How I Evaluate Horses Before Training Unlisted Video

It's important to get to know a horse before beginning a training program. I like to see if and how they respond to me, how they move, learn their demeanor, whether they submit easily or struggle to submit.

I also evaluate them for any soreness that may hinder the training process. You'd be surprised how often a soreness issue is mistaken for misbehavior or an attitude problem, as you'll see in an upcoming video.

I talk through how I'm evaluating Bella, a young female that's been ridden quite a bit. Her owner wants to do some new things with her and wants me to prepare her for them.
