A doctor says it: Only sick people pay!
In this exclusive Wochenblick interview, editor-in-chief Elsa Mittmannsgruber talks with Dr. Gerd Reuther about the position of doctors, the pharmaceutical industry, the Covid crisis and Dr. Reuther’s latest book "Heilung Nebensache" - a critical history of European medicine from Hippocrates to Covid.
Dr. Reuther, who, at the age of 32, was one of the youngest head physicians in Germany, doesn't mix his words as regards his colleagues, and provides interesting insights into the health system.
When Dr. Gerd Reuther left his job as a hospital radiologist at the age of 55, he didn't turn his back on medicine. Since then, he has published three books ("Die Kunst, möglichst lange zu leben", "Der betrogene Patient" and "Heilung Nebensache"), ("The art of living for a long time", "The patient deceived" and "Your healing? It’s secondary!") which deal with medical excesses and look back at 2,500 years of European medical history. In doing so, he gives a damning verdict.
