EP 110 | Is the Parents Fight in Virginia Schools the Beginning of the End for Critical Race Theory?

“I don't think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.” is Virginia candidate Terry Mcauliff's comment in a debate that lit the fires causing his loss for the Governor’s race in Virginia this year. You would think the federal government has no role in local school administration, but you would think wrong under the Biden regime. Listen to this from the Family Foundation: “powerful elites aren’t just trying to minimize the role of parents. Now, real efforts are actually underway to criminalize dissent. On September 29, the National School Board Association wrote a letter to President Biden calling on the Administration to classify “these heinous actions [by parents] as the equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes.” While not citing any specific incidents, they simply claimed a generalized increase in “acts of malice, violence, and threats against public school officials.” It’s one thing to investigate violence or possible threats – neither of which has been reported – but it’s beyond the pale to treat every parent who disagrees with school board missteps and policies as an enemy of the local school board. We should look at the organization of a parents’ movement as a sign that there are serious problems in our system of education, not in the parents who have the primary role in their children’s education. It gets worse, the current US Education secretary would not agree with Senator Mike Braun in senate testimony that “parents are the primary stakeholder in a child’s education.” Thank goodness we do have a few parents who are elected school board officials and who are willing to challenge the federal regime. My guest today is one of these Americans who still believes in the promises of our founding fathers, fights against critical race theory in our schools, wants our children to be safe from sexual assault, and walks the talk. Loudon County school board member and congressional Candidate, Mr. John Beatty, welcome to the Rob Maness Show!
