Ultimate Expression
As time ticks on
the further away it gets
With each passing day
the less I’ve learned to fret
I can not control the time
nor rein in moments to keep
I’ve lived this long already
I’ve come in way too deep
Slipping through my fingers
like tiny grains of sand
I went in search of salvation
In countries throughout the land
But what I have finally seen
the key to everything in life
Has been inside me all along
the truth cuts like a knife
So I look no further outside myself
except for a heavenly connection
For once I learned to accept it
I became my ultimate expression
