55 Gallon Drum J Tube Heater for Greenhouse

This was a project I’d contemplated for quite a while. Many years ago I ran across the thermal flywheel concept in rammed earth buildings. Rammed earth buildings have become quite the art form in some places. This however is not an artistic thing at all. I suspect this is going to do quite well for it’s intended purpose. The next one I build will be made out of steel tubing that is thicker and it will be welded in such a manner that the firebox is at the base of the chimney and the intake and clean out all intersect at that location. That way I can center the flue in the drum. I’m also inclined to add a solar element to it. That way I don’t have a fire unless I need it, but that’s next year.
