Monty Python’s Life of Brian - Always Look On … - Cinema Decon Random Favorite Movie Scenes #shorts
I saw SPAMALOT over the weekend on Broadway and this song has been in my head ever since.
Monty Python’s Life of Brian (also known as Life of Brian) is a 1979 British comedy film starring and written by the comedy group Monty Python (Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin). It was directed by Jones. The film tells the story of Brian Cohen (played by Chapman), a young Jewish-Roman man who is born on the same day as—and next door to—Jesus, and is subsequently mistaken for the Messiah.
The film’s themes of religious satire were controversial at the time of its release, drawing accusations of blasphemy and protests from some religious groups.
The film was a box office success, the fourth-highest-grossing film in the United Kingdom in 1979, and highest grossing of any British film in the United States that year. It has remained popular and has been named as the greatest comedy film of all time by several magazines and television networks, and it later received a 96% “Certified Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes with the consensus reading, “One of the more cutting-edge films of the 1970s, this religious farce from the classic comedy troupe is as poignant as it is funny and satirical.” In a 2006 Channel 4 poll, Life of Brian was ranked first on their list of the 50 Greatest Comedy Films.

The Temptations (Mini-Series) - Shout - Cinema Decon Random Favorite Scenes
The Temptations is a four-hour television miniseries broadcast in two-hour halves on NBC, based upon the history of one of Motown’s longest-lived acts, The Temptations. Executive produced by former Motown executive Suzanne de Passe, produced by Otis Williams and Temptations manager Shelley Berger, and based upon Williams’ Temptations autobiography, the miniseries was originally broadcast on November 1 and November 2, 1998.
Starring Charles Malik Whitfield as Otis Williams, D. B. Woodside as Melvin “Blue” Franklin, Terron Brooks as Eddie Kendricks, Christian Payton as Paul Williams, Leon Robinson (Leon) as David Ruffin.
The miniseries was based upon Otis Williams’ book; as such, it came from his perspective: the focus of the story tended to be on Williams and Melvin Franklin, with David Ruffin and Eddie Kendricks seen as antagonists for much of the second half (although Kendricks was still given a more sympathetic portrayal than Ruffin). Dennis Edwards was not heavily focused upon, nor was much said of the problems he later had with Otis Williams. Nevertheless, the miniseries gave a general overview of both the history of the group and that of Motown, and, thanks to de Passe’s connection, the film was able to use authentic props and locations. A number of liberties were taken with factual events for dramatization purposes.

Bubba Ho-Tep - Never F*ck With The King - Cinema Decon Random Favorite Scenes
Bubba Ho-Tep is a 2002 American comedy horror film written, co-produced and directed by Don Coscarelli. It stars Bruce Campbell as Elvis Presley—now a resident in a nursing home. The film also stars Ossie Davis as Jack, a black man who claims to be John F. Kennedy, explaining that he was patched up after the assassination, dyed black, and abandoned.
Originally the film was “roadshowed” by the director across the country. Only 32 prints were made and circulated around various film festivals, though this garnered critical success. By the time it was released on DVD, it had already achieved cult status due to positive reviews, lack of access, and inclusion of (and similar on-the-road hard work by) Bruce Campbell.
