Head of Pharma at Bayer admits that the mRNA vaccines are gene therapy

Stefan Oelrich, head of Bayer's pharma department delivers a speech during the Opening Ceremony of the World Health Summit 2021.

Several things he said are significant here:

1. he lays out in simple terms that mRNA vaccines are, indeed cell and/or gene therapy. (whether this can be read to be an admission they are specifically gene therapy is debatable as he uses the two terms as a compound category)

2. he’s thrilled that people accepted it. “if we had surveyed 2 years ago if people were willing to take gene or cell therapy and inject it into your body we would have probably had a 95% refusal rate.”

3. he sees this as the big future thrust for Bayer.

4. and he sees the pandemic as “having opened eyes about innovation.”

Quite a lot to unpack there.

Foremost, I wonder very much about his impression about people being accepting of cell and gene therapy going forward. this would imply that they knew it was happening last time. I think very few do. this was assiduously denied all along. they were pushed as “vaccines” because “vaccines are safe and you can trust them.”

calling them “experimental gene or cell therapies never before used in humans that have no track record of efficacy or safety” got you banned from public discourse and social media. apparently, it still does. those of a somewhat cynical bent might have some pointed questions here about just why that is…

whether they were, in fact, vaccines at all can be semantically debated, but one thing is certain: they were not tested like vaccines. that takes 5-10 years. they were not held to the standards to which vaccines are generally held that have made them so incredibly safe.

every safety was ripped out in the rush. boosters were approved without even doing any clinical outcomes work. it was done on biomarkers alone. it was so egregious that the top people at FDA vaccine division quit over it.

perhaps great short term marketing, but long term, this has done massive harm to faith in regulators. and this is going to matter.
