At the August 17th Flagler County School Board meeting, the public was kicked out as they were accused of misbehaving (violating decorum) after prior warnings where the public was clapping. At the time, the public was being compliant. Emotions were running high due to Emergency Mask Mandate Motions being on the Agenda, despite these being illegal due to the Governor's Order. Furthermore, attendance was high due to what happened to my family. Emotions were high. However, the public was kicked out by the School Board Attorney/Parliamentarian, not the elected School Board Chair, adjourned the meeting to recess and decided it would resume with public comments in a closed door fashion. This happened until an officer in charge determined this action is violating sunshine laws and allowed the public back in. This seemed to be orchestrated as the public in attendance was actually being compliant at the time of the forced recess. The attorney accused the public of ay least 10 people making comments after the speaker left the podium. The public disagreed and so did some school board members. The person that caused the meeting to be adjourned, as the last public speaker at the podium while the public was allowed in wearing a black shirt with a mosquito on the back, took to social media to brag about "clearing the board meeting".
