In this video, I review all of the ideas that I’ve presented in the two prior video series on "Light and Shadow" and "Light and Transformation" based on my works. Beginning with my personal creative crisis, which prompted these works in the first place, I describe how I dealt with this crisis situation as an artist, why it was a necessary process for me to grow as an artist and as a human being, why I believe we as humanity and planet are historically at a similar point of development, and what we can learn here from art and creativity to survive and shape this dark transitional space, this bridge from an old world to a new world. I hope this video, as well as the previous two video series, inspire you to bravely and confidently cross this bridge into the unknown, because one thing is certain: we must do it. We might view this bridge as a journey of violent suffering and victimization, or as a path of self-knowledge and remembrance of our genuine selves. The painting "The New Human" was created in 2021 during the pandemic, a time of severe social crisis, governmental persecution, division in the media, and the ensuing division within the individual and, consequently, in myself. I asked myself: Do I want to be a part of this division? What can be done to bridge this gap? Where can I go, and where should we go from here? What have I learned, and what have we, as humans, learned as a result of this? What is the new human, who emerges as a result of these experiences? After the events of these crisis years, what kind of new world do we want to create? I went to my studio and started working on this painting as a way for me to personally investigate and process these questions. In this video, you can also for the first time witness the work's gradual creation process and comprehend how the final theme gradually crystallized via painting, as well as learn to what answers painting has lead me as a means of reflection and insight. In this video, we’re moving on from the co-creating couple to the co-creating group and the role of the individual, and examine this dynamic from all perspectives: vertical, horizontal, and frontal. We start out with the painting entitled „The ones before, and the ones after us". In this vertical view of the co-creation process, we look into the past and future of the collective creation, which is always made up of individuals who came before us (ancestors) and those who will come after us (descendants). We are always part of an ongoing evolution, and our individual perspectives contribute our "building blocks" to this mutual co-creation. This axis could be interpreted as the axis of time. We then move to the horizontal creation perspective with the painting "Co-Creators," where we see tectonic beings joining in a circle, which reminds us of a mountain chain creating a powerful light. This could be interpreted as the space axis. Finally, we have the duality perspective in the painting "One (in front) of Many," which depicts the individual's frontal, eye to eye, face to face encounter with the group. What happens when we are alone and confronted by a larger group that expects/imposes a particular point of view on us? Are we capable of facing the Many in our own light and authenticity? In this video of the Light and Transformation series, I present you the work entitled „Co-Creators" aka "United Alchemists". It was created in 2021, during the pandemic, which was characterized by fear, black and white thinking, isolated individuals and a deeply divided society. Socio-political conditions whose reconciliation remains an issue until today. The work arose from the intractable problem of social division. Out of questions I couldn't rationally answer at the time: Why does this happen, and what can I learn from it? How can we, as individuals with our distinct perspectives, abilities, and talents collaborate rather than compete? How can we transform our powerlessness into creative power and move from this old each against the other mentality to one of togetherness, allowing something completely new to emerge together and co-creating the new world whose birth we all long for? As I continue my investigation into "Light and Transformation," I discuss three of my paintings that center around the idea that humans are Light Alchemists, co-creators of light, which serves as a metaphor for the source of creation itself. In these paintings, I depict the couple as the balanced, creative polarity that co-creates the light, which then becomes the source of their own physical and metaphysical materialization: Creators and Creation being different states of the same one light source in a constant process of conscious self creation. The "Phoenix," the bird that burns itself down to resurrect from its own ashes. A story about death and rebirth, about falling and rising, about self-transformation. In my artworks, I depict the Phoenix as a human being and tell the story of the cycles of death and rebirth that we as humans experience repeatedly throughout our lives and possibly beyond. The process of transitioning from one stage to the next in which we burn ourselves to ashes and use the very ashes to fuel our transformation of the old self into a new self. To me, the Phoenix is a major symbol of human self-empowerment. This transformative art meditation shows a selection of my art works, that explore the topic of the PHOENIX: The "Phoenix," the bird that burns itself down to resurrect from its own ashes. A story about death and rebirth, about falling and rising, about self-transformation. In my artworks, I depict the Phoenix as a human being and tell the story of the cycles of death and rebirth that we as humans experience repeatedly throughout our lives and possibly beyond. How to practice art meditations: I see my artworks as metaphysical tools for self-discovery, so I created this new artistic format of "art meditations" to allow you to experience these works as metaphysical tools for your personal contemplation and inner journey. I invite you to see these works of art as portals into your inner world, allowing you to go deeper within, into your unknown, your mystery of self, your darkness, your universe. Here you will receive your unique inspiration and activation on any questions, topics, or issues you may have. Prepare by relaxing, quieting your mind, breathing in and out, letting go of all mind chatter, and opening yourself up to the experience. You can begin this process with a question, an intention, or simply by remaining open and allowing the work to reveal itself to you. These works of art have a unique impact, inspiration, or activation on you. It can be both appealing and repulsive. Understand that this is not the artwork itself. Understand that it is not the art work itself that is doing this; rather, it is a mirror for a (subconscious) reaction within you that you can now address: What comes to mind for you? Where do you stand in this image? What does it make you think of? What emotions/images/memories does it elicit? Pay close attention to what is going on. You connected with the work, and it is now sending you your very own unique message. It can arrive mentally as words, emotionally as emotions, physically as bodily sensations, or as a metaphysical experience. Understand that there is no right or wrong in this situation. This is the last video of the series "LIGHT & SHADOW – Art that transcends duality"! In this video I discuss two abstract-figurative ink paintings from 2016 and 2017 – entitled „Opening“ and "Mirror" – In these works I explored the dynamics that arise from the interplay of light and darkness, displayed through the encounter of two (abstract) figures. The interesting thing about these works is that it is not clear where the light in the painting actually comes from, where or who is the light source? It seems almost that the light arises from the encounter of the two, as if the two figures illuminate each other, make each other visible and thus perceive not only the other but also themselves. Whether this encounter is a warm embrace, a gesture of attack, or both, this interpretation is left to you as the viewer. In this video I discuss a series of my ink drawings on paper. In these works I explore our perception of ourselves and therefore the world using the shape of the head. I see the head as the space and seat of our inner self perception, consciousness, beliefs and views that we externalize and project into the outer world, because: We are inside, what we perceive outside. These very abstract head shapes, are an invitation to become curious and find your reflection in the art work, to use it as a mirror for the unseen layers within yourself, and thus become conscious about your inner world, your inner universe, which is always your choice and free will to do so. In this video from my artist lecture series "LIGHT & SHADOW – Art that transcends duality" I discuss a series of my art works that address the specific point of view within polarity, that is precisely in between the two poles: the zero point. From this point of balance, we are able to perceive and access any conceivable outcome between two poles, two sides, as it is the third point, that unites all perspectives. (Think of the point in the center of a lemniscate or infinity loop: ∞) This point of view gives us the opportunity to navigate and experience, both, light and darkness and the many qualities in between that emerge from the dance-fight of these two complementing forces. Based on these works, I also talk about how – when we look at the darkness and see only a few highlights – we tend to fill in the missing parts subjectively and according to our beliefs and attitudes, and thus the shape, the story, as a whole, is created in our minds without us actually being able to see the whole picture. My art is a metaphysical tool to know thyself. In this video, I discuss my art work "Geometrical Fusion" and address how works of art can be understood and used as portals for the metaphysical journey into one's inner self.
