TheC64 | X-Windows Mod
TheC64 is an ARM based, re-implementation of the Commodore 64 in it’s approximate original package to include a full-sized, working, keyboard but instead of the original ports, it is adorned with HDMI, and USB ports. The power switch is not the toggle switch that cuts the power but rather a push-button soft witch with additional functionality.
Since its underpinnings are Linux, there is a kind of non-destructive "modification" you can do to take advantage of some of the Linux goodness that supports this device.
Based on information from this forum thread:

Whirlpool WFW8620HC4 Front Load Washer Door Latch Release
In a situation where the door will not open on a Whirlpool Front Load Washer of the 2022 vintage, it can be manually. This requires removal of the lid which is held on by 3 screws. The latch can be released by pushing down on the top of the latch assembly. An audible click will be heard as the lock is disengaged.

2022 Christmas Lights | Sia - Candy Cane Lane
Happy Christmastime 2022. Here is the featured Christmas Light Show for this year.
Changes in light display added two "fake bushes" on both sides of the house and a "pixel tree" that has 890 individually programmable lights, like the house, snow flakes and candy (chroma) canes. There are a total of 2337 individually controllable lights along with 9 channels that turn on and off the more traditional lighting such as the bush nets, railing and tree wraps as well as the little props in the yard. Not visible is the sign that directs viewers to tune to 88.5 FM to listen to the light dance with music.
Original Sound Track and music video for Candy Cane Lane, which is totally a fun watch:

Light sequenced to music using Falcon Player v6.3 running on a BeagleBone Black with the Kulp Lights F8-B Cape and a Pixel2AC board. The sequence was programmed using xLights on openSUSE Linux.

Commodore 1541 Impostor | Media Module Companion to C64x
The Commodore 64x or my "Impostor 64" is modern mini-ITX computer case made to resemble the Commodore 64. The problem with it is it does lack some connectivity and as a consequence, needs a multimedia companion device. Since I couldn't find anything suitable, I decided to take an empty Commodore 1541 case and turn it into the aesthetically perfect accessory.
Like my previous Commodore 64 Impostor, this too is a vanity build and likely not for everyone but if you have a love of the vintage, a spare Commodore 1541 case, this just may be the thing for you.

PETSCII Robots on TheC64 with a USB SNES-Like Controller
“PETSCII Robots” by The 8-Bit Guy, David Murray is a blast to play on the Commodore 64 or VIC-20. I very much enjoyed my experience on the actual hardware but I wanted to play this new game on a TheC64 with a SNES style controller. Unfortunately, it wasn’t as straight forward as one might think. This is how I accomplished it.

Magnetic USB Cable | Save your phone and Tablet from Destruction
A bit hyperbolic of a title but it's true. In order to save myself the headache of dealing with broken tablets. I have gone to using Magnetic USB cables to save the stress on the connectors.
It is not a perfect solution as the connector ends do like to collect anything magnetic and as a consequence need to be cleaned. The best magnetic cables that also do data don't seem to have a USB-C to USB-C option so higher voltage charging doesn't seem to be a possibility either.

openSUSE on the Raspberry Pi 400
It was just over a year ago that there was an incredible buzz over the release of the Pi 400. In 2022, this ARM based computer is still a fantastic device that I highly recommend for just about anyone that wants to projects of any kind. I was late to the party in adding the Pi400 to my "cubicle" but better late than never.
I have an almost unhealthy obsession with the openSUSE project and absolutely adore this Raspberry Pi. Putting together the fun, flexibility, ease of management and reliability of openSUSE with the low cost and highly capable hardware seems like the absolute perfect combination.
The question I am going to answer here is, "How Well does it openSUSE?"
