Spring Nature Walk
Spring has sprung!
This video was recorded at my favorite local park. In this previous video -https://rumble.com/v4xt6z6-looking-for-signs-of-spring.html - I was wondering if spring would ever get here!
And it finally did! The weather was perfect on this day to film a short walk.
I paused on the bridge to look at the debris jam in the river. The jam caught on one of the pillars of the bridge. I paused the music so you could hear the river flowing.
The river is muddy due to the melting and debris breaking loose. This is pretty typical in the spring and will clear up as the season goes on.

Looking for Signs of Spring
This video was filmed in early April; the time of year in the Midwest where you wonder if Spring will ever arrive. If you look closely in the first portion of the video, you will catch a glimpse of the deer hiding in the sparse cover.
The trees were just starting to show that faint feathery look on the branches, which typically indicates that spring is slowly making its way in. The grass, smaller trees, and brush turn green much faster than the older established trees.

Wild Geese Feeding in a Corn Field
As we do frequently in the Midwest, we were driving around on the outskirts of the city and came across another flock of geese, this time feeding in a cornfield.
If you have never experienced this or seen this in real life, it quite an amazing site.
There are hundreds of geese and they are very noisy. As you can see in video, we weren't real close to them but you could clearly hear them calling each other.
Geese are much bigger than most people think they are, and if they feel threatened, they will chase you and 'bite' you with their beaks and flap their huge wings trying to slap you with them. If you never been bitten or chased by a goose, it only takes one time experiencing that and you quickly learn to respect their space!
Anyway, enjoy my Midwest adventures and the beauty of nature.

My Off The Track Thoroughbred Mare
A collection of photos of my OTTB (off the track thoroughbred). She is 15 years old this year and has been the easiest horse to restart off the track. She is very level headed and very willing to try new things. Her 'dramatics' are typically a quick raise of her head and/or rapidly moving her hooves while remaining in place.
Ex-race horses aren't for everyone and not all are as even tempered or level headed as mine is but the majority can be restarted for a second career. These horses excel in jumping, dressage, trail riding, running barrels and poles.....and too many other events to list. If you don't mind a tall trail partner, they make fabulous trail riding horses!
Please help me find out what happened to my other Thoroughbred! Click here for details: https://rumble.com/v2drumq-please-help-me-locate-my-horse.html

Deer in the City
We live in the city, but are lucky enough to be able to see Mother Nature’s finest almost in our backyard.
There is nothing quite as graceful as deer or as elusive. It’s definitely a waiting game to capture a glimpse.
The vultures at the end were just an added bonus! My grandma called vultures Mother Nature’s garbage disposals!

Heat Ligtning
Heat lightning earlier this summer. I didn't have my GoPro with me so I used the iPad. This didn't turn out too bad. Sorry for moving the iPad around so much, I don't have a real steady hand.
I tried to use the burst feature on the iPad camera and ended up with more photos then I could count! This is just a small collection of them.
I also played around with GarageBand and that is where the music came from. Please don't judge me too harshly! I have zero musical talent and am not very familiar with Apple products , but sure did have fun messing around with it.

Custom Hobie and Current Designs Kayaks
The first part of the video shows our previous kayaks, which were Current Designs Kestrel 120's, which we traded in on a 12 ft Hobie Outback.
The Ketrel's were incredibly easy to handle in and out of the water. They slid through the water silent and smooth.
We used the same trailer as in a previous video for the Hobie and added a Garmin fish finder powered by a Dakota Lithium battery, Yeti cooler, fish net, a down-rigger, and wheels for ease of transporting the kayak over land, LED lights for night fishing.....
Enjoy and please hit the + sign under the video and follow the channel please.

Colorado Inflatable Pontoon
We purchased this inflatable pontoon boat to fish in no wake lakes and ponds. And we wanted something a single person could handle easily and tow with a smaller pickup.
This is a 9 ft long Classic Accessories -Colorado inflatable pontoon (no we are not affiliated with the company), we just wanted to share the customization we did with it.
Inflates nicely with an K-pump and is outfitted with a - Yeti bucket, Yeti cooler, standard pedestal fishing seat, and a trolling motor.
PVC pipe used to make the rod holders which were then fastened to a piece of treated wood covered in indoor/outdoor carpet, the trolling motor is also mounted on treated wood.
The trailer is a 4x5 trailer, purchased locally at a farm store, with a treated wood platform, cut to fit and covered in indoor/outdoor carpet.
Please share any suggestions or photos of your own, if you have one!

Using the GoPro to Capture the Subtle Signs of Spring
I took a short walk through a state park with old, old trees to see if spring was ever going to poke it's head out. This park is located on a flood plain with a mix of old dead trees and old live trees. Any signs of spring here usually indicate spring is just around the corner.
The grass was poking through the fallen leaves and if you look close, some of the trees look 'feathery' in the upper branches, which indicates buds and/or small leaves growing.
After a long winter, these small signs of spring were wonderful to see!
Please leave any comments or suggestions you may have on using the GoPro or on the video.

Please Help Me Locate My Horse
I sent my horse on a breeding lease to a person I have known since the 90's and who I thought I could trust. The breeder then contacted me on December 2, 2022 stating the horse was missing, but all other broodmares and the stallion were accounted for.
All I want is to know the whereabouts of my horse and get her back home. I have had ZERO leads or sightings.
Please contact me at locatesweetpea@gmail.com if you have seen this horse, have knowledge of what happened to her, or are in possession of her.
Thank you very much for any help!!!

Stickers the Hedgehog
Miss Stickers the hedgehog messing around having some 'floor' time. She gets more and more sociable and playful by the day.
Hedgehogs will raise their quills when startled and pull their quills down over their face at the same time. She occasionally still does this but is getting much braver each time she is handled.

I visited a park recently and snapped a few photos on the way there and in the park using my GoPro Hero10. Fall has arrived here and many of the trees have shed their leaves, although there are a few that are still sporting colored leaves.

Mother Nature is Amazing! Seen Through the Eyes of a GoPro
Even if you live in the city, it is possible to find a touch of Nature. This video was filmed with my GoPro Hero10 in a local park in a large city. Birds, Birds, and More Birds
This video was recorded using my iPad rather then my GoPro. The iPad works pretty well for this, I was pleasantly surprised! This was my first attempt using the iPad to make a video.
This was a cold November day in 2021 and the birds were skimming the water looking for supper.
