as Cassie, filed a lawsuit, alleging that he raped and physically abused her during their relationship.
Although the pair have settled the case, sources are starting to make shocking claims about the "Coming Home" rapper, saying that he once forced Cassie to get breast implants and then made her take them out the following day.
The source who allegedly witnessed the incident playout said that a tearful Cassie sat in silence as Diddy ordered Dr. Frank Ryan, a celebrity surgeon, to reverse the procedure.
"Diddy thought they could go right back into surgery, like now, and take them out," the source said. "And Dr. Ryan was like, 'No way,' trying to explain to him that we should wait at least six months to see how it heals because she was just opened up."
The source continued, "But Diddy was like, 'No, they've got to come out, call who you need to call, they've got to come out.'"

The Story Behind The Akademics Lawsuit
In court documents obtained by the media outlet, a former acquaintance, Fauziya Abashe, alleges that Akademics (real name Livingston Allen), along with two of his friends, raped her, after they drugged her at his residence. The alleged incident took place in July 2022.
DJ Akademiks is on the hot seat after his ex-girlfriend filed a rape lawsuit against him, but he isn’t going down without a fight. The controversial media personality recently claimed that if he does go down for his allegations, he will take the entire rap industry down with him.
Rolling Stone obtained court documents filed through the Superior Court of New Jersey; Ziya Abashe, the Off The Record host’s former partner, is suing him for rape and defamation. She claims that, upon visiting Akademiks’ home in 2022, she was met by two men who drugged and coerced her into drinking to inebriation before they assaulted and raped her.
DJ Akademiks, media personality and host of the “Off The Record” podcast, has been accused of rape in a lawsuit filed in New Jersey Superior Court.
In the filing, Fauziya “Ziya” Abashe alleges that she was assaulted by Akademiks, whose real name is Livingston Allen, and two John Does in two separate incidents at Akademiks’ New Jersey home in 2022, according to documents obtained by Rolling Stone.
Abashe, a writer who dated Akademiks in 2021 before splitting later that year, claims she was invited to Akademik’s home in July 2022, where she was drugged, assaulted and raped by two men on his pool deck, Rolling Stone reported. The next morning, Abashe claims, Akademiks allegedly “brutally” raped her.
In the suit, Abashe claims that Akademiks “showed her surveillance footage of the two men raping her, and she included text messages from Akademiks afterward saying that she should ‘get tested’ and he would too,” according to Vulture.
Akademiks allegedly admitted to having sex with Abashe during a wire call, Abashe claimed in the lawsuit per Vulture. Abashe said she originally reported her alleged assault to the police before deciding not to press charges, the outlet reported. She chose to file the lawsuit after Akademiks brought up the alleged incident in a video posted to his YouTube channel on December 23, 2023.
In the video, Akademiks refers to Abashe “getting trained by my two mens on the pool deck,” leading Abashe to sue him for defamation. Abashe claims she tried to resolve the case privately several times without success, according to Abashe’s lawyer, Tyrone Blackburn.

JT Finally Responds And It’s Trash
JT recently took to social media platform X to call out Sukihana for what she sees as clout chasing. The City Girl rapper addressed claims that her song “Okay” contained a lyric about Sukihana, which Sukihana seemed to leverage for self-promotion.
In the song, JT raps, “She ate crab legs, now her whole tooth missin’/Cheap a** veneers, you stay talkin’ s***.” Sukihana created a video on April 29 stating that she was “locked up when the song came out.” After the song’s release, some social media users speculated whether JT’s diss was directed at Sukihana or another female artist. It’s worth noting that Sukihana lost a veneer in 2022 after eating crab legs.
On May 2, Sukihana seemed to take a jab at JT by quoting lyrics from “Okay” and implying that JT used cocaine. She tweeted, “She pretty than a mufuka, but she be doing cocainnnn.” She followed up with another tweet, “Y’all pray for me nothing wrong it’s just JT lips use to be so white.”
JT responded on May 3, accusing Sukihana of seeking public attention and noting that they could have addressed the issue privately. In her response, JT said, “To clear the air, @sukihanagoat, you knew I wasn’t talking about you. I would’ve answered quicker if you didn’t try to do a 2-for-1 special! I never knew your tooth fell out from eating crab legs.”
JT continued her rant, stating that Sukihana could have sent her a direct message instead of trying to use her for attention. She also pointed out that Sukihana was at her party uninvited and accused her of seeking attention.
JT’s rant ended with a sharp message for those who, in her view, were pushing a narrative about her: “And for all y’all who wanted to stick that ‘clear the air’ narrative on me… I never got on here asking nobody to clear the air. I said don’t mention me if you were pushing a narrative. But y’all so far up my a*s, y’all wanna play dumb.”

This Was Always Spice Sorry To Burst Your Bubble
BACK IN 2002, Sean Paul released “Gimme the Light” and watched as it swiftly became one of the most inescapable songs across the country, but especially in the Bronx. Ice Spice, the princess of New York‘s rap scene, was only two at the time — but her latest single, “Gimme a Light,” flips the OG record and taps into the essence of the borough that birthed her.
“Off the liquor, we be gettin’ nasty/Ghetto, fabulous and fancy/She gettin’ loud but nobody moved (Word)/Talk of the town, I’m makin’ the news,” Ice Spice raps on the track. “Pretty-ass face and some pretty-ass boobs/Pretty-ass bitch, I be shakin’ the room/Stank-ass bitch tryna grill me/She actin’ lost, but of course she in tune.”
In the newly-released “Gimme a Light” music video, Ice Spice zips through New York twerking in the backseat of a hot pink Range Rover with a crew of bikers tailing the truck. Clouds of smoke from the rapper’s blunt permeate the air and pour from the windows, they’re even there as she makes her way through a crowded party later on in the clip. Ice Spice directed the visual alongside Frederick Buford and George Buford. Ice Spice first premiered “Gimme a Light” during her recent performance at Coachella in April. Her set featured her catalog classics “Munch (Feelin’ U),” “Princess Diana,” “Gangsta Boo,” and “No Clarity,” plus the PinkPantheress collaboration “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2.” But the rapper also used her set to preview her forthcoming debut studio album Y2K, for which “Gimme a Light” marks the first official lead single. Set for release sometime this year, the record will likely feature the previously released single “Think U the Shit (Fart).”
Last year, Ice Spice told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe that her approach to making music is intrinsically connected to her upbringing in the Bronx — particularly the Fordham Road shopping area and how retailers would often play upbeat music (like Sean Paul’s “Gimme the Light”) to attract customers. “The second I stop having fun while recording, I need to just close the session and come back to it later,” she said. “I don’t really think, ‘How am I going to get people to come into my store?’ consciously, but I probably do without even realizing it.”
