Parasite Mystery
Parasite Mystery SOLVED! Whatever your internet reference is on parasites seems to be referring to Lyme Disease as an example. Lyme's disease is caused by a bacterial spirochete, but the vector that gives it to you is a tick... and that is the parasite. Just to be clear, this disease is not considered a parasitic disease.

Intestinal Parasites
Parasites suck... literally! They always cause disease, thus they are termed parasitic as opposed to commiserate organisms. Parasites are spread in unclean conditions (which are not typically found in the western world) so, unless you have been camping or in close proximity with a person or animal harboring a parasite, your IBS symptoms are unlikely being caused by a parasite. Intestinal parasites cause severe illness and so if you are ill, always see your doctor, a stool test will rule this out or if the history is appropriate, a medication will be called out.
As a side note - there are other types of parasites other than intestinal, and again these are rare in the US, however, if you are pregnant you do need to know that cats can carry a parasite called toxoplasmosis which causes birth defects... continue to wash your hands before you eat, wear shoes outdoors, cook your food properly and relax... it is unlikely you have a monster with you.

Vegetarians VS. Carnivores!
Food Fight! Let's not play carnivores vs. vegetarians. The most important concept is eating non-processed, organic non-GMO complete protein, essential fats, and low glycemic carbs. Your body and your microbiome are designed for both plant and animal sourced foods.

Glutamine Supplement
Glutamine is an amino acid found naturally in foods. Glutamine heavy foods are important for intestinal health because glutamine is the food of the cells that line the intestinal tract. Glutamine helps reduce inflammation, and it helps the enzymatic function of the intestinal lining perform better it helps you absorb both nature nutrients and electrolytes better. This is an amino acid worth adding to your daily intake whether as a supplement or as ingredients in your meals.

Flax Seed Oil
Flax seeds are great & they've been in the news for a while as something to add to your diet, but now we are going to talk about adding the actual oil from flax seeds to your daily routine. From the references I have read, in regards to the magic properties of flax seed oil, it is in regards to the concentrated versions of the oil itself. Therefore, we're speaking of either getting liquid you can put into a smoothie -or- capsules you can take by mouth, preferably at night. Why? because your body tends to absorb fatty acids better at night!
