As Russia continues its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the U.S. and Europe are responding with heavy new sanctions against Russia over what many are calling an illegal war. So far, Western sanctions have not worked and may also come with a lot of economic blowback at a time when the world is still recovering from the coronavirus pandemic. At the same time, inflation in the U.S. has hit record highs.
