Man Films Train Barreling Down Tracks, Captures Stunning Moment It Collides With Wall Of Snow
“Dashing through the snow” is the opening lyrics of one of the best and catchiest Christmas songs in existence. That being said, we firmly believe that is would be the perfect theme song for this footage of a powerful Canadian National Railway locomotive 2304.
After a considerable blizzard blanketed the region with fresh mounds of perfectly white snow, drifts of the stuff had piled up at one railroad crossing. A man that had found himself at the intersection with the ramp down to warn drivers of the incoming train, took a safe distance from the rails and whipped out his phone to capture this magnificent footage. Boy, how thankful we are of that!
As the majestic machine made its way on the tracks, it blasts its way through the pristine mounds of glimmering snow that has piled up. The view is amazing! The locomotive leads the daily CN manifest trail 406 west from Moncton to Saint John in New Brunswick. This particular intersection is at the village of Salisbury in Westmorland County, Canada.
The engineers on the train may have a bird’s eye view of what lies ahead, but the trains still send the powder billowing in a giant fountain in all directions, creating a breathtaking view. As the locomotive approaches our cameraman, realization dawns upon us that when the massive thing reaches him, he will probably be buried in all that snow and we are not wrong!
When the nose of the locomotive hits the mounds that snow plows have created on the road, it sends chunks flying everywhere, covering the camera that was filming it this entire time. It feels like we are being transferred to another world! A few seconds later, the filmer clears the lens on his camera so that we can see the rows of tanks passing, taking a total of two and a half minutes to pass.
Besides Mother Nature, few powers in our regular daily existences are as incredible as a speeding train. One man chose to grandstand this reality in a short video taken at the town of Salisbury in Westmorland County, Canada.
The Canadian National Railway train 2304 takes this course each day from Moncton to Saint John in New Brunswick, so this brave picture taker set up his shot and paused. The following video is fascinating! Wow, it must have been exhilarating for the person talking this video!
