Melania Trump Fashion Icon - Pink Patriot
Since becoming the First Lady of the United States, there have been several occasions when Melania Trump has been pretty in pink to greet foreign dignitaries at the White House.
In June 2019, the First Lady welcomed Polish President Andrezej and his wife, Agata Kornhauser-Duda, to the White House in a pale pink suit by Calvin Klein.
In April 2019, she greeted South Korean President Moon Jae-in and his wife Kim Jung-sook while wearing a Louis Vuitton fuschia coat.
In February 2019, First Lady Melania Trump welcomed Colombian President Márquez and his wife Maria Ruiz Sandoval to Washington, D.C. while wearing a bright pink plaid Fendi coat that features hot pink fur cuffs.
And, in June 2018, Mrs. Trump received Queen Rania and King Abdullah II of Jordan at the White House in a light pink leather dress with an assymetrical neckline by fashion design duo Proenza Schouler.
But perhaps the First Lady's most prominent 'pretty in pink' moment was when she addressed the United Nations General Assembly on September 20, 2017. Melania Trump gave an inspiring and patriotic speech on the importance of children while wearing a hot pink wool coat by Spanish fashion house Delpozo. She paired the coat with matching hot pink stilettos by Christian Louboutin. The pretty in pink first lady eloquently remarked:
"If you look at the present state of children in any society, we will see the future that our world can expect tomorrow. Show me your civic lessons of today and I will show you your civic leaders of tomorrow. Show me your history lessons of today and I will show you your political leaders of tomorrow. Show me the loving bonds between your families today and I will show you the patriotism and moral clarity of your nation tomorrow."
