Postman wrote many books and gave many speeches about the rise and negative influence of technology in our lives. If you take the time to go find his full lectures, you will, I think, be fascinated by his view of what constitutes technology (it's not just electronic gadgets or steam engines.) Very eye-opening.

I wish we would have taken his warnings more seriously.
