Rumble / Cats & KittensWe often hear the phrase ”survival of the fittest,” but do we really know what it means?! The first thing that comes to mind is the physical fitness of someone, but funnily enough, that is not always the case. This idiom comes from the Darwinian theory of evolution and what it means is that whoever has the best blend of traits is the one who will progress in evolution. Basically, this phrase explains the principle of natural selection that Darwin was talking about. So what it means is that you don’t have to be the biggest or the smartest, you only need to know how to survive in the wilderness and have a quick set of reflexes.

So, judging by everything we’ve said, which animal is the first one that comes to mind? Obviously, it was the cat. Of course they can make some unexplainable things that are borderline dumb from time to time, but we never said anyone was perfect.

Cats get close to perfection, ‘though, because they are ones of the rarest animals walking this planet that can survive both the domestic environment and the wilderness. Just check out Sammy Davis Jr. This cat is too cool for water bowls and prefers drinking directly from the water cooler but can just as easily adapt in the wilderness. Those are some seriously cool sets of skills and they make us wonder from time to time whether they are our pets or we are their humble servants.
