Putting the Heat on Climate Dogmatism
Climate alarmists are given to declaring that a recent year or few years were the "hottest ever." But to do so they must downplay or dismiss episodes like the Medieval Warm Period, Roman Warm Period or Holocene Climatic Optimum (to say nothing of conditions before the Pleistocene Ice Age) because they don't just show that climate fluctuates naturally. They show that even since the end of the last glaciation it has often been hotter than it is now, and without the catastrophic consequences they predict if it gets slightly warmer, including the fabled runaway "greenhouse effect". But in this Climate Discussion Nexus "Backgrounder" video Dr. John Robson shows that abundant evidence demonstrates that these past cycles were real, and that what's really odd about current conditions is how low temperatures are in the current cyclical peak.

Looking At The Sun
Climate alarmists downplay or dismiss the role of the sun in climate change, attributing most or all of it to CO2 and to man-made CO2 at that. But in this Climate Discussion Nexus "Backgrounder" video Dr. John Robson explains that a technical dispute about satellite readings of solar output since 1979 is of enormous importance here because if one side is right, temperature fluctuations over the last four decades correlate very closely with cycles in the sun's activity and if the other is, they're almost entirely unrelated. And once again, the refusal of one side to admit there's a dispute, and to try to suppress evidence of it, tells you a lot about who's doing real climate "science".

Big Trouble In The Little Ice Age
Climate alarmists downplay or dismiss the Little Ice Age, like the Medieval Warm Period before it, because its existence shows first that temperatures fluctuate naturally and always have, and second that much or most of the specific warming since 1850 has nothing to do with human beings. But in this Climate Discussion Nexus "Backgrounder" video Dr. John Robson shows not only that abundant evidence demonstrates that the Little Ice Age was very real and occurred across much of the globe, but that the cooling after the early 14th century brought a marked deterioration in weather and a rise in crop failures, whereas climate orthodoxy says warming would cause such things.
